Today i had to replace this battery on a customer server. and i watched this video before that. And it helped me to change the battery with no problem! The customer was impressed by the proffesionality! Thx to this video! Big thanks to the HPE Crew! Pls upload more videos, if drastic changes occur.
A useful video! I was able to recce the location and installation before deracking a few servers which were badly installed (no slack on any of the cables so I can't pull them out on their rails), thanks for publishing it.
maybe it is possible without breaking anything, but the clip holding the battery in place is blue meaning the server should not be running when replacing. also I believe a reboot is required to initialize the new battery
@@pontusakesson856 The boot on a defective battery shows the modes are limited until battery replacement~charge. As the BBWC is not operational, and would be or could, it is safer to fully power down. Withstanding that you are removing fans and working on "live" power for the board. and not cooling the system while doing the change. I tend to change the battery, and put the server power in but not in operation for a while then fire it up. and check Bios for config availability. depends on the level of battery charge. Flat Batteries will be defective in any event and are "damaged" due to the chemistry of the battery, you should only install batteries which have NO less than 3 volts.

Will you lose the RAID config or will the drives go into a not initialized state after changing the battery?
No you won’t lose raid config. In my last client place we replaced 10 smart storage batteries and didn’t lose any raid configs.
