Great video and very educational to boot. Had to prove a point with my son-in-law. He could never understand just how visibility can get to 0% in a structure fire. He finally got to see what I was talking about. Stay safe.

I noticed a few comments about the fact that he was running to the scene. Its a sense of urgency. If he hadn't ran there would have been comments that he was too slow. How do we know what his departments sop is upon arrival. He rushed to do his job, protect life and property that should be commended.

HBG has Squad 8 and Wagons. What's the difference? How are they different from Engines that other departments have?

Definitely get the sense of urgency here when you had to run, but maybe you should tell the engineer to park the Squad closer next time :P Some strong work on this brother. In Squad We Trust, stay safe.

quick question -do you think that that second line would have been more useful doing a few minutes of hydraulic ventilation out that walk door ?

Negative there was fire in the basement.

To be clear , I am talking about using the combo nozzle for negative type ventilation which I have used a lot of times to clear some smoke . I had the impression that the line that came down the stairs had knocked down all visible fire. And they were having trouble finding hidden fire.@@joekuhn40

Negative, with active fire in the basement, that’s the last thing you want to do.

He’s right, slow down. You were huffing and puffing by the time you made it to the Charlie side. And you still had all the work to do. Relax
