Every time you say brain fog my brain replaces the word fog with another word that is still appropriate but not something to say on the tube. I was cheering you on because new skills are difficult to learn. You made amazing yarn.
Yay! You did it! It does take a bit of practice to know how to hold your hands and make the fibre glide onto the yarn. I use my Jumbo flyer and slow the wheel down. Set your tension so the the hand holding the yarn is basically guiding instead of gripping, then use the thumb and second finger of the same hand to draft onto the yarn. I made a couple of skeins of spiraled yarn using a core. So much fun and you really don't need a lot of fiber to make it.
I love core spinning it’s so fun. I’m glad you enjoyed it too Sadie. Your yarn is very pretty and just my cup of tea with those colours. 👍 oh and I did the menopause without meds too.
Haha Sadie you are so cute !! 😂❤. Well done looks amazing yarn - no wonder you are delighted and excited - brought a massive smile to my face. Will definitely try it too xx
Great Things are done by those who spin :) You sure did it too! Delightful Vid - I learned a lot. Your Nid/Nod twist technique was new to me too. Thanks for that PLUS sharing your Great Thing Delight.
Yahoooo you did it & a very enjoyable video loved seeing & sharing your excitement Awesome go Sadie👏🏻👏🏻 I will be watching out for the spiral next Loved the niddy noddy trick I will have to try it thanks for sharing Sadie ❤
Thank you so much, Susan. I am so glad you enjoyed it. I love trying new things, but I think I prefer trying them for the first time with all of you as I seem to enjoy it more lol, I think I say to myself well I'm not alone if it goes wrong we can all have a laugh xxx
@@sadiesspincraft6319 that’s right I know what you mean 🤣🤣🤣 I must admit I had a wee giggle when the skein slipped off the niddy noddy 😂 ( sorry) lol Take care 🌹
Sadie don’t worry about brain fog darling, I’m a bloke, I haven’t got menopause and yet I’ve got really bad brain fog and memory issues lol, good to see you getting your priorities right to having a brew ☕️ the other thing I wanted to say was that if you are ever contemplating weather to show something you are doing , always go with showing it as you don’t know how much it helps us beginners just seeing how you do something, thank you again for sharing your experience with us, God bless
Hi Sadie, I did my first core spin the other day. When I watched Tamsin she peddled the wheel anti clockwise then you get the fibre going over the top. I think its slightly easier? I made a big lumpy bumpy yarn which I then weaved into a scarf. You did great, it looks gorgeous. xx Ps Same here in regards to the menopause and not liking to take medication 💜
Ah, maybe that's where I went wrong. I shall try that next time. I hate taking tablets if I don't need to, so if brain fog and sweats are all I get, then I will roll with it, lol xx
Hi Sadie, I hope you're OK xx ❣️❣️❣️❣️ I love your Corespun Handspun Yarn it looks amazing, beautiful and so squishy. You should have watched the one Kim did during the TDF it was Spun with added Sequins it was a yellow and white one. If you're going to weave with Art/ Novelty Yarns you don't even need to wash them apparently you steam set them or just weave without doing anything. These are all hints and tips I've picked up.🌟🌟🌟🎉🎉 I did do a Thread Ply after you did it and actually loved the way it turned out. Now need to try this out. If Sadie can do it, then so can I. Thanks for sharing this video podcast and your expertise and for the inspiration you give us. 🌟☀️ I made a Scrap Fibre Batt yesterday after watching you make your Art Batt, wasn't sure how I was going to spin it. Now I know exactly how I'm going to spin it up. Thankyou so much for the inspiration. 🎉🎉🌟🌟 I went through the menopause early too. I didn't take medication because of everything else I have. But there are other alternatives that your Doc can do. One big tip though, if you need help then ask for it. Email me if you want or text, I'm always glad to help as you know. Never tried a corespin before but you have inspired me to give it a try! Also, you've just taught me that brilliant way to use the niddy noddy to get a proper twisted skein... thank you SO much .
I'm so glad I hope you have as much fun learning a new technique just like myself, and I've always done that as with my back I can't hold my arms up long enough without that extra support, but you are very welcome xx
Your corespun yarn looks gorgeous! So much better than my first attempt. I used a fuzzy linen thread as my core, and the finished skein could practically stand up by itself. Lol!
Thank you, and yes, I want to be able to do it to a point of a perfect balance. lol, that is probably going to be like when I stayed awake for 24 + hrs to get the chain ply to how I could do it without thinking, lol. I can see it coming xx
I was thinking of doing that and what would you suggest for the best type of yarn to ply it with to get a spiral yarn so I know it needs to be finer than the core spun or can I spin a single and use that. And can you actually see the colour of the yarn/single used. Xx
@sadiesspincraft6319 you'll be able to see what you ply with peeking through. Use one of your own singles for fun but the fiber the better. Then it'll nestle into the fiber wrapped over the core and make it poofier.
