Enjoy!
He is really handsome - look forward to seeing more of him as he progresses. He is a very kind horse affectionate - looks like you have a bond already. You should be very proud of him he did great on his first outing - good luck - really enjoy your "way" w/him
He's lovely and you are so natural and understanding with him. Best of luck, can't wait to follow his progress.
Great first ride. The spookiness at animals and hedges is one of the hardest things for OTTB’s … their world at the track is so different. I’ve also said many times “I live to see another day“. I have an OTTB that ran for six years and I’ve slowly and steadily retrained her but we’ve had some massive spooks along the way. Best of luck with him. It looks like you’re off to a great start.
I absolutely love this .. I love how you are so natural with your horses and remind me of myself so much .. I can’t wait to watch your progress ❤️x
Thank you so much, that’s reassuring to know that I’m not the only “crazy horse girl” around here 😂 ❤️
The slow motion and cut at 8:10 had me in stitches hahahahaha
Hahaha glad you enjoyed 😂😂 he’s a big ol’ boy to be messing around!!
Just found your channel...lovely! Really hit a nerve, as my uncle owned a race horse & raced quite well with him locally (did not go track-to-track). Retired him to a lovely farm. Looked alot like Charlie..Big Dude & very social😆👍
Awww thank you! That’s so cool…they’re wonderful animals 💕
Finally taking the opportunity to watch some of your older videos. Am also keen to keep my horses barefoot. Sadly my horse sadly needs front shoes in summer.
I really like that you speak your mind & share you & your horses experience regarding going barefoot😊
I’m a huge advocate of barefoot horses, but I do realise not all horses can cope! Thanks for taking the time to comment 😊
@@jenniferrebecca2813 Absolutely! I wish more people would speak out about subjects like this, regarding Horsemanship.
Im glad I stumbled on your channel, looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
Thank you so much! I post every Sunday (and sometimes Wednesday’s too if there’s lots happening!)
@@jenniferrebecca2813 Nice! I’ll definitely keep an eye out😉
4 years old, 4 years old, 6 years old ... It always blows my mind that horses that I would still consider to be babies, can be called 'ex' anything.
He is lovely, I really look forward to watching your progress with this one x
I know! It’s a strange one but it’s so lovely to give them another chance at something else. Thank you ❤️
Love going bf but hooves need to b trimmed regularly. You have no breakover which is so important. Hos foreleg conformation is base wide ...he needs help, trim every few weeks.
How was he to turn out in the field my tb mare came from her racing yard yesterday but has no respect for the electric
Got a 8 yrs old gelding I’ve had for 6 or more mts that is the same issues as yours 😵💫. , hip a bit sore from a fall I think and transition from walk into a gallop shows the sign off the injury, lameness issues pelvis and off hind , soft tissue damage on top of rump 🙄 but I am getting there with him and he’s improving wis massages and oils 👍 was a race horse 🏇 as well here in aus .
He’s gorgeous. Do you still have him ?😍😍
Hes super cool
Thank you! He’s got the cutest nature as well ❤️
As an ex racehorse he may just have never developed a trot, they tend to go from walk yo canter to gallop then back down again x
You have to remember race horses have one speed and no stop.. most don’t have much training other to go fast.. no trot or canter with a rider . .
cogratulation on your sucres with this horse, mine are barefoot, botas will no make his feet adapt to the variedad terrain, why pan him when a scratch would be a reward
I know riders do it, but I don't believe in pet-slapping a horse. If they can feel a fly, they don't need to be whacked on the side of the neck. I'd like to know how many people spook their spirited horse by doing this. Just say'in.
I think most living things can feel a fly. My horses seem to respond well to pats, if they didn’t like it I’m sure I’d be able to read that from them.
I agree. Gentle petting is fine. The slapping...SMH.
i have hoof boots for my mare!!!
They’re a game changer aren’t they!!
