I bought the first MCX my shop got and it became a nightmare for me. First off it just didn't want to work with any magazines: Lancers, EPMs, EPM1s, Krytac Mags, and more, so I had to put velcro in the magwell. After about a year of ownership, the rail on the rear of the receiver for stock mounts broke. I ended up buying another one because I really liked the gun. At Ironhorse 2023, it broke again. I called SIG customer service and they basically told me to go pound sand. I also despise the fact the QD mounts at the rear of the receiver are fake. I wanted to love this gun, but it because such a money pit and a problem child, i would not recommend it unless you really want an MCX and know what you are getting.
I got one the the early versions of the MCX AEG and I had some initial problems, but after I did some tuning, it became my most reliable airsoft replica. It is a tack driver now. I heard that Sig changed manufacturers and some of the problems with the original versions have been solved.
That was spot on. Mine has a kythera in it but is picky with mags and the previous owner did not note the middle rail section for the folding stock being broken, so the screw always backs out on itself.
i just got the mcx and its really good i dont have any problems either than the barrel but all you have todo is un do the barrel and reinstall it and its good to go. it was even a display model so many people have messed with it. but all and all its a good aeg just have to get over the price but it should cost 350 at most
im glad youve had a good experience with yours overall! mine was a nightmare, with constant issues internally and externally. by the time i fixed it all i was too worried about breaking it to use it. the receiver wobble just scared the bajesus out of me. it also had the lvaw kit, aster, 35k asg, maple leaf hop rubber, tightbore and some more internal work. it shot fantastic, but im used to running steel lcts and they get beat on pretty hard. no way my princess would hold up to it. the only good thing is everyone still wants them, so its one of the few instances i got most of the money invested into it back when i sold it. beautiful gun, maybe if i can find a solid one ill get another. until then ill be sticking with my 416 and lcts
Loving the one I've been running for last 2 years. I got a bunch of upgrades done at a local shop, and it shoots like an absolute dream. Usually running 0.32 or 0. 36s outdoors, and am amazed with the accuracy I love the compatibility with the real steel version (ie, Midwest industries handguards) Eagerly awaiting the APFG spear LT gbbr that should be shipping in a couple weeks
Great video and point of view on the MCX! Now I haven't owned the MCX personally, but have dealt with for a while. so take my opinion with a grain of salt... HPA is the best thing you could do for the MCX. It gets rid of the battery issue, the wiring issue, and the motor issues I've seen. There's a reason why like probably 3/4 of the MCX we get in stock end up HPA. That just my opinion tho
I watched someone at Iron Horse buy one of these from the Amped van Walk out to play, and hate that thing because of how much it refused to retain mags That and the battery space made me think again about buying it
I also changed the motor when I first got this aeg. I went with an asg 2200 ultimate back in 2022. I ran 11.1v but in a mock peck box. It allows me to not take off the factory hanguard and more stability to it. I kept it stock for about a year, and they I had it converted internally to a cqb demon. But the only other issue i have is barrel wobble. Until I get the prometheus clamp that holds the barrel tighter and more secure I won't be putting a tracer on it.
I just put an Mlok RSA on the top picatinny where the hand guard meets the receiver and the wooble is no more! Just an extra step when having to change the battery.
Yeah I just switched over to xt60 connectors instead of deans for my guns. It's a little overkill for most airsoft guns tbh but they are easier to solder and I've never had an issue with them, while I've had isses with deans desoldering in the field. XT60s are a tiny bit bigger but they still work even in my smaller battery compartment in my ump45
Bought one in tan, got the Laylax rattler kit, ended up trading it because the receiver wobble was just too much for me, I would’ve loved to build mine up like yours tho
I really like it I have one jjj but I need to change the stock cuz is to short when I go to play. I buy it use on eBay and is very good the way I can change the spring is super good. Nice video very good build you have
i love that gun with a passion and wanted one since they came out, but at 600€ in france, with all these issues straight out the box, its going to be a BIG FAT PASS for me, god damn wth VFC
No idea why people dick ride VFC so hard. Their internal build quality and QC are very poor, especially considering the inflated price. The external build quality was industry leading at one point but the rest of the market has caught up to them by now and they're nothing special. They're way too overpriced for what you get. 👎
great info, you always provide your expirience after you really have done everything except hold it by the muzzle and try to take someones head off(or maybe you have). my point being you've made sure you're providing thoroughly researched and tested product info. I think they look killer by I try to buy my replicas used and haven't come across one I felt was an mcx I had to have. I unlike and a huge pussy and hate scratches and I'm way to anal to really use anything to its potential. im also not a avid player or I don't play as often as most. I practice everyday and have stints of hooliganery but have fun no matter what I use them for. I've done the swing by muzzle and shouldn't have used my old polymer combat machine. although it gave me a reason to build it into a aeg I still have and love. J.C. sorry about spewing all that nonsense. I had a question. for the price would you buy it over an lvoa if you weren't going for the low vis wan thingy? is it as good as an lvoa. I love mine and its way different than my crb that's why your choice being the krytac fanboy you are(LOL) your honest opinion what you think is overall better. just curious. as usual outstanding content. cheers
Lets just say i shouldn't call you stupid because of your purchase. My main is a MTW forged with all the fancy bits on it. (magpull grip and stock, geissele rail etc etc.) You could buy 3 MCX's with the money i invested in my main gun....

100% agree. the replica is an internal pile of shit with a externally nice body.
Yeah there shite. Get a tm mws mcx.. #Poors

*coughs in negative airsoft*
Typical airsoft quality control. Sucks you had such a string of issues, I’d be much saltier if I couldn’t fix mine to a point I was happy with!

Which motor did you swap to? I’m very inexperienced with tech work and want to make sure I don’t buy the wrong thing. My gun is stock as well
Great video and point of view on the MCX! Now I haven't owned the MCX personally, but have dealt with for a while. so take my opinion with a grain of salt...

I’m just hoping a licensed MCX Spear Lt MWS clone comes out
It already has Google toxicant
its gbb
i think these guys want an aeg version
I watched someone at Iron Horse buy one of these from the Amped van
Walk out to play, and hate that thing because of how much it refused to retain mags
That and the battery space made me think again about buying it
Two people at ironhorse also had their stock break off on their MCX. One of those people was me 😢
The mcx is pretty cool and I love mine. I like seeing things that aren't m4s

Spring access is nice!
Battery situation sucked so bad I went with a kythera and it was my first HPA M4 I was just using HPA for LMG
It seams like semi auto on an AEG just has inherent inrush current issues.
Would be nice if motor companies gave you a rating on the inrush current
They can't really do that as inrush current is determined by motor TPA, gear ratio, spring, as well as shimming.
That MCX is almost as cool as the Very Very Old Fitzgerald on the shelf 👀
I added extra strong tapped springs to mine and it solved my midcap syndrome.
Yeah I just switched over to xt60 connectors instead of deans for my guns. It's a little overkill for most airsoft guns tbh but they are easier to solder and I've never had an issue with them, while I've had isses with deans desoldering in the field. Explain the insane process to remove the orange tip
I Hpa my Mcx I love it such a nice gun
Bought one in tan, got the Laylax rattler kit, ended up trading it because the receiver wobble was just too much for me, I would’ve loved to build mine up like yours tho
So what exactly is Mid-Cap syndrome ? I would like to know since all my mags are EPM-1 😅
Great vid! Very nice looking gun. How'd you like Bad Cat? I'ma have to check it out at some point. Maybe this weekend?
Nice vid bro! Have you considered thr marui mws base mcx's? They are realy awsome from personal experience, i prefer them over its aeg brother
Great video. Thanks.
Eric, would that be okay if I can talk about my customized delta 416 AEG on your channel someday?
Do you know if the artisan lvaw rail would fit a real mcx ?
I have a question what style mock suppressor you have on there it makes it look aggressive may I ask
I really like it I have one jjj but I need to change the stock cuz is to short when I go to play. I buy it use on eBay and is very good the way I can change the spring is super good. Nice video very good build you have
I spy a CalorieMate in the background. I always knew Eric was a man of culture!
Is it worth to get if I’m immediately going to hpa it
That suppressor is really nice looking. Who makes it?
It’s part of the LVAW kit from Airsoft Artisan!
Since when is your name Eric? You're E-house from Gun Gamers!
I liked mine more for looks than function, so I traded it for a KWA LM4 because we know gas guns are super useful in the northeast
Hey... thats my replica. I love mine.. but bought replacements parts already just in case.
Would you guys change anything in the factory vfc gearbox. Just got a BCM
the whole thing, VFC is dogshit
450 USD? That's actually not bad, they're 700 USD here :(
what motor did you switch to?
ASG 35K.
The mag release issue is just like the real gun. I know this because i own it 🤣
i love that gun with a passion and wanted one since they came out, but at 600€ in france, with all these issues straight out the box, its going to be a BIG FAT PASS for me, god damn wth VFC
I’m trying to buy one now
I dont want to work on this gun
I mean I don’t want a project gun
I have the Toxicant MCX for gas blowback goodness
How are you liking yours? I have mine coming in at the end of the month!
@@cobaltsection I haven’t had it long, but I like what I’m using. Very solid constructions and shoots very well
VFC is just so insanely overpriced. Pay premium price and receive a gun that melts and has parts falling off
No idea why people dick ride VFC so hard. Their internal build quality and QC are very poor, especially considering the inflated price. Man i want an mcx so bad but i hear so many bad things about it.. fucking sucks. EDIT: I bought it and will be converting it HPA down the line.
Seems to me as an overpriced junk after hearing all the comments and reading more about it... a 500 $$$ gun should be much better than that..
