The Big Push are bigger than the sum of their parts - and that is saying something because the parts are individually stupendous. Great reaction, thanks!
We all love REN, but these guys are so individually talented it’s crazy. Romain. Is unbelievable on guitar and Gorham is a fantastic rock. Singer. Their harmonies are on another level
One my favorite Big Push mashups is What kind of Woman is This? If youre in the mood for some blues, this one is great. I also love that Ren, Gorran and Romain each get a solo.
Think so too. So many younger people who listen to all music also notice. But perhaps what will keep them together and happy with each other longer than 70s bands is that they're comfortable walking away to do their own thing then coming back together with some new ideas. Seems like they're friends first, and there is no corporate music industry controlling what they do. I'm remembering all the best writers and musicians having their whole portfolios stolen from them. A big one for me was John Fogerty. But he wasn't the only one. Maybe no mansions and private planes involved in the way Big Push does it, but it is theirs and will always be theirs.
Another fun aspect of this mashup that's often overlooked is that each song pays homage to Bob Marley in some way. Of course, "I Shot the Sheriff " is a Marley favorite. "Road to Zion" was originally by Damian Marley, Bob Marley's son. "A Little Bit of Luck" is cheeky. It was originally by DJ Luck & MC Neat (and later sampled by Bugzy Malone). It doesn't draw from Bob Marley at all, but, of course, Marley did have a song, "Help Me Make it Through the Night." Finally, Dead Prez use a Bob Marley quote, "one thing 'bout music, when it hit you feel no pain" to open Hip Hop.
I’m convinced the suspenders are magical. Can you imagine being lucky enough to walk up to this? I’m dying for a Big Push vinyl. Maybe one day. Thank you for this. I really needed it today.
And Romain Axisa has his own career now, also worth to check him out. :o) ruclips.net/video/sEzhMkLvOkw/видео.html The Big Push was a totally brilliant band. Love them to bits. Thank you for your reaction, Aron, awesome! 💙
You’ve got to hear his Django Reinhardt inspired guitar on Murderer live. He also references him on the hunger. He also has parts of Cab Calloway in his music - you need to love music and dig to know those artists. You’d love back on 74, Marvin Gaye stylee intro. You’ll get the blunt in - what you want, the beastie boys homage. Love your reaction. Subscribed. ❤️👍🏽👍☘️
In this great busking session, after the Road to Zion, I also hear them playing "With a Little Bit of Luck" by DJ Luck & Mc Neat. Then as I see the drummer watching Ren setting the pace change for the Hip Hop rap, I hear Ren saying something like: "Like drum and bass now" to the rest of the band members. They are all great in their own right, and I think like a great ensemble, they pay attention to each other watching for cues.
I am so glad you took the time to look up the garage song *With a Little Bit of Luck by MC neat and DJ Luck. Ren has introduced me to so many different artists and styles of music, I would never have before listened to. He does have a tendency to "swallow" the endings of some words, especially words ending in "ght", but here it was the "ck"!! Glad you enjoyed this. I figured it would be your kind of vibe.
Great reaction 👍👏👏 this is my favourite Ren performance, he just looks so good, 👌 😍 he doesn't drop a note, so brilliant, especially hip hop rap. The cameramen did a good job too. ❤
Years of busking and playing together different every day, makes their pool of songs huge and you would be surprised what is actually on the fly. As Ren said himself his adhd can be a superpower lol.
"one good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain", the first line on Dead Prez Hip Hop and that later was also used by Drake, is originally the opening verse on Bob Marley's Trenchtown Rock, so Ren and the Big Push chose to tie it all together around that feeling that music can heal all bad.
I love the way you pause, research and get right back in it. I don't see reactors doing that and it just leaves a lot of questions which I believe is primarily a driver for us to comment to answer their questions and feed the algorithm. So! Here's my unsolicited comment and thanks for the professionalism ❤
Thank you. Yeah I'm all about understanding and authenticity. In the end, I HOPE those things are enough but don't believe - at least for reaction videos - in forcing comments when I can look something up. Btw, I only recently started doing that but finding it makes a ton of sense when I can spend one or two minutes and cut. Anyway, I appreciate you!
So happy you did it 😁 This mashup is so fire 🔥 If you want to hear an other incredible medley by Ren, listen to Fred Again mashup... Ren's always been a huge fan of Fred Again and the live performance he did is phenomenal... His singing on this one is delicious... 😉 Thanks 😘
His band mates are amazing musicians also, and they all take their turn at singing and playing bass too. Check out Paint it Black for Gorman singing and Ren on bass
I absolutely love Bongo Bong by TBP, it's a Manu Chau cover but it's absolutely brilliant!! It never fails to put a smile on your face. Also you should do the War Pigs medly from this same session. Brilliant too!
The Big Push are fantastic 😅. Wade in the Water (Ren on bass) and Swan Song (Ren playing a Melodica) are my favorites. Dignity close behind. I enjoy your reactions ❤
@@Codex7777As a habit, I do. And out of respect for you and wanting to hear your feedback and always improve, I rewatched this just now (something I usually don't do because I'm just too busy) and in almost every case, did indeed do so. The one noticeable one I didn't was when I stopped the video to go look up With a Little Bit of Luck and spent a couple mins doing so so clearly got sidetracked. But I remember hearing that when editing and went and listened to the original at that time to ensure I didn't miss anything (in which case I would have added a note to the video). There was one minor case that was a super quick pause at an appropriate place towards the beginning but that was at good spot and I would have rewound if necessary. I appreciate you and your feedback...hence going back and rewatching. But I do indeed as a practice go back after pausing...if you rewatch you will see this is true in every case other than what I mentioned. I will work to go for a perfect one next time 😄. That said, I do understand the concept and have been applying since my very first reaction. Thanks again
Really enjoying your reactions! BUT YO!! You really really need to check out Ren’s Fred Again mashup 👍🏼👍🏼 It’s just him in an empty room with a guitar, and it’s SO GOOD 😊
It's on my list to react to this weekend (I do about 80% of all reactions on Saturdays when I have time) so it would probably be public in about 7-10 days (members should have it Saturday or Sunday)
Haha yeah I found it after I did this and did a reaction to it. Will be edited and made available to members today or tomorrow and public in probably about a week

By far my favorite "song" by the big push. Ren is so good at mixing up different genre :)

RENegade here, this band is absolutely phenomenal! Very tight and amazing musicians, all of them! Great reaction!
Thanks!
Awesome reaction sir! UK 🇬🇧 Renegades send love and respect ❤❤😊
Ren said his favorite song with the Big Push is “Swan Song”. The lyrics are nothing but Shakespearean (its an original of theirs).
Ten....do you mean Ren?
@ 😂 I did (edited). Lemme know if you want the breakdown of the lyrics before or after the reaction 🙏🏼👍
Ah- he's changed his mind. At Secret Garden Party, he said Dignity is favorite TBP song!
@@LoutTsu As Ren often says, "This is my favorite today, tomorrow who knows".
@@Sheilla357 I don’t blame him. They’re all great.

The Big Push are even better as a group than they are solo and I don't know how that's even possible. They feed off each other's energy so well.

War Pigs comes directly after this song with this song being the "massage" and War Pigs being "the kick in the face". 🤣🤣
He reacted to War Pigs a couple weeks ago---check it out.
Thank you War Pigs was my first The Big Push reaction
@@CabinFever52 I saw it was simply referencing the intro to War Pigs (that's like getting a massage and then a kick in the face).

This is the best mash up and performances. My favourite busking video.
Gorrain and romaine are both monsters and excellent performers in their own right (the bass player and lead guitarist)
War pigs was right after this which while different is also good. Same red suspenders.
So this was the massage 😎❤️💛💚🖤✊🏿🇯🇲🏴
Oranges bouncing worked for me! 😉😆👍🏻🇬🇧
The whole band was hot that day! Quite the performance! What I would have given to be in that crowd in Brighton that day! History was made, for sure.
Nice one, and such an epic performance....
They went right from this mash up to Black Sabbath....same street show. I would have paid good money to have seen that live.
Think I really love your reactions due to you understanding music so well and the origins - you are really good at this

Love this so much!!
What a feel good few minutes in time ❤
tight! i love Rens voice in wade in the water! hugs
Hey, A-Aron, have you ever heard of a Dutch singer, Caro Emerald? I think you would enjoy Caro Emerald Live - A Night Like This @ Sziget 2012.
This goes in the mashup hall of fame.
I really hope you'll check out Swan Song, for something completely different, yet again!
