Honk, Wail, & Moan - Community Jazz

Formed in 1991, Honk, Wail & Moan crosses paths with the music of Sun Ra, Charles Mingus, Ellington, Miles Davis, Frank Zappa, Raymond Scott, Lightnin Hopkins, Howlin Wolf, and Stravinsky, and are influenced by everything from Avant Garde to New Orleans Traditional to Film scores and Cartoon music.
HWM have performed all over Columbus, the Midwest, and beyond, with stints in Thailand, Philadelphia, Virginia Beach and NYC. “Roundly entertaining; raucous; inventive; serious musicianship with a wacky sense of humor; swinging in a head-nodding, foot-tapping, enveloping fashion” among other things!
The Community Jazz concerts are free events produced by the Jazz Arts Group that bring a diverse selection of jazz musicians and styles from all around the Columbus area straight to JAG.TV! Our goal is to provide free performances for all to enjoy again and again!
