I've cut down dramatically on my trips to my local Goodwill due to the fact that they stopped giving discounts, except Sr. discount on Tues. 15% and Sunday has 2 colors -- one selling for 42 each, and the other selling for $3 each. Someday I'll take a ride over to PA to visit a nice thrift store that donates to a Children's hospital.
The McCoy bowl, my mom used one for a bread bowl for as long as I can remember. About 2005, I accidentally knocked it off the buffet. Couple years later, I found another one at an estate auction. Paid up for it, but it was worth it.
That quilt is called an Irish chain pattern. Very pretty. Rarely do quilters hand piece and only half hand quilts these days. They are usually sent out for machine quilting. You have a good eye.

The farmhouse in Mapleton where you visited has been torn down 😢 we were renting. But now we have purchased a home in Spanish Fork. I watch you most nights from NZ - live it! Love the prices particularly at your Deseret Industries thrift stores -we call them op shops here. I also don’t follow how you make profit by telling customers the mark up -obviously we can see in the previous videos how much you were charged and your system obviously works well for you -go you guys!! I’m also not sure why people buy an item before it’s made over -how do they know if they’ll like the colour choices etc??
They makeover items in the style what's popular in America now and it goes with most their interiors. If you like the style of items in their shop, you know you will like the end result. People in Europe don't decorate in American "lived in shabby" style, especially in the Eastern Europe and in Russia. But that's a shame. I prefer American style decor and learnt a lot!
I AGREE don't want to hear the jacked up prices. I love to thrift also but getting older and not able to enjoy the treasures that someone generously donated. I do understand your point of making a profit but not getting RICH at the expense of your viewers. Without the viewers you have nothing but a trip to the store!
Good to see Im not the only one to find your practice of divulging your buy and sell prices as bizarre. Hey good for you getting a 10x markup on that first set but surely retail customers will view that as greed. BTW Ive been shopping thrifts for 45 years and reselling for 25.
@@batvette appreciate your input. After hundreds of these videos and thousands of sales I would say it’s working for us to be honest in how we run our business. We shoe people how we do it so if they want to, they can source their own items.

Our GW have senior day just 10% and half price on color from the week before going to bins. Prices are as high as retail sales on newer items…😂

They are helping many re-sellers, which I believe are a big part of their client base. They work hard. Most of us are not bothered by their success.
But they don't only rely on the RUclips viewers they also have a beautiful little shop.
