    Great video! As a mechatronics engineering graduate, my degree choice helps in roles like product management and engineering management because it allows you to relate to the different stages and people involved in a products manufacturing process. This helps because I am able to understand and cater to the needs of the engineers and designers involved, from the manufacturing and supplies expert to the machinists to the webpage developer for marketing. It also prepares you to work across industries from tech to consumer goods factories to supply chain. Solid degree choice, no regrets.

    Being a Mechatronics Student myself, I can conclude that Mechatronics is 50% Electronics (20-25% Control and the rest is Electronic Circuits), 30% Programming, and 20% Mechanical Stuff.
    Depending on how good you are with Electronics Engineering, this course can literally make or break you. I've always been weak with Electronics specifically, so I am constantly getting bombarded (if you thought circuits was hard, wait till you get into Control Theory Stuff. It's a whole other game!).
    That's my experience with Mechatronics Engineering in Monash University tho. Who knows, might be different for whoever reads this comment
    I might actually make a video where I talk about all the units I did so far (as I can cover nearly all of them so far) sometime soon, not sure yet.

    Done Mechatronics, halfway through mechanical. Mechanical is a lot harder but I think Mechatronics has a very wide knowledge bracket but doesnt go too deep. Mechanical Obviously goes tall and gets into materials and dynamics quite deep. They are a great combo but I think mechanical is a much more established and solid degree.

I'm not looking a job over it and just wanted to study these courses to invent stuffs like iron man as my hobby. So, will taking all these give me enough knowledge to build stuffs like drones and AI personal assistant? And... is taking master's degree of the field will gave me more knowledge than a bachelor? What if I dropout a year before the course ends, will I miss out some very important knowledge of the field?

    • @TamerShaheen
      @TamerShaheen  3 года назад +6

      If ur goal is to invent incredible things like that, I don’t think u need all these degrees. Just get a degree in one of the engineering fields like mechatronics for example, then learn more stuff online. The internet has sooo many resources that u can learn from cuz tbh school alone isn’t enough to equip u with the knowledge u need. Also, doing internships and working as an engineer at companies helps u learn a lot and become better too, so keep that in mind. In terms of masters, it really depends on what u choose to do ur masters in.

    I'm currently between mechanical engineering and mechatronics so hopefully this video is going to make me actually decide. I was leaning more towards mechanical but now I'm not sure. Which one do you suggest for girls? How hard is it to get a job in those two male-dominated fields?

    • @TamerShaheen
      @TamerShaheen  3 года назад +13

      Both mechanical and mechatronics don’t have much girls to be honest. Usually management engineering and biomedical engineering have more girls. Personally, my mechanical engineering program had like 20% girls. So, as a girl, both are still good options and I think u can’t go wrong with either. In terms of job hunting, it doesn’t matter whether ur a guy or girl, most companies don’t discriminate. However, some companies actually prefer hiring girls to show more “diversity”

      It really depends on what u want to do in the future. If ur interested in doing more mechatronics work with curious or software, then it may be helpful to study mechatronics. But, honestly I always felt that the best way to learn is through work experience. But, take what I say with a grain of salt as I obviously don’t know your entire life situation is to give advice on ur career.

    It’s already so good and it’s very high quality. You clearly break down both engineering majors well with many pictures and that’s great!(better than most youtubers already) But slow down your speech so that people can fully understand you. Plus you’ll have more view time.

    differences between mechanical engineering and mechatronics engineering:
    Mechanical Engineering:
    - Focuses on the design, analysis, and manufacturing of mechanical systems and devices.
    - Deals with mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
    - Career opportunities in various industries.
    - Standalone discipline with a focus on mechanical principles.
    Mechatronics Engineering:
    - Integrates mechanical engineering with electronics, computer science, and control systems.
    - Involves integrating mechanical components, sensors, actuators, and software to create intelligent systems.
    - Focuses on robotics, automation, and smart systems.
    - Requires a broader skill set and knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines.
    Overall, mechanical engineering focuses on mechanical systems, while mechatronics engineering combines mechanical, electronic, and software components to create intelligent systems.
