Wrong... I don't agree with her overall point, but performing on Juneteenth is for black people. Doesn't mean no one else can go or celebrate. But not everyone ancestors were victims of government-sanctioned US human trafficking that Juneteenth is about. And it's so complex that even after the June 19th news reached that town in Texas, there were STILL perpetrators enslaving our people. It took years and years to completely undo slave labor in the south.
That's for everyone to know. That is not for everyone to pretend they know the grief of triumph of the victims.
