Now that I have a bit more time Life is so much better. Im sure its been rough and keeps being rough for everyone. Glad to be making what I like again!
Well enough! glad to have a bit to work on these each week. Looking at one video a week unless more madness happens lol. heres hoping things can calm down a bit!
Disk Cart yeah its hard but hopefully everything will get better! and dont rush with video making. staying mentally sane is a challenge but important :)
@@DiskCart never give up, never surrender 😅 (And yeah, It's sometimes hard to understand what's going on with covid in other countries when it's quite "good" in here...)
Kian!!! ah man its always super nice to jump back into it and see familiar faces! Should be back at it weekly for a bit . got a few hours a week to work on videos so I am a happy guy. Heres hoping things will eventually stablize out there. Hope you and your family are doing well and staying safe!!
I’m so torn between this and the OG pixoo... I like how thin and sharp this one is, but I actually like the original’s frame and the 16x16 bits and that it’s not so bright. Plus it’s way cheaper. Darn.
Definitely not going to be for everyone for sure. I have noticed that some of their other pixel art devices can be found on ebay for much lower than they used to be. I think its the timebox from divoom can even be found for like 20 or so if you keep a close eye. all really fun devices and all different sizes and amount of pixels. This one being the most clear/bright. Though theres one called the time box evo in my previous review that I thought was magic!
Nice to see you putting up another video. Great review but not useful for me I think. Still if you are in the market for something like this it is pretty great.
@Disk Cart - I have a question about the screen protector. The Evo came with the same thing... the top one is just a disposable thin plastic film that we often find on new products. And then under that is an actual screen protector. However, I’m wondering if the screen protector is really *needed*. Have you tried lifting it a little to see what the *actual screen* is like? My screen protector is noticeable in one corner and I’d really like to remove it, so I’m curious if the actual screen (below it) is good quality or if it seems like it might scratch easily. Divoom’s products have very high build quality, so I would think the screens they use would not be lower quality than an inexpensive screen protector. On the other hand, I’m thinking Divoom may have had good reason to put them on, since they’re applied in manufacturing instead of simply including one in the box for *us* to apply. There’s an equal argument for both thoughts, so the only way I’m going to know if I can remove mine is to find someone else who’s removed one (or at least peeled one back a little) and seen the surface of the actual screen.
Screen seems good quality to me ive had all the thin plastic protectors off for some time now. I assume the plastic was only to have the item arrive new and my guess is the plastic used for the screen protector had another cover to keep it nice too. Typically though theyd remove that prior to packaging. But heck yeah screens nice for sure!
Yeah this is a fact. If I add up the cost of the pixel pals vs this , This may have been the better road. plus it just does so many things and is permanently upgradable and changable. I cant beat it! Tho i do love the pixel pals too lol
These are so cool but I've got an old 2009 Mac Mini and an old 19" 4:3 monitor that I'd love to use to play 8-bit style pixel animations. I'd REALLY want to use the massive Divoom community library but I'm pretty sure Divoom is trying to sell hardware, not let me use the animations for free on my own hardware (even though they got them for free).
Heyoo! Thanks very much. busy with all the madness im sure people have delt with during this time. should be back unless more crazy 2020 stuff happens lol
that wouldn't work though, it would defeat the purpose of the pixoos, that the pixoos are a special kind of screen that aren't supposed to be a normal kind of screen, its pixel art
Feels good to be making videos! New video next week! Collect What You Love!

This costs 60 bucks on aliexpress.
You can also check out the Tivoo Max, it is 16x16 too and looks quite nice.
Welcome Back Disk Cart
Thank you Rickey!
I kind of want one just for emulating Star Trek TOS bridge displays.
hahahah that is such a sick idea! never would have thought!
Really interesting device. Wonder if they would consider making an arcade marquee.
oh baby yes! imagine modifying a marquee instantly!
Ooo def getting one of these for the car and game room. I’ll need to make my Avatar animated.
Yeah baby! After that comment on twitter I was like holy cow this is made for Russ s car!
This is Cool I want one
I really want one of these displays. I wish they were about half the price though :P

Indeed its quite the odd niche item. These always draw my attention especially for those sweet retro game animations,

Looks like a cool bit of tech 👍
Pretyy crazy tech indeed. Always excited to see something new like this fit into the world of gaming and Retro gaming at that!
This is crazy! Kinda eliminates the need for Pixel Pals, huh?
Yeah this is a fact. If I add up the cost of the pixel pals vs this , This may have been the better road. plus it just does so many things and is permanently upgradable and changable. I cant beat it! Tho i do love the pixel pals too lol
I just pledged. This thing looks great!
Dude its sick. By far their best. Grabbed a second one at that kickstarter price. pretty sure thisll be in the 100 - 150 zone but tis hard to tell.

This looks pretty awesome. I just backed one.
Worth it! just for that discount.
Wish I could recycle my old iPad with a dedicated case and a software that emulate the Divoom pixoo in 32/64/128 etc. Pixel.
that wouldn't work though, it would defeat the purpose of the pixoos, that the pixoos are a special kind of screen that aren't supposed to be a normal kind of screen, its pixel art
Epic love your channel and the content
Where can I get a display turn table like the one you have?
How many frames of animations are you limited to?
I'm seeing 64x64 pixel versions of the gifs. Is this compatible with that?
What's the app called?
👏👏👏👏👏
Linda the awesome girl!
You need more viewers! This is shamefully low.
