If playing 10 hours of this game has taught me anything it's that being impatient and mashing punch like all the previous DBZ games(not counting fighterZ) is not gonna help you at all unless you are fighting an under leveled enemy. Wait and watch for signs when the enemy is about to attack. Some are easy to dodge some take more practice.Wait for enemy to calm down then clobber him with normal attacks and special attacks(if you have time) until he turns red.then back tf up and repeat.
Again similar to new ff with noctis or even monster hunter where if you keep wailing on the enemy at a lower level your going to die from getting hit too much. Its alot of patients and definitely an action rpg kinda game.
The game's great so far, but I hate that the better combos are locked behind the skill tree. Special moves in the skill tree is fine, but having a crappy combo until the Frieza Saga sucked. Enemies having super armor all the time sucks too. I also hate the damn stun system. There's nothing fair about it, you're always slowed down, and left open to attacks(especially spam happy Nappa). And you cant see your own stun bar. If that's locked behind the skill tree too, that's bullshit.
They have a purple bar under their health you basically need to break them by using attacks that inflict heavy stun or gaurd break damage then you can combo the crap out of them
Yeah this was my main issue with the game. They just over power the enemies attacks and makes it made difficult to just fight period. I really love the challenge don’t get me wrong but the shit is pretty damn cheat how he can fly thru a super attack and I can’t for shit 😂
Thanks for the vid yaya I just installed the game today and fought the opening fight with piccolo and I almost lost because I was so used to xeonverse combos the vid really helped‼️
Every time I send an enemy flying I NEVER get a prompt for a follow up attack. My only option is to hit X or L3 too quickly move over to them but by then they’ve recovered and are hitting me back or blocking my combos.
Game changes when supersayian 2 vegeta hits enemies with a Big Bang stack and one shots all 4 of them and if anyone’s alive I go ssj3 3 and drop a spirit bomb unless they a stupid high level Bc than that will only do like 20 damage
I'm further in the game, on namik, chasing captain ginyu. I wasnt having a problem till now. Anytime I try to hit anyone the hit me away or do the thing where they glow red and it's impossible to stop them, you dont even get a chance to attack, I use so much of the health refill items, it's so annoying
Still on the fence about this one. It’s on sale for $17.99 right now on PSN. I played the demo and wasn’t in love with the combat. But the demo I played didn’t really explain the system
Honestly, same with me. I fell in love with the game after the demo, and I just had to have more experience. The demo was the hook…. and I’ve been “absORBed” 😉 ever since. 🤗🥰
If you over power the enemies in the area there's not a retreat button but something thats quite better. It takes timing but if you see the enemy heading your direction just hit the R3 button and boost towards the enemy you'll instantly defeat enemy while gaining exp and other stuff. WAAAAY more useful than retreating.
I discovered this Mid-game, it’s definitely a game changer. I just had fun zipping through enemies left and right. I had one scenario where they were coming at me constant and I was just constantly zipping through them and leveling up my characters…😄
I didn’t know that you could lock onto an enemy while they are approaching you in the open world. I knew you could speed boost into them and instantly kill them but didn’t know about the lock on feature. I’m gonna test this out
Man I’ve been using that whis and beerus dlc I’m upgrading EVERYONE. I’m already a ssjg (red) and in the main story I’m only just now fighting android 17/18 (my arm just got broke by 18) I’m destroying everyone
I played the shit out of Xenoverse 2 but the fighting got so repetitive and boring, but thats because there wasent really much to do besides fight. theres so much stuff you can do between fights i find myself going 30 mins between big fights
This game is definitely an 8 when it comes to fun and dopamine levels. But its not more fluid than Xenoverse 2 within battle gameplay in my opinion. Kakarot requires momentum and timing while Xenoverse 2 is more stragetic while at the same time faster, can be way more creative with chaining combos more directly without momentum. However, what limits Xenoverse 2 is its stamina management and that snap vanishes are consuming that instead of Ki. Its should be more like Tenkaichi 3 where everything goes via Ki except the special abilities which mostly dont do damage and serves more to evade or to stall enemies. I hope that they do DBZ Kakarot 2, again following the Z plot but with more better story presentation and side quests, not cutting out significant events like Vegetas final flash. Maybe the cutscenes a bit more violent and paced out like in the Anime( they did tame it a bit, Gohan not getting kicked in the neck by Recoome was dumb and is part of his strength growth). Basically a Kakarot 1.5 that is more refined, and uses more from the DBZ lore, canon and non canon to give a better gameplay loop, and also refine the battle system a bit. R2/ZL/RT should do more than just up and down while dashing, let the battle system take a bit more from the 3D DBZ fighting games.
Old vid I know Just in case u never realized There is an escape option I always knocked them away from me and z-boosted backwards away from the randoms No escape from main battles tho
The only thing I'm not liking so far about the game is it worth collecting. There are so many and they're just sitting there it really makes you feel like you need to be going around collecting them all and you kind of do if you want to unlock the special abilities. Of my 6 hours of gameplay I think two or three are just me flying around like a Norms I haven't even fought Raditz
I have beaten the game completely and have a platinum trophy nothing left to do on it they should still add a hard mode the game was way too easy I even tried going through it without levelling up
Great guide, although from what you said i wouldnt recommend not grinding because it makes doing the DLCs too hard, i finished all the main arcs and i can only barely beat Beerus, great guide otherwise i learned a few things 😉
I hate how the game slows down when I'm trying to do back to back Super Attacks, but besides that, its brilliant and definitely feels better than Xenoverse's constant, obnoxiously repetitive combo system
Being four months late, you probably already figured this out or don´t even play it anymore, but you can turn off the slow motion while selecting super attacks in the options menu.

Kinda like Kingdom Hearts 3 on critical.
I love that this game is a lot like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, especially with the slow mo to select abilities. thanks for the fighting tips!
Dash full speed and tackle them to stun, use super, spam and repeat. If you’re in enhanced mode super becomes instant.
The Game Actually Tells You Most Of These Stuff... It's Just That Lots Of People Don't Read All What The Game Has To Say.
nice to see this from a dbz fan. i think this game is one of the best if you wanted to be goku et al.
U can retreat from a battle, just click r3 to take your target of an enemy and fly away 👍
I wish we could just get Budaki tenkchi 3 for PS5 with online mode.
Best DBZ game ever with simplest controls and so much fun.
@@BollyToHolly sparking zero is out now
@@ThatAnimeFan-nt4pu YESSSSS 🫱🏽🫲🏻🤍😭 MY Gf is planning to get it for me during Christmas and that's the only reason I'm not buying it right now.
How do you deal with enemies using combo breakers. That burst thing they do to stop you from smashing their face in.
This game is awesome.
Ah dude vid is mint! I'm loving it too watched legend of broly and then got it right after! Been loving it!
when used the first kick from enemys back, you can use any strike move ( not kamehameha, galick gun etc. )
I have to beat the subs b4 continuing the story. Ive been binging
Just dodge lmao
5:54 „DONT YOU DARE TOUCH MY BULMA“!😎
Just got past cell. Clocking about 56 hours so far
I'm only at the vegeta fight, but this feels like what Xeno should've been
Still on the fence about this one. It’s on sale for $17.99 right now on PSN. I played the demo and wasn’t in love with the combat. But the demo I played didn’t really explain the system
Don’t buy it then if it isn’t for you. Find something else that is. Have you played Detroit Become Human?
Honestly, same with me. I fell in love with the game after the demo, and I just had to have more experience. The demo was the hook…. and I’ve been “absORBed” 😉 ever since. 🤗🥰
If you over power the enemies in the area there's not a retreat button but something thats quite better. It takes timing but if you see the enemy heading your direction just hit the R3 button and boost towards the enemy you'll instantly defeat enemy while gaining exp and other stuff. WAAAAY more useful than retreating.
yeah we know this now.
B,B,B,Y or ⏺⏺⏺🔼= pushback after combo
B,B,B,X or ⏺⏺⏺X=ki blast after combo
They have a cancel combo if you dash while flicking the Left stick to continue the combo to hit for more dmg and also stun your opponent
Yo if you hold block and get hit by an attack and immedaitely press A you teleport behind them. Does take some ki tho
ima make up soo many cool combos...ima pick up this game this weekend m happy its different from xenoverse 2 and has similarities from db fighterz
You can exit random battles by unlocking target, then turn around and just fly away
Old vid I know
Just in case u never realized
There is an escape option
I always knocked them away from me and z-boosted backwards away from the randoms
No escape from main battles tho
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is the best Dragon Ball Z game I've played cuz that's the only Dragon Ball Z game I played
Great video bro!!
was able to take down villanouse enemies 10 levels higher than me after watching your intro!
Awesome video, I agreed with like everything you said, I think it’s the best story dragon ball game because of its immersion
Love the music at the beginning of your video from Budokai 3. Easily my favorite DB fighting game.
Is that a new RUclips feature, when you said press like in the video a rainbow circle went around the like button.
Thanks for the video, the game is awesome 🤙
I was hesitating to buy the game but with the combos you have shown I think I will buy it.
Asked for 50+ got 5k+ glad to see it growing
We need to ask them to put hard mode in the game so it makes it more challenging
YES
You can by using the dragon balls to wish for a harder boss opponent
Enemies at the training machine kick my ass if I go without a party. Try it, it’s a real challenge
I have beaten the game completely and have a platinum trophy nothing left to do on it they should still add a hard mode the game was way too easy I even tried going through it without levelling up
This video literally helped me, LITERALLY!! But for reals, this game is so dope!!
In case ppl still dont know if you speed fly in the open and run into a grunt its an instant finish and some small exp lol
This one of my favourites for sure.
the only dragonball games i ever played is fighterz and kakarot, the best two games ever.
I’m on 18 hours of play time and I’ve only just got past the cell saga lmfa
Ultimate DBZ same
60 hours and just passing cell. I'm crazy OP
G Roll get the most out of the game that you can I guess :)
Great guide, although from what you said i wouldnt recommend not grinding because it makes doing the DLCs too hard, i finished all the main arcs and i can only barely beat Beerus, great guide otherwise i learned a few things 😉
On combo the x finisher will do some multihit attack. Charge with 3 hits on gohan for the exemple.
I'm just starting on Zarbon all the sorry fighter are hard and the good fighters is easy lol
So I just got this game yesterday and Idk if should start over im not doing so well with dodging and stuff idk kinda disappointing feel like they made it more complicated then what I should've been
Just found ur channel bro, New subscriber 💯
I got a quick question in a battle with different opponents how you switch to different opponents and how do you do the charging swing like the enmy they kinda charge ki and swing nasty how do y'all do that I would like to know that
Am I the only one who don’t know how to go up during a fight 😭
Ibrahima Roussel lol
Lol I struggled figuring that out 😂
I just figured it out hahah but its complex to explaij 🤔
Armand Harris nah it ain’t like that. When you are in battle, you hold r2 and move the joystick up to go up, and down to go down, all while holding r2
Just unlock from them and go up using R1 I think it was or it was L1
You can retreat. If you just fly away in the middle of a fight you’ll escape :)
Played it 30h now and only died twice! That game ain't hard, but very funny to play. Actually i love it. Looking forward for the dlc's! 💪🏼
Same the only time I died was accidentally getting caught in a villainous boss who was lvl 29 when I was gohan at the beginning at the game
Yo brother I need help. What is the little flame charge bar on the right bottom corner next to the character faces ? And how do I use it if I can in a battle thanks !!
Does no one know that you could easily retreat from a battle when not doing a story mission or side quest by just clicking the right analog stick to take off the lock on .. ?
Yeah take the lock off and run away from the enemies
He wishes for 50 likes he gets 1.5K :D :D
good job with the video, keep it up!
Awesome vid.. got a new sub👍
There is a retreat but it never actually tells you how iirc, press R3 to untarget and then speed boost in the opposite direction and you'll escape combat
What’s it called when you both use your ultimates and you have to spam x or something to beat the opponents ultimate
