Hi Claudia. Glad you liked it. Thanks for the feedback. Yes the hoho buses are waiting at the piraeus port when you disembark. They'll be there before you get through the terminal. Ray.
👋! Did you disembark in Athens as scheduled? We will be on explorer this summer and booked a private tour at the acropolis and our dock time is 7am- and tickets at acropolis are now timed. I can either book 8-9 or 9-10 with grace period of 15 minutes on either side of the entrance window. Tour company says 8-9 is fine. Would love to know your experience getting off the ship. Thanks!!
We got off the ship in good time. If the tour company say the earlier slot is OK, then go with it. We got to the Acropolis via the hoho bus so would go for the water slot if this was what you were doing.
Hi Camilla. We went on the hop on hop off bus from the port. The first part is a transfer to stop A4, the Acropolis. That stop is the hub for all the bus routes. You can then go up to the ticket office a buy a ticket for the ruins hoho bus is €20pp for the day and Acropolis is also €20 entry fee. We have another Athens and Acropolis video on the channel so take a look at that for more tips and advice. When you're finished your routes, go back to A4 and they will transfer you back to the port. Hope that helps. Ray
Thank you so much Ray very helpful information! The bus waits for everyone to finish the acropolis to countinue the route? The issue is that I just have 8 hrs in Athens so I must be fast 😢
Hi Camilla. the bus company know that there are lots of their passengers doing the bus tours and the Acroplolis who originate from the port. . Thats why they do a 30 minute transfer between the port and stop A4, the acropolis. They also let you know when the last transfer bus will go back to Piraeus as they know when the cruise ships depart. A4 stop is the central hub for all lines, so if you are there already, you wont have a problem getting the bus back to port. They are responsive to demand too so if there are a lot of port transfers needed they will put another bus on.
Hi Christine. We got the hoho bus straight there in the morning. We spent about 3 hours there in total. Spent about 1 hour on the hoho bus to the Acropolis stop and queuing for tickets. It was a hot day, so after we carried on the bus tour and then they transferred us back to the cruise port in Piraeus. Hope that helps but you can choose how long you want to stay determined by your ship departure. The bus tours stop at 6pm I believe. We didn't go into the theatre but the theatre of dionysius is featured in that video. Stay tuned as we will soon upload a fuller hoho bus video of Athens which includes a walk through Athens as well. Thanks for watching. A sub to our channel is totally free too! There's not much free these days id there?. Regards. Ray.

Thanks. Did you pre purchase your Hop on Hop off bus tickets ?
No, you just buy the ticket outside at the bus. You could prebook, but really not necessary.
