I 100% agree on every level with this policy. Any commercial business has the right to deny service to any patron they deem inappropriate or disruptive. And as to keeping their money, I say that if the patron was warned of the repercussions of the belligerent behavior and continued to do do, they in turn forfeit all admission fees and do not qualify for a refund.

I really wish there was a theater like yours in my area. One where I don't need to leave the theater and miss the movie in order to deal with a rude person

People need to get the fact that their screen lights up. No matter how much they don't think it does, it does, period.
Tim League didn't walk into the theater and hand pick this person to throw them out, guests at the Drafthouse are warned after OTHER GUESTS raise order cards to alert staff. Other people in the theater obviously had a problem with this person, and informed the staff. After a warning, if it keeps happening, THEN the texter/talker is removed.

I agree as well because the movie isn't being watched by just one person. There is simply no need to be rude and distruptive through out the course of the movie and ruin the theater experiance for other people. If you can't show the people around you that little amount of respect then you should be banned from the theater indefinently.

Good Job. You guys should encourage all theaters to use your video. Also make a fb page that we can like against people like her!

@sonicnuckle from your first comment "happy ban"?
Also its a privately owned business. If this guy said no cell phones at all in the theater, and you had to go through a metal detector and or a pat down just to get in, that's his right. If you don't like it you go somewhere else, that's your right. See in the U.S.A. we believe in a little something called freedom.

Hey, Mr. League! Are you a gen x-er? Im guessing so with the videos, VHS, and nostalgia! My wife and I LOVE your theatre!

    I completely agree with this video's author(s).
To many people act as though common courtesy is a fad that went out of style with [insert archaic fad of the 70's or 80's here].
I truly think the human aspect of humanity became deceased long before that. Today a thank you is mostly replaced with a shrug of the shoulders or a blank stare. Try holding the door for one person at a gas station and you get 12 more people bum rushing your moment of conceived weakness. Manners don't exist is large

    1. Why do you need the picture? The fact that some people are mean-spirited, it'd be putting a target on the girl.
    2. You don't get a refund, the rules clearly state this.
    3. Blocking phones won't stop assholes from turning on their phone every two seconds and ruining the theater experience for other people.

Bad business guys. A customer is a customer, and word of mouth makes or breaks a business. Pride feels good, but it doesn't pay the bills. Someone sitting and quietly tying a message is not being disruptive, so they should have been asked to close their phone, or go to the lobby if they had an emergency reason for testing. Also, I once fell and hurt myself badly in a movie theater, because the lighting level was so poor that I could not see where I was going. I was out of work for a --cont

@pophiopolis a few hundred years ago, nobody had Penicillin, hand sanitizer or a cure for Polio.. Should we die, just because it's not fair to those people so long ago that didn't have those things?

@awrocksu98110777 How so? They are only controlling what happens in their theater, we get these bumps all the time, and this one just went viral.

No this man has the freedom to institute any rule he wants in his own establishment. How is that not freedom? You have the freedom to choose what theater you want to go to. How does that not say freedom? Then again you may think that it should all be regulated, the government should come in tell him that he has to let everyone use there phones during a movie. While their at it they tell him he has to cut his prices and give everybody a free Lg popcorn. Where's the freedom in that?

Oh and by the way I like to keep my cell phone and check all messages in case of an emergency. For example what if my mother was in the hospital and was on her deathbed and my father tried to call me, but my phone was off because i was watching a movie at your theater. Then what?

Your right on that one cause the movie theaters I go to they politely ask you to silence your phone (it was COBB Theaters btw) NOT like Alamo drafthouse

  • @godluvsmormons
    @godluvsmormons 13 лет назад

cont- a year, and the theater lost a LOT of money because they poorly lit their room. I know you can not satisfy everyone, and there is always going to be someone who is just vindictive and rude, but the bottom line is you are a business, and as such, like it or not, you have to kiss the customer's butt. That's just a sad fact, and those who don't get that in their heads lose, pure and simple. The whole situation was poorly handled, and now you have compounded your error by embarrassing this gir

@godluvsmormons It's good business. Word of mouth is that Alamo drafthouse rocks!! If you watch the texting ad they play at Alamo you will find out that the woman was asked several times to stop texting. She ignored it and was booted out. Also, if you are having trouble finding your seat in the dark ... don't arrive to the movie late and watch where you are going.
    PEACE

@goddessdvne its called the 'keep your eyes on the screen and off my phone' app. small cell screens are not that bright, and if you're not looking directly at them there's no way they'll detract from your watching the movie.
