Even one of my lab heads during internship told me that research alone isn't enough to run the kitchen in Pakistan unless you have a PhD degree or are a lecturer or assistant professor in a Pakistani university.
Scope of Biotechnology is not much in Pakistan. You will see almost all the universities offering this subject upto PhD level but when it comes to job in this subject. Their is no particular jobs demanding this subject. and it is just considered as equivalent subject to other biological subjects. R&D department is also not a good choice to focus on in Pakistan.Research facilities in Biotechnology are too less as compared to other countries,so its not a good option for that girl asking. I am saying this all with my experience being a post graduate in Biotechnology.
For the R&D question, research in Agriculture is taking place at universities like LUMS and NUST. The pay may also be good. You should try to research in such places.
