tbh, I hated this show as a kid (I can't remember why), but I decided I'd give it another chance when I heard everyone talking about the movie, and I loved it! now, I'd like to watch the show from start to finish because I ship these two so fucking much and want to see more of them xDD this is so beautiful!! so glad you got to watch the movie too ^^
I think children in general might not always be able to appreciate this show cause all things considered it’s pretty different in a lot of ways. I myself didn’t watch it as a kid and only discovered it when I was 18 years old. So I watched it with adult eyes and got to notice all the dark subjects and what makes it amazing for what it is while as a child I would probably have missed all of them xD

The early episodes are usually more for kids mainly, but I think the show grew up with its viewers and became a more adult show. You'll notice the characters actually sort of "grew up", too. Helga's character in particular matured a lot from the start, although the core of her stayed the same. She became more articulate, more interested in adult things, and as her home life got worse, her ability to look after herself improved.
As a little kid, I preferred Teletubbies and Barney and Caillou mostly. I liked a lot of baby shows. Jack's big music show, Maggie and the ferocious beast, Toddworld, EVERYTHING!
So I'd never really watched Hey Arnold before but your hype for the Jungle Movie got me to watch it and boy oh boy was it amazing. Thank you for doing the wonderful work of editing with this, it's beautiful!
