La Gringa Perdida I lived there for thirteen years, it’s a really beautiful place and the people are very welcoming despite the living conditions. It’s a shame it gets such a bad reputation due to all the gangs and robberies and poor people around

I'm from New York but was raised in El Salvador almost my entire life. El Salvador is an absolute gem of a country. The beaches, the mountains, the people, everything in this amazing country is beautiful. The way of living is so chill and fun. People work hard but also enjoy life because the country is so small so people can have access to the beach, the cold mountains and small beautiful towns all in one day. It's flora and fauna is beautiful. I recomend since you are at El Zonte to visit El Tunco and a friendly bar called Monkey Lala, the food and drinks are amazing and in the nights have live music on the beach and all the young people go there with their friends and party all night, the atmosphere is fun and chill and people are extremly friendly and will talk to you and ask you to join them. Lots of European people stay there and their are some European people who fell in love with the country that now are living in La Libertad beach and will tell you their stories of how they decided to stay their and just live a surfer life. You can also visit Ataco which is a town in the mountains, it is absolute paradise, their are many coffee places to visit that are surrounded by thousands of flowers and trees and views of the mountains. These places are located on La Ruta de Las Flores (The flower route) because its surrounded by thousands of flowers. Ataco is one of the safest and coloful places you will visit and many tourist visit this place. I lived in El Salvador for more than 20 yeara and honestly I NEVER EVER EVER saw anything bad. I really hate how people who haven't lived here or visited the country, talk so many bad things about ES with just hearing the news, every country has it's bad stuff and haa violence but it alao depends where you go. The violence is mostly in rural areas and it's just common sense not to go to those places. I live in New York now believe me, I have seen more violence and crime here and never saw a thing in El Salvador. Danger is everywhere and it is unfortunate that many Central American countrys get stereotyped of being bad and dangerous when in reality the people are the warmest and friendliest you will ever meet.

Regular day to day people are generally very nice, kind & helpful everywhere.
May be more people should come forward to share their first hand experience, so the point of view about the country can change.

Que bueno que haya gente que ve lo bueno que tiene nuestro país y de la amabilidad y calidez de la gente de El Salvador,ella habla básicamente de eso en el vídeo de cómo la gente se asegura que ella estuviera bien y que no se perdiera o tuviera algún problema ,lo bueno se ver videos en inglés es que aprendes más y expone lo bonito que tiene el país al mundo por qué tiene un mayor alcance! I had the opportunity to visit El Salvador this past fall for holiday. I can honestly say I felt SO safe, everyone was genuinely kinda and many had smiles on their faces. Hiking the volcanos, to visiting the beaches, visiting the markets and visiting the lakes is breathtaking! I HIGHLY recommend you visit Lago de Coatepeque! It is a lake that is famous for its Mayan history and breathtaking turquoise blue water! Have a great time in visiting this amazing country! I personally know I will be back soon 👍🏻

Thank you for being brave and not giving in to the bad reputation the media has given El Salvador.
After high school a couple of years ago i took a group of friends to ES, I was born there but lived in California most of my life. Friends from Mexico, Argentina and South Korea. I knew they were gonna like it with a little bit of culture shock maybe.. but they fell in love with everything, i was the one in shock. We were supposed to stay for only 2 weeks, and ended up staying 4, I took them everywhere. By the time we had to come back they had bonded with my family so much, specially with my mother that the 2 girls from mexico and argentina cried more then me at the airport. Hopefully Covid ends soon so we can all go back.

We, Salvadorans are crazy! Hre in the states, there's been times when I Had to drive from New York State to Texas and have met people trying to hitch a ride and I have always given them a lift, even when the signs say not to pickup hitch-hikers. We don't have much, but we'll do our best to help anybody in a bind.
I’m from El Salvador and very happy to see you’re having a great time, it’s not surprising to me that everyone is being kind to you! That’s how my people are, humble, kind and friendly! I’m glad you can show this side of my beautiful country and its people.
I recommend “La ruta de las flores”, the route of the flowers. It’s a tour of very cool small towns. If you get a chance to check out the eastern side of the country, San Miguel. La union and morazan. In la Union we have “the gulf of fonseca”. In Morazan, we have the “alegría” lagoon which is in a volcanoe crater, there’s perquin which is a cooler climate where you’ll find lots of wooden cabins where you can stay at. If you can’t make it to all the points this time around, I hope you go back and keep exploring my beautiful and beloved El Salvador ❤️ safe travels!

Hi i’m glad you had great time, i haven’t gone there for 5 years I live in The USA , there sre so many beautiful places you can visit , lakes , some villages and towns that are touristic, such ad suchitoto , ruta las flores, Ataco , coatepeque so many , not too long a couple from Australia sailing around the world got there to the golf of Fonseca its Beautiful....

Salvadorian here, live in England. Glad that you had a nice time. Its crazy listening to what you said before I moved here I gave it for granted but now I appreciate it. Generally speaking in El Salvador people are genuine and that's a hard thing to find anywhere else.

I literally cry hearing how nice People of El salvador have been to you, my People, because I know how rude People in other countries are with foreigners and Ive been there, los not knowing what to do or with that language barrier and here it is very different. Salvadorians have suffered a lot and we are very empathic and kind because we all have been there and we all know how it feels like to need something. That is why I love El salvador as well and I also think it is unfare the way its described out there.

My parents are from E.S. and when I went out and visit El Salvador I was so in love that I didn't wanted to to come back, you should go to Sam Diego beach or Costa del Sol, those beaches are still on my mind, I'm glad you had such a nice days in my country.

I was born in El Salvador, been in the USA since 1971, don't know much about my country, I only remember a few things about it when I was a kid. I want to go back and visit; I still have family there that I have not seen in many, many years and I think is about time. Thank you for the video, this has helped me to make a decision on going!

I'm from El Salvador and I think you should go to "El imposible", it's like a forest(?) and also you should visit "Los Cóbanos" beach. I freaking love those places, and I'm sure you're wonna love them too.

I currently live in Calgary, AB, Canada (next to the Rockies) but I was born and raised in El Salvador, and I couldn’t be more surprised that you ended up in Mizata, that’s where my family and I used to spend the weekends, it’s beautiful
It was a fairly small place for me to choose but just wanted a little relax time
Your video is so incredible, I'm from el Salvador and sometimes is so disappointing the reputation that el Salvador has in other countries, however is amazing place with incredible people willing to make el Salvador a better place.

I went to San Salvador for 2 weeks. I didn't hear any sirens or see any kind of violence. I went to many small towns, a few beaches and a couple shopping malls and had an incredible time.
I really enjoy watching these type of videos. El Salvador is like just any other interesting Country to visit at! Beaches, Volcanoes, Lakes, Hills, Culture and obviously Salvadorian people (y)
