Would it be worth putting V-Cam in a RB26 swapped 240z or just go 2.8 in the future? Did some calculating and found the step 2 stroker kit with pro V-Cam would be the same price as the high response stroker kit. Turbos are old school HKS 2530's and ecu will be a Haltech Elite 2500.
Would depend on applicantion, if it's a low grip car the extra torque may just be to much. But if it can put the power to the ground a vcam really wakes up the mid range. It's all about balance
Do you know the difference between the rb25neo set up and the HKS Vcam for the 26? I actually saw someone made a kit for the Rb26 using the NEO set up. I would love the Vcam but it's quite an expensive kit (worth it though especially for a street car).
Super similar both are adjustable via solenoid control but the hks is a more modern setup. Its uses the gear from a Subaru i believe and gives super accurate timing changes
Vtc changes the power band, and no, it does increase power in any rpm. It allows you to get the most power by increasing/decreasing it depending on rpm,load & other factors
So this is why there's never nothing going on at Jack's shop now.
I've got a v cam pro setup about to go in at some point. I would LOVE to see an install video :)
