I only speak 2 languages and haven’t even contemplated learning mandarin but I can already see the nuances and the mastery of comedy in different languages which means it is probably better than I can actually appreciate. I might cancel my french lessons and move on to Mandarin.

i am a frenchman and yes you should cancel your french lessons because it does not make any sense to learn french in 2021. learning spanish, chinese or even russian is a better thing to do indeed.

I'm studying Japanese and not Chinese. But I just have to say, this is an amazing video and really funny and interesting (and I don't have any immediate intentions of studying Chinese). If you keep this kind of quality up you're going to blow up in a year or two.

My personal belief is speaking another language is not difficult, to speak with the sort of accent a native speaker does it a little harder, to speak and understand the cultural context behind a culture is much harder. This sometimes really has nothing to do with how well you understand a language. You can roughly make a good guess from my name that I am an ethnic chinese of some sort. Mandarin was the first language I learnt to speak as a child, however, I have never lived in China. Despite traveling to china on a regular basis , I often cannot understand the cultural context behind certain way chinese there speaks without asking a few follow-up questions. Despite a slight hint of american accent in your speech, I believe actually understand the cultural context behind how people speak, and that is quite impressive. Your skit on American Jewish Christmas dinner is simply a work of brilliance, in one go, you somehow made fun of 3 cultural anomaly with a great piece of humor, some might call that devine comedy. LOL.

Haha thanks! I still have a bit of an accent, but it is covered by the Beijing accent. That’s where I did most of my learning, though I also learned at college in America and then also spent half a year in shanghai at one point

Unfortunately, I went right from the airport to the TV studio, and then from the TV studio to the airport, so I still need to visit changsha as a tourist to see what it is like hahaha
@@jesseappell6674 That’s good. Hunan TV is famous in China. You should, if you have chance, go explore Changsha coz it have plenty of delicious food. It is a city for people to chill up. Hunan food is one of the eight food system in China so you gotta try it when you have chance. I saw in your video, you don’t receive your visa, what is going on?
