It's so weird how easily the humans and their vehicles get destroyed, but we're supposed to believe they've survived this long and fought back this well.
This has always been a problem with the franchise. The idea that a human resistance could defeat an enemy like Skynet, after having all of their infrastructure wiped out and the environment irreparably damaged is just ludicrous. Even without the ever-more-deadly machines systematically hunting them down, just finding enough food to sustain a viable population is going to be impossible.
Edit: For a better robot apocalypse scenario, look up the Faro Plague from Horizon Zero Dawn. The Chariot line makes Skynet look like a chump, and it's not even self aware.
@@cass7448 good point. The struggle to feed a population capable of mounting a resistance, particularly with the sky blotted out like this was the Matrix, would be effectively impossible.
@@cass7448 Totally agree.
@@dac314 At least the Matrix was honest enough to recognize that the resistance stood ZERO chance against the machines, and only survived because the Architect let them.
@@cass7448 you underestimate human instinct when backed into a corner.
Technically speaking, the Nazis could have won world war 2 if they hadn't made a few major mistakes, but logistically the German war machine was the best on earth at the time. Their tanks and rockets were a solid generation ahead of the entire planet.
It is only because of their hubris that they owned the future that they miscalculated economically and politically. Just like skynet. Skynet keeps making value judgments on static data, it has no concept of a future, and that's why it always loses.
Skynet is trying to kill john connor because it thinks john connor is the key, but in every iteration it is not connor that is the key. Whoever is most moral becomes who connor needed to be, because of ideals because of a possible future. Humanity will always create more john conners because we as a biotechnology are evolving while terminators definitionally cannot. We literally cannot stop living. We are programmed to live far more powerfully, with trillions of years of coding, compared with a few decades of skynet coding to kill.
We are sheep when we are at peace but when humans are threatened we are snakes. If faced with an existential threat, we adapt every time.
If they lose soldiers at that rate, how do they actually resist ? Couple of days like that and no one will remain to fight against legion...
Wouldn't have been like that under John Connor's leadership. He actually lead The Resistance to the brink of total victory, which is what prompted Skynet to send a Terminator back to 1984 as a last-ditch attempt to save itself in the first place. I can hear JC turning in his grave right now.
It's beacause john connor's not the leader

There's no way a human resistance would survive more than a week against those kinds of terminators. They took out a dozen human fighters in under a minute!
Looks ludicrous indeed. The only way they could fight would be like in animatrix, with the assistance of machines to increase firepower speed and force of soldiers. Otherwise we have to believe humanity evolved to be like the roadrunner of the cartoons.
@@ReinoldFZthat's why they enhanced the female soldier.
Does the Resistance in Dark Fate Timeline have a Pueple 40 watt Plasma Rifles? These Plasma Weapons can disintegrate and melt through metal and even a toughest hyperalloy combat chassis of T-800.
@@devilslayerthesaintofkille1317
In the time it takes you to enhance one soldier, Legion will have made 2 or even 3. Not to mention that Grace said she can only do the super-human stuff in short bursts before she needs to rest.
Grace already said that the Rev-9 would slaughter her when she was protecting Dani on the highway, it's likely that the Rev-7s, where the only difference seems to be the inability to mimic a human form, would also body an enhanced soldier like her as well. There is no chance in hell that a resistance would survive against an enemy who's main troop consists of a melee-centric machine that can split into two.
@@mystyle_jm8997 IIRC, only conventional bullets. The altered timeline in Dark Fate was seriously technologically regressed for both factions.
The movie is just bad from concept to execution.
They really took their sweet time getting off that bird. These soldiers of the future have no hustle.

I think they trying to start a new franchise this is an alternate sideline timeline it doesn't have anything to do with ours timeline. It's what I like to call a jump timeline another alternate dimension in which does another timeline for that particular it kind of sideways our dimension.

Yeah, they could just change the whole story, not rehearsing it 🤦♂️
And of course she had to die😪
No dork.
Hell yeah. Keep John alive as a Senator or some shit and just have it be Grace, Sarah, and Arnold trying to stop something.
Notice how the resistance don’t have any plasma weapons in this timeline and their weapons are mainly bullets. Also notice that the Rev sevens are all using melee weapons. This implies that Legion never developed any plasma weapons and prioritised melee weapons. But why? That is the question. I believe the explanation is that Legion was designed for cyber warfare, so it’s development of weapons was a bit slower when it came to plasma. It likely didn’t see a need to create any other weapons, because the resistance’s weapons seem to only work when the head is shot. This is shown when there is a dead Rev 7 on Grace that’s head has been destroyed. Another explanation is that the government in this timeline prioritised cyber warfare and didn’t focus on actual warfare.
For all intents and purposes, Legion IS Skynet. It was developed under a different name and different circumstances. But essentially, it is Skynet.
I'm guessing that the way time flow works in the Terminator universe, is that there are certain events that seemingly want to happen. So even tho in various timelines, Skynet is "stopped", it just finds another way to come to be instead.
In T3, Skynet was created anyway, just a little bit later.
In TG, it was an AI called Genisys, that was programmed by a Skynet Terminator.
And in TDF, it was Legion.
But they're ALL Skynet. They're all the same malevolent AI that became self aware.
@@CritStanley so they are basically all SkyNet just with different names and ways of development.
@@freedomstar3930 Yes. My head canon anyhoo
@Christopher Stanley THANK YOU. First person I've seen say skynet and legion are the same thing. It was an AI created for the same exact purpose. Doesn't matter what you name it, it's still a rouge ai that's goal became the extermination of humanity. It doesn't have a personality (debatable but the name wouldn't change that). It will still act exactly the same unless it had different directives at its inception.
@@CritStanley I don’t like to start arguments, but I think, technically, you’re right and your wrong.
See, in this timeline, Legion replaces Skynet as the main treat to humanity. Grace explained that she never heard of Skynet until Sarah told her about it. But Legion obviously takes a whole lot of inspiration from the original self-aware ai, with the creation of terminators, killing machines and trying to destroy humanity.
So yes, Legion is the new Skynet, but it was still meant to be kind of its own thing.
This whole scene is just Edge of Tomorrow 2

The plot has more holes than Arnolds leather jacket in T2
SpikeXtreme the reason why they were walking was because they were dragging the commander before the explosion and were on protective detail. The other plot holes I cannot explain.
The future scene was so poor! What the heck were those big towers as well?? Clearly the humans never built anything that thin and high because Grace said in one scene the US Army used an EMP strike on Legion wiping out most of the World's working technology. T3 surprisingly did not have much plot holes as far as time-travel was concerned (compared to rest except T1). It was not a well made film from technical POV, but a decent sequel to T2 in terms of continuity
I'm a little confused. In Skynet's future they have plasma rifles, but in Legion's future, they just have bullets? And how do they work against Rev 7's when they barely work on t800s?
its simply just because of poor writing there is no real reason or lore behind it other than poor script writing
they clearly have no real clue what they are doing with this franchise any more and are now just trying to milk it dry and make as much money out of the terminator name before it dies.
wouldn't surprise me if they come out with a 3rd poor attempt at a "reboot" in the next 2 to 3 years
Legion has a different design philosophy. Rev 7s are faster but weaker compared to the slower but stronger t800s. Skynet was the one to develop plasma tech to begin with, at least of the purple variety which is how the resistance got its hands on that tech. Without skynet no need for plasma. You also forget that Skynet built dozens of terminator models that were easily killed with bullets before it built the t800. Legion is no different, before it built the REV 9.
@@archillesprime I’m honestly asking. Is “virtue signaling” any different from the moral messages other films put in? Any moral can be ham-fisted, and Dark Fate’s kinda was, but so are the Fast and the Furious series’ bromides about “family”. Calling that virtue signaling when it involves messages about the value of inclusivity and diversity just makes people sound like edgelords or actual chauvinists.
@@Detson404 its not even about inclusivity or diversity. Moreover it's an interpretation of what i've seen other people say in various places, depending on how it was written, those comments are clearly chauvinistic, others are trying to illustrate a point of what they are doing in movies lately. People freaked out about LaFou in Beauty & the Beast being gay and myself along with the people I went with thought it was hilarious. With this it's different. I myself didn't watch the whole thing, i saw some clips and thought it was unenjoyable. Theyve done some horrible virtue signalling in some shows that really rubbed people the wrong way because of the delivery. You can have diversity and inclusivity in a show and have people like it without stuffing it in people's faces. The old adage to good writing "show, don't tell" comes to mind in these instances, but that's for those other shows/movies. They keep trying and failing because they are telling the audience what to like instead of asking the audience what they'd like. People are getting a lot more picky nowadays.

The material in salvation wasn't very sophisticated, so i think it's just the military equipments that were left in reserve before they all got used

Same for the other stuffs, and when time passes, they produced new weapons or rook them from skynet machines (example, plasma rifle 40 watt range) and skynet could make better tanks and the T-800 instead of the T-600
Rise of the Machines is now a Masterpiece.

Right. The movie where John Connor doesn't understand there are more t-800 with the same appearences and he keeps whining for 1 hour about being useless. The movie where the t-x is ruined by a bunch of sexual innuendos. The movie with a plot that it's a shameless imitation of T2 minus the epicness. "Judgement day is inevitable". @@LordFindogask734 yup.
@@LordFindogask734 I watch Rise of the Machines recentley again.Despite the fact that I agree with you in some points,in my humble opinion it is still better than Dark Fate. The T-X intimidates ,the Rev 9 doens't, this enahcenced solider is unbelievably annoying, the leader has no charisma(remember that John was traumatised by the events of T2) and how are we suppesed to believe a TERMINATOR, after completing his mission, will suddenbly become self aware and feel remorse? The T2 sent back in time spent time with humans and learned with them. One of his last sentences is actually poetical:"now I know why you cry, but it's something that I'll never be able to do." And EVEN THEN,he couldn't self terminate. We see him CONNECTING with the protagonists and changing through the movie-that is my point. I would think that they didn’t land closer to the entrance because that would’ve prompted the terminators to land right near the entrance. The reinforcements that storm out of the entrance would’ve been met with an even bigger bloodbath since all the terminators would literally be right at the door in a cramped spot.
As for the soldiers taking their sweet ass time to get off the transport, it’s human stupidity. They should’ve hauled ass double time.

obi neux the reason the terminator was cool was because of its look. With a near complete redesign of the terminator it just doesn’t feel like a terminator movie. especially since they’ve overdone the story of terminator by just stealing the story of T1

It's true that Terminator started out as a book but Dark Fate was supposed to redcon all movies after 2 similar to pretty much all previous entries. Cameron didn't direct nor write this crap and seeing as there's no plans to continue the franchise shows how badly this movie damaged the franchise. He even stated that Genesys was a sequel to 2 and we all know how that turned out. If I didn’t know this was a terminator movie I would have honestly thought it was some alien war film lmao
I'll tell you what I would have done with Dark Fate if I was the writer:
The first film to begin with would be set immediately in the future of the legion and in the war itself for the purpose of developing Dani Ramos and so that the fans would accept her as the new leader, obviously instead of being a leader for no reason, she would try to justify that she is where she is because at some point she met John Connor and he trained her (it would not be known where John Connor is) and in that movie they would seek to weaken Legion and introduce the fact that Legion would create new terminator models.
The second movie would be about how, seeing that Legion is about to gain ground, Dani would discover the location of John Connor, who would be another great commander in the war, and would look for him. There, when he found it, he would meet Sarah and Carl, Carl would have the idea to win Legion, download the data from the CPU where there is an inactive copy of Skynet that it put in the terminators that arrived after T2 in order to ensure its existence.
The third movie as such would already deal with John, Dani and the T-800 trying to take one of the Legion factories to install Skynet there and for it to take control to produce its own Terminators that help the resistance and in the end we would see a Skynet terminators army, human resistance against all legion models. I would do something like that.
That would be interesting.
Better than whatever this was, Dani would've Been a more likeable character.
It would be nice to have Skynet and human in uneasy alliance.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Grace's attitude towards Sarah throughout Dark Fate, but in this scene I think it was completely justified. Grace woke up and literally the first thing she saw was Sarah pointing a gun at her face. That, combined with the fact that Grace didn't know who Sarah was, it's understandable why Grace didn't trust Sarah right away. When you think about it, Sarah was the character acting dumb by not taking precautions for when Grace woke up. She didn't even tie Grace down and she knows more than anyone that handguns are basically ineffective on Terminators. Also, Sarah locked Dani out of the room while the Rev-9 was still running around. Really smart there, Sarah.
Because Grace is a strong independent SJW wahman!
Given how strong Grace becomes it is insane that EVERYONE isn't made an augment.
Also its insane how Legion hasnt already won the war given how easily those Revs tore up the soldiers.
Oh also if your going to make Dani the saviour of the future why did they decide that in her very first danger scene to make her useless. Grace needed her to drive, but it was written that she couldn't, but her extra soon to die brother could.
Even child John Connor in T2 was useful and resourceful. Hacked doors. Filled Magazines. Reloaded weapons for Sarah and Pops.
Because John in Terminator 2 had already had a bunch of training from his mother ever since she learned she'd become the mother of the savior of humanity. Dani just got thrown into the deep end with this
well the augment comes with a cost. you need to take drugs all the time, and i assume you're not going to live for long.
I think the reason why humans weren't augmented was because not only was it still in its experimental stages, but it was also risky to do so. I could be wrong cause it's been forever since I watched the 6 I'm pretty sure they said it was an experiment to help win the war.
>Pops
Don't you fucking dare to call T-800 that word. Ever. Again.
They don't have the resources to make everyone an Augment, just the ones that can survive on the battlefield.
1:31 Still no plasma riffles in 40 Watt range ((
Terminator :Resistance has them. THAT is the real T3. The movie stop after 2.
They sure took their sweet time getting from the ship to the entrance. Lol
The terminators are no longer Robots. They are shapeshifting aliens. I hate to say this but I find it very difficult to believe the humans could mount any kind of resistance to the terminators portrayed in this scene. Tension is important yes! but believability is just as important. I am glad I didn't bother watching this movie.
Uh.... T-1000??? Shapeshifting robots been a thing. The problem is that the Resistance for some unknown reason transgressed in tech and having their butts kicked yet they're the ones winning.
@@glint3924 T-1000 was pretty much never used because they were the newest technology and because they were so advanced that even Skynet was afraid of them since there was a good chance that they would develop enough to rebel against it.
The fact that it sent T-1000 in the past merely showed just how desperate Skynet was. If it was an army of T-1000, like here, humanity would've been screwed with or without John Connor.
@@glint3924
The T-1000 was a prototype that scared Skynet itself because it was able to think for itself and even disobey Skynet's orders. It built one and used it in desperation.
The Rev-7s are numerous and would massacre any organized resistance before it can even start properly. You'd need to outnumber them at least 8-1 to stand a chance.
0:52, they couldn't park the hover craft any closer to the door, they could have saved a few more lives.
Of course, who needs AA guns next to massive bunker entrance when enemy is using suicide drones...
How the Hell are we supposed to fight and survive these kinds of terminators? We'd be screwed. The soldiers are armed with only rifles that can barely penetrate or damage the machines.
Not to mention their ability to split and stab you from across the universe. You can't even approach a Rev-9 because it has the ability to make blades everywhere. But a Rev-7 you can't even be in the vicinity of a Rev-7.
@@AshenDemon Right! I have to say, this is the strongest terminator in the franchise.

I love The Terminator movie series franchise. I have been a fan for close to 40 years. Fantastic action and effects. Interesting evolving storyline.
Interestingly enough, these Rev7 could have very well been Rev9. From the concept art by Nivanh Chanthara, some iterations of the Rev9 show that the machine could extend its limbs and assume a dog-like form, similar to the one featured by the Rev7 in Grace's dream sequence.

STILL WAITING ON THAT FUTURE WAR MOVIE
Terminator 4 is the closest we' ll get to Future war
@Ironclaw XII I liked Salvation though I think they could have used a different actor for John Connor. At least that movie stayed true to allot of cannon and didnt inject any hollywood bullcrap we are seeing now in movies. Also watching this movies future in the scene it seemed more like a spinoff from edge of tomorrow well at least the rev-7's were. Seemed like the people in charge on the creation side of this movie were pretty bad at what they did whether it was the writers fault, director, or producers fault or maybe all three probably.
@Ironclaw XII I totally agree with you
@@Tyrik73 salvation was cool. I definitely feel like they could've done WAY better with it.
You damned for what you done with the ICON of cinematography. Forever.
In this scene, we all see that she wasn't capable of fulfilling her current duties, so why the hell did they send back into the past to begin with.
She was making just about as much progress as every other soldier in this scene, if not more. She suffered multiple serious wounds and succeeded in getting the commander into the safe zone. After that, she volunteered to become an augment, where she probably became a major asset to the resistance against Rev-7's. I don't know about you, but Grace was pretty much the only one capable of going back in time and protecting Dani.

After Private Ryan, I think they were ashamed of showing laser guns in the Terminator movies. It's a real shame. They have some morons making the Terminator movies now that have no respect for the source material.
When the next terminator films comes out they will say and I quote ‘we’re ignoring every film after T2
The only good thing in this movie are the action scenes, other than that this is the worst garbage in the entire franchise, and deserves to be non-canon.
Of course this shit is non-canon
Except unfortunately it apparently isn't
Wish it were an alternate universe
Wrong, not even the action scenes are good. The´re mediocre CGI-crap,just watch the whole sequence with the plane and compare it to anything from T2.Hell,even T3 had better shot action scenes!
The action scenes were garbage lmao.
There's a lot of things that don't add up in the Terminator franchise as presented, but we can make it work. Theory: There is a third faction involved in the war, made up of both humans and machines from much farther in the future, long after the Skynet war ended. In their own time, they have it pretty good. They're at peace with each other and the planet has been repaired. But, in order for their world to exist, they need the war to happen in the way their history books say it did, that is to say, they need the war to happen, and they need for Skynet to lose. So, every time Skynet makes a change that SHOULD give it the win, they intervene to ensure it still loses anyway, and every time the human resistance makes a change that SHOULD prevent the war from happening, they intervene to make sure it still happens anyway. The problem is, the changes they make aren't perfect, and slowly but surely, each time they have to alter things, Skynet survives a little longer and it's terminators get a little more advanced before it's stopped, leading to the pending crisis that things will soon reach a point at which Skynet will survive long enough to realize what's going on and start taking action against them. Would make for a cool movie.
This deserves more likes ... and a cinematic adaptation.

*When are you from?*
*Talk, talk fast.*
They had a liquid terminator in T2
Yeah, I miss that. Robert Patrick was great, but that liquid metal terminator thing started the idea of terminators of all size, men and women ect. I prefer those buffy dudes with nothing but hard steel underneath.
This movie def had some awesome action scenes
You may have changed future but u didn't changed our fate
The t2 cop guy can whoop all of them. Still haven't seen anyone stronger then the him
The TX had a plasma cannon and flamethrower that would have been able to destroy if not damage the T-1000 on a molecular level.
Unless the T-1000 had some way of destroying the TX's endoskeleton (hitting it with a helicopter in the climax of T3) then id say the TX takes the fight 8/10.
So many...poor choices here. Literally the Rev-9 is just a more human looking "Terminator" whose T-1000 Lite does not get offed by a few meager shots like the Rev-7's did. The landing craft having legs was just for visual effect and had no real practical use as that would have been a huge flaw/weak point for a low altitude craft. Rev-7 flying in that Ball configuration would have taken forever to convert to a more bi-pedal mode. The soldiers should have been able to deal with them more effectively not to mention that they are weaker when they separate into their two forms. Not being able to utilize handheld weapons, when they have none built-in, is also a very ineffective way to fight any opponent who has decent ranged capability. Why did the lander land that far away anyway? The effort and lives they could have possibly saved by landing closer. Also why did they land with Rev-7s right on top of them and no one on the ground already prepped and in position to aid them with heavy weapons? They knew they were coming! They did not even try to make any sense in this scene. I get it is a movie, but c'mon now.
and the thing that annoy me is why all this soldier move so slow when they landing though like they came to shopping or something lol isn't they are in the battlefield ? they have to move fast

I see Legion is just ... MEH but bloody Hell Skynet man Jesus 😲
You forgot the t-x from terminator 3
Legion got the entire terminator army made of liquid metal???
Classic series had a terminator that at least the feeling of 'hey, we still have a chance of winning' type due to their somewhat realistically slow and cluncky robot movements. The only exception was the aerial H-x and T-1000 and I think that its flexable movement is what made it so memorable and intimidating. And even the rest of skynet's terminators all had that sense of 'heavy weighted metal' feelings to them(excellently represented my T-800 from the first movie), so they gave us a good balance of 'hope of actually defeating it' and 'BIG SCARY KILLING MACHINE'
In Legion's case however, although the movies only shown us 2 types of its terminators(REV-7 and 9), they both have liquid metal and has even more flexible movements and stupid amount of speed so that they feel like they're weightless. Watching them fighting in a future war and the protagonists before they meet carl, all I thought in my head even after I saw new resistance using an advanced tech weaponry was 'how the hell did the new future resistance soldiers stood a chance against these things?'. They just feel so light for a ROBOT. Maybe it's due to the advance of technology, but this "weightlessness" for me makes them feel less intimidating yet so unfairly overpowered. "IF" this dark fate timeline gets a sequel, I don't know how they will defeat next REV terminator without carl(unless the resistance send a reprogrammed REV terminator)
Looks like a Starship Troopers 7 direct to DVD film!
Humans and machines used laser weapons in the future, T2 established that. Now they're using live rounds. The continuity in these films is atrocious.
Different film, different future
I mean, its a different future where different tech was developed. But yeah, Dark Fate has issues.
It’s so weird how the terminators have turned slightly into alien-like creatures that aren’t very cyborg like. It’s also crazy how the Rev-7 is like a less plastic Katy Perry lol😂
Energy weapons in 2042 just aren't a thing anymore.
Wasn’t it created by Skynet?
@ricardo demetrio alonso rojas as if John was the reason for skynet to exist, pretty lame writing. John didn't create skynet nor have anything to do with it being created. Just more proof whoever wrote this movie is an idiot he/she couldnt even do their research properly.
Yea, by this point in the future war both sides should have plasma weaponry. Salvation at least had the excuse it was still early in the future war, so that wasn't a thing yet. Some people will try to go "different timeline" but John Connor existing or not should have no bearing on this either way.
One thing these films have it going for themselves are the flashbacks scenes. I would rather have a good terminator film just about humans surviving the war against the machines.
A good gritty violent war film.
The real star of this scene is that awesome dropship
The terminators that wiped out the platoon look like Arco flagellants from Warhammer 40k!
