We think it's the best and glad you do too 😜
I love racing on my SE790C. Samsung is the gold standard in the world of monitors and TVs.
Can I trade in my G7 for this? 😊
Does it have the same problems I'm having with my G9 OLED? 😭
@SamsungUS I just ordered one in large part due to Matt’s influence. I found out about the $500 Samsung credit through this video.
curious how many of these monitors were picked through to find the perfect panel with no samsung QC issues that the gaming community has been plagued with for years. If only the QC for these screens were the same quality for all customers and not just reviewers or CES models.
They need to make an ultra wide equivalent to 3 monitors and it’ll be game over.
Yep. Still a dual mon 32x9 aspect. If it was 3 wide it would be 48x9. Has a bigger form factor tho. Taller and wider. The 49's look crunched and narrow in height. 3 x 32" lg nano IPS at 1440 are a true 3 wide and are 17' in height. 1440p is plenty for monitors that are 16-17" in height. Imo 1440p is a sweet spot for quite a while. Who needs 4k on a monitor that is only 14"-17" in height even if 57"? Notice that most specs don't reveal the actual physical height of monitor. My guess 15 or 16", maybe 17". That makes it equivalent to 2x32" lg nano with no IPS.
@@DownTheRabbit-Hole the screen is 2 inches higher than the 49"
@@DownTheRabbit-Holewell spoken but I HATE BEZELS for triples that’s why I consider this 57”.. Some persons don’t see bezels but I just see them 24/7

57" of Samsung, still couldn't see me pit in AMS. :D
That looks amazing! Congratulation's on the sponsorship Matt!
Very Nice!!!! dont be crashing me off now! you can 100% see me along side you no excuse, thank you Samsung for saving me some deaths on track with this crazy person behind the wheel!
I LOVE the idea of that size, but I do wish that they would release a 1440p version. Unless you have a graphics card that matches the price of this monitor, I'm afraid that it's a lot of pixels to push. All said though, the price doesn't seem too outrageous, considering what the 49" ultrawides go for, especially with that preorder discount they are offering for anyone willing to bite.
At 7680x2160 there really isn't a GPU out that can even really handle that resolution. I mean that's dual 4k, even my 4090 would struggle to even get 50-60 fps in a lot of modern titles.
You can run it at 2k resolution if you want you don't have to do 4k unless this is like any other monitor I have seen?
Sub native resolutions look like junk though, blurry mess@@Circletakesthejake
1440p is already terrible on 49” monitors (and suboptimal at 34”).
Also anyone getting a 57” will want to use it for productivity where such a bad PPI will be even less acceptable.
It’s probably better to accept this will have to wait until we have the RTX 5090.
1440p on the 49" is exactly the same as 1440p on the 34" monitors.....@@magicmulder
Awesome video man! I’ve got the 49” G9 and was considering triples, but think this might be the way to go. Look forward to Sundays sponsored stream!
I went from 49 G9 to triples 32's and would never go back to a single screen, I have also tried this 57 and again I won't give up my triples any day soon. Cheers
@@adrianmilanesi9143 I'm currently leaning toward triple 32s too...These big ultrawides look so nice but I it's just not quite enough side view on both sides for me. Now I've just gotta decide whether 4k or 1440p ... My 4080 will handle either , but I don't know if the FPS sacrifice would be worth it for 4k
@adrianmilanesi9143 yeah, i got the 49inch g9 and with correct fov i cant see the sidemirrors, thought die 57inch version might be big enough but as seen in this video the mirrors only can be seen in the wrong fov. Have to switch to tripples
This is equal to two 32" monitors. A triple monitor setup with the Asus Bezel-Free Kit is the way to go in my opinion because you can see out of both side mirrors.
Did you drop in FPS though? I just gone from 32" single@165fps to triples and am only getting 55-60 pfs. Its a big difference that definitely affects my driving performance ive found. Im thinking of getting this screen just for the fps and resolution factors. @@adrianmilanesi9143
I see you brought out the 'professional matt' for this video and left 'unfiltered matt' in the cupboard, great video 👍
Man this video came out so nice! Will definitely be keeping an eye on this monitor moving forward. Props to Sam's camera work, as usual.
Asetek wheel bases are so cool i think they are the only ones who put Led strips on the base your rig is awesome
For a sec I thought this was a Butter sponsorship video, the display so smooth 😉😉 and seamless.
For sure will be the next monitor standard in a couple of years... joining the bandwagon.
Sadly, these super ultrawides still miss a TON of fov compared to triples. its easier to run, but you don't need 4k at all.
2k is absolutely more than enough.
@Real28 True because have triples 27” and see both windows and mirrors BUT I HATE BEZELS even with Asus bezel free kit. So this I gonna buy. Can live without right window and mirror because let’s be honest crashes still happen triples or not 😅 and I ‘m gonna set the monitor at 1440p. 4K is too heavy for my pc
_"This video was brought to you by Raid Shadow Legends!"_
Samantha walked in the room, looked at Matt and said "oh my god, its huge!"
I bought the monitor, but where did you get the mount for the 80/20??
How did you mount it now ?
man you should fix your FOV! I don't know why 99% of simers keep the wheel in game on. You should aim for a perspective where your physical wheel is in the same place as the virtual one.
Otherwise you loose a ton of impression of speed and hitting apex is more difficult.
But then everybody would have noticed that this monitor isnt the best for simracing because u still cant see shit compared to tripples
Oh my god. The crashes Malone is going to put us through are going to be MASSIVE.
triples or vr can see more of sides on car without pushing driver view so far back from wheel. Beautiful resolution though.
how on earth is it possible that the FOV looks exactly like the 49in? You can see out the left side pretty good, not much on the right.. which is what I see on the 49in in peoples pictures.. i dont understand.. where did the 2000 extra horizontal pixels go?
This is exactly what I would like to know. I have a 49 NEO running at 240 hz. I would love to upgrade a 57" but I am not seeing any improvement based on his FOV settings.
I hope they paid you well for this commercial you just made me watch
5:42 - make sure you set it to 240hz on the monitor settings and on Windows :) my G9 49" required an update to run it @ 240hz
I think 7680x2160@240 requires DP 2.1
He also needs to use DP port and not HDMI
I know sim racing is Matt Malone's "thing", but it would have been nice to see the monitor playing other games, with some sort of stats, to see what it can do.
I am really happy for you - well deserved
Nice video! Ordered mine yesterday. Was hesitant since I’m currently using triple curved 32’s with a 4090 as well. What did you end up setting the FOV at for this monitor in Iracing? I’m hopeful that I can get it around 120 degrees (I should be seated around 21” away from screen). Hopeful that Samsung or Invidia provides an update to utilize the 240hz through display port.
Fov calculator using 20.5" viewing distance put it at 135 fov
how come you are swapping from triple 32's with more fov to this?
@@cmason87 I'm happy with my triples. I'm currently using the Gigabyte G32QC A 32" 165Hx 1440P curved and they work really well and get a full 180FOV. However, I feel like I hardly ever use the extra "back half" of my side monitors. Driving some of the cars they even have a safety net or other obstruction blocking your view in this area anyway. I typically don't "see" the bezels between the monitors but I thought if I can get at least 120FOV bezel free it may be the sweet spot. I also think it will be easier to run at a higher resolution/frame rate. I've been on triples for several years and this is the first monitor that I thought might replace them.
don't the triple allow you to see all mirrors vs the ultra wide that usually only get the left one?
I mostly race gt3 so I'd like to have both mirrors and hesitating between UW and triples
@@MattMaloneTV I have the same monitor coming with a 4090 gpu in my pc would you mind sharing your Iracing graphic settings thanks love your content.
I wonder what your iRacing setup is. Fully maxed 4k, with everything high, and I am not getting steady 120hz with my 4090. My CPU is slightly older ryzen 9 5900x, but still not slow, and the 4090 is strong and overclocked. Any recommended video settings in Control Panel etc?
Triples have always been best for me but nice monitor.
Hey Matt. Any chance you can share your picture settings? Brightness, contrast etc
Why are you using the HDMI?
This looks amazing! I have a 55" LGC1 that I'm using currently. I'd like to get a monitor or triples so I can use my lgc1 for my consoles and movies. How would you compare this to a Oled?
Kids these days! Back when I was your age son, we played iRacing on punch cards!
After every input we'd get a print out. Oh, I know what you're thinking. Dot matrix. Oh, no! That would be the future. No mechanical gears would spin in line.. 100 characters.. it took a couple seconds. Then there was and a huge *THWACK* as the bar with all those 100 spindles thrust against the ribbon, making an ink impression on paper. That's was our windshield. We'd make a quick decision, left, right, slow, fast and input it on a punch card.. CAREFULLY! If we messed up the code, even one, it would crash! Ba hahaha. I remember my friend Jerry.. this was back in 77. Well Jerry was winning the Talledega at Daytona.. last lap. thousands of spent punch cards were spread out on the floor. Anyway.. Jerry was careful because he was a klutz. Well anyway.. Somebody moved his chair and he didn't realize it.. He was looking at his stack of punch cards for his next input. Well he stumbled and fell on the floor. The 10 punch cards got mixed in with the thousand spent ones laying on the floor. There was no chance we'd sort it out in time. The minute was up. He almost won the Talledega at Daytona back in 77. Last lap. Just one slip up and gone forever.
So you kids these days enjoy your ultra uber wide 69 inch monitor-thingy.. just know you got it all too easy! Wins don't deserve as much respect as the did back in the olden days. Take heed to that, son!
Congrats! Love the monitor. You inspired me to pick up a 49" earlier this summer. Love it.
probably better than my 13" b&w. I will have to save up.
What's the fov you are getting? Most important stuff.
cool🔥, how we can get that monitor mount adapter for profile?
16.5 Mpix - that's going to need one HUMUNGOUS GPU.
Do you not miss the extra width of a triple screen setup for racing?
From the videos, the 49” version didn’t seem like it gave sufficient vertical height for sim racing, the 57” looks like it might have addressed this though.
I had trips years ago 24" I do not miss them. I really like the ultrawides. 49" was nice but the 57" is miles better. It's not that much bigger but it is noticeably taller which helps a lot. Love it. But the debate will always continue over single ultrwides and trips. But fov isn't the only thing to consider
@@MattMaloneTV I think I'm largely in agreement with you. I find my 24" 16:10's not quite tall enough. I measured up & compared to the 49" sammy ultra wide & it gives little advantage in vertical height vs 3x 24" 16:10's & would not be as wide (~1200mm vs ~1550mm).
The new 57" is more favourable - it would give a closer width to my 3x24" 16:10's (~1394 vs ~1550mm) & it would have a little more vertical height (~392mm vs ~323mm), so an extra 69mm of vertical height.
The downside is driving the resolution of the 57" - my aging 1080Ti can cope with 3x1080P screens, I doubt it will cope with the 57"s resolution...fine, so you'd need to factor in a new GPU, but nothing currently available really does the 57" justice. the nVidia 40 series all seem to use displayport 1.4, where as the AMD use Displayport 2.1, but otheriwse seem less powerful to drive such a monitor than the best of the nVidea cards, & with the cost of the high end GPU's, I'm not sure I'd want to buy one right now that wasn't able to fully drive the monitor immediately.....its like buying a ferrari & being stuck driving it in the new 20mph zones in the UK that are stringing up all over the place!
What do you need vertical fov for? To look at the skies while you’re racing?
@@adf286 I only have triple 24" 1080P at the moment. I find that if I adjust my in game 'drivers seat' to get what feels to me to be okay, then I typically only see the top half of the rev counter. I'd like to see more of the instrument panel.
Also, on some circuits where it is not on a flat terrain, its helpful to see more of the 'sky' because when you are going down hill, it allows you to see more of what the road is doing up ahead going up hill....for example Eau Rouge at Spa. If I set my screen so I can see the instrument panel okay & less sky, then on a section of track like Eau Rouge, I'd have a limited view of the road ahead when I was heading down into Eau Rouge.
I also find I don't want to lower my 'drivers seat' view too much because then the wheel & instrument panel obstructs my view of the road.
I wouldn't have such an issue with FoV with monitors that have greater vertical space I think. I could be wrong though, but I feel its a function of having relatively small screens
@@adf286I am using triple 32, had 27 before. The vertical gain is very very nice for me - I installed my VRS wheelbase behind the middle screen and have a longer adapter to my wheel, so I use the ingame dash with my wheel in a realistic position to the dash now. This is looking ultra realistic and just feels right. You can’t do this with 27 because of missing vertical high.
How great the monitor is, it will be difficult to replace my 3 x 32 samsung g7, because I will miss the right side of the car. They have to make some software so you could spli this monitor in 3 screens or something.
Matt, do you have a video on your PC using to power the 57?

Reading the spec sheet does not help much. I was interested to see a review. My review is that I am not convinced this will be a good option for racing. Also, it is Samsung. My last Samsung 5k monitor was a horrible experience.
Tons of marketing takes place here. To give an example 240hz is on paper that if you use AMD GPU, you will not be able to achieve the resolution, and if you use 4090, you can go 120hz.
Also, the price. Samsung phone strategy. It should be priced at half the offered price.
Good luck running 7680x2160 at any kind of decent framerates. I have a 13900k and a 4090 and I still would be getting junk framerate in a lot of modern titles.
If you just game and don't stream etc. Go top spec AMD. It's better for gaming. Intel will be your bottleneck.
lol at 7680x2160 it's not gonna matter how fast the cpu is. It's already mostly gpu bound at 4k as it is, with dual 4k there would be absolutely no bottleneck even with older cpus.@@boosivemotorsportofficial
Sick monitor but I think it's incredibly overrated and niche even for simracers. It only falls into a tiny category below for me, category "E":
A) if you only race = VR
B) if you only race, besides VR = triple screens
C) if you race and also play other games = 45" 21:9
D) if you don't race but play other games = 45" 21:9
E) If you ONLY race AND are hell-bent on avoiding BOTH VR and triple-screens = 57" 32:9
Have tried it, and wouldn't give up my triple 32's any day soon...........
It's too short from top to bottom for me. I feel claustrophobic
Now you need to find a wheel extension and place the monitor closer, at the beggining of the motor base and gain some extra fov deegres!!!

You can tell the sponsored reviews from the non-sponsored ones. I believe the RTX 4090 doesn't support DP 2.1 (which is needed to attain 240Hz), and the AMD 7900 series can only do 1440 @ 240Hz over DP 2.1. A non-sponsored review would have told you this. Great! A perfect monitor to play Mario Kart now!
I’ll wait for the OLED cheaper version by the time it arrives.
Common mistake with new sim racers.. don't worry mostly everyone does this when starting out. The monitor/TV you want is triple 50-55 inch (Height). Why you ask?... well it's because of "correct scale/ling", which is important not only for realism but also for FOV and how distant or close anything is relative to your position. What you get with anything else is unrealistic, skewed, warped aspect ratio and a huge disadvantage if doing serious racing. It's a nice monitor, but not proper for sim racing.
Which 55 do you recommend
@@nomadoverlander847 any that isn't 60hrz/75hrz.. 120hrz if you don't find anything higher, even TVs are ok, delay is not that bad on new TVs, as long as you go for triples that is. Omega Prime is a good rig, good choice. Feet plate kinda skinny and rattily if you put rumble shakers though. Nice setup regardless. Keep in mind: 50/55 in height. Once you see the cars (scale) next to you, you'll get it... it's one of those things were video doesn't translate it well.
They need to do the same but with OLED technology!
True but that would nearly double the price again.
That a huge monitor you have there, Malone ❤
I’ve been waiting for this. But I won’t buy until they release the OLED version. It’s just better for streaming with those absolute blacks.
