      It's a really great point. Someone who is completely dedicated to their craft, but at the same time doesn't let it consume them and make them angry or unfulfilled. That's an incredibly hard balance to strike.

    Damian Lillard is the definition of game winner. In any of the games that have been closed down for the blazers, it was Dame's doing. You never see a game and say, he didn't do enough

      The notable exception is G7 against the Nuggets in the 2019 WCF, when CJ held it down. Even still, Dame did lots of the little things to support CJ and the team in getting the W.

    For the Houston one I was living in an Apt in Portland and when he hit it you heard a huge roar from 90% of the units , we hadn't won a play off series for more than a decade, was immense. I feel like since then the NBA has changed and Portland has changed, there isn't the same connection. God bless Dane though, greatest sportsperson Oregon has ever had the priledge to call our own

    Game 5 vs Denver I feel like is the most overlooked lillard game. He hit two buzzer beaters to send it to overtime twice and had 55 points on really good efficiency. It's really a shame they couldn't win that game

    I had season tickets to the Blazers going into Brandon Roy's 2nd year. I got to witness first hand some amazing clutch moments. Somehow when the stakes are higher, he's becomes more relaxed, more in tuned. The pressure somehow gets him into the zone better than anything else.Able to seize the moment rather than the moment seize him
    Damian Lillard is that reincarnated 2 fold.

      @@mynintendogamingfeed5208 Indeed. It's why I'm a Blazer fan for life and I'm not even a Portland native. It was magical. After that Yao made free throw the stadium was absolutely deflated. You could hear a pindrop. And on the last play I specifically remember saying in my head as Brandon shot the ball "Ah man just a desperation heave at the basket". Then the thwack of the twine. Absolute pandemonium. I'll never forget it.
      I did get to witness Dame's infamous game winners live but not in person yet the feelings were exactly the same. Hence the comparisons

    It's too bad Lamarcus didn't stay in Portland. He was perfect for that team--he went to the Spurs and nothing good happened for him OR the Spurs. If Portland was able to keep their "biggish" three together of Lillard, Batum and Alrdige, they might have had a shot at a ring--especially with a couple more solid pieces.

    i really want to see dame in the finals. dude is ice cold. he's not a big guy and limited in his ability to play multiple positions and for that reason he can't carry a team like lebron, but as far as being good at one or two things, like scoring and handling the offense, he is one of the best there is. never seen anyone hit shots from that far away in clutch situations. you cannot guard him. it's a shame he plays in a small market. in a perfect world you pair him with a big man and a good bench and they win a title.

    everybody always talks about that OKC shot as being Dame’s best but it’s really not, it’s that rockets shot.
    down 2 with .9 seconds left, haven’t made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs in 14 years, and like dame said it’s a must win game 6 at home cuz we wouldn’t win in houston, yet somehow dame chucked up a literal prayer and thus began Dame’s legacy.

    People say that Lin is a bad defender but he held Lillard to 0 shots and 0 points in the 4th quarter of that rockets game. Only 2 possessions in that quarter were defended by Beverly and Lillard only scored when they subbed Lin out and put Parsons on him

    Lillard needs to be so excited Portland is landing on an elite pick no matter who it is! He now can lead a young future superteam with Sharpe Miller or Scoot!
