It's a really great point. Someone who is completely dedicated to their craft, but at the same time doesn't let it consume them and make them angry or unfulfilled. That's an incredibly hard balance to strike.
Damian Lillard is the definition of game winner. In any of the games that have been closed down for the blazers, it was Dame's doing. You never see a game and say, he didn't do enough
The notable exception is G7 against the Nuggets in the 2019 WCF, when CJ held it down. Even still, Dame did lots of the little things to support CJ and the team in getting the W. Special player.
@@kenwanmiles403 ..as if a KD-less warriors is a no threat.. they still the 73-9 team and already champs compared to blazers.. they was beaten by experience and better bench..
JJ has become so calm and well spoken. As someone who’s been in therapy, I can see how much it helped him too. His final observation was so true, and I think JJ too is getting closer and closer to that peace. Much respect

For the Houston one I was living in an Apt in Portland and when he hit it you heard a huge roar from 90% of the units , we hadn't won a play off series for more than a decade, was immense. I feel like since then the NBA has changed and Portland has changed, there isn't the same connection. God bless Dane though, greatest sportsperson Oregon has ever had the priledge to call our own
Absolute balls of steel. As he said, the consequences for missing that shot against the rockets would've been massive. Ignored the plan and put everything into his own hands. Legend.
It's finally good to see a page where everyone gives Dame his flowers. So much hate on the guy because he refuses to join a power team. Dame will forever be remembered as an All-time great
Game 5 vs Denver I feel like is the most overlooked lillard game. He hit two buzzer beaters to send it to overtime twice and had 55 points on really good efficiency. It's really a shame they couldn't win that game
maan, i'll make it my life goal to meet you one day, best podcast out there, makes me love the game of basketball even more and everything that comes with it
I got to witness both of these electric playoff Dame time moments in person. Don't think I'll ever see a better ending buzzer beaters in my lifetime but wouldn't be surprised if he'll have another one or two more. 🤘🏻🤞🏻🍻
I had season tickets to the Blazers going into Brandon Roy's 2nd year. I got to witness first hand some amazing clutch moments. Somehow when the stakes are higher, he's becomes more relaxed, more in tuned. The pressure somehow gets him into the zone better than anything else.Able to seize the moment rather than the moment seize him Damian Lillard is that reincarnated 2 fold. Absolute joy to watch.
@@mynintendogamingfeed5208 Indeed. It's why I'm a Blazer fan for life and I'm not even a Portland native. It was magical. After that Yao made free throw the stadium was absolutely deflated. People say that Lin is a bad defender but he held Lillard to 0 shots and 0 points in the 4th quarter of that rockets game. Only 2 possessions in that quarter were defended by Beverly and Lillard only scored when they subbed Lin out and put Parsons on him
Lillard needs to be so excited Portland is landing on an elite pick no matter who it is! He now can lead a young future superteam with Sharpe Miller or Scoot! Many people forget Portland drafted Moses Malone on draft day they traded him away for a bunch of flops! Let's hope they don't do the same thing again 47 years later!
