Because back then there was no cgi. There's a scene where Tarzan has to swim in the original movie and they need someone who can swim. The actor who played in the film was an olympic swim athlete. Basically, Ryan was playing on the stereotype and facts lol.

ollum16 no it's a stereotype that dates back to the time of slavery. Lots of people from africa had never even seen the ocean before, so when they were thrown in they couldn't swim. That is what it stems from.

On a frivolous show where everyone else respects the tone of it and keeps the humour light and mostly politics free, it must get frustrating to the others that Aisha and Wayne can't resist endlessly dragging up the subject of race. Like there aren't hundreds of other shows where you can make those points - let us have one place where the comedy is light and agenda free!
