Mom just put the hamsters on the wheel and started running😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Stirred not shaken
Straight up abuse😂😂
The mother is Just putting her babies on the wheel and than shoots them into space and that is somehow a survival mechanism?
😂😂😂
It's a good way to stay in shape
Your not suppose to have a wheel in the cage with the mother's when the babies are young, your suppose to take the wheel out a few days before they give birth for this reason, those babies most likely died from brain damage soon after that. whoever filmed that was irresponsible and should not have hamsters
She expected them to get with the workout program too 😂
@@maggiemidnight8957brain damage 😭😭
I had a Momma hamster that was making quite a bit of noise one morning, I opened the door to her cage to see what was going on. I didn't know she was pregnant but knew you are not supposed to touch the babies, because they will eat their babies if they are touched. My little lady started bringing her babies to the door and piling them in my hand.
She never ate any of her babies and I think she bought them to me because she was proud of them and wanted me to praise her and admire her babies.
I am NOT saying for anyone to touch the babies of your hamster, because she may eat her babies, which is very normal.
My hamster was a great mommy too❤️❤️
so cute
Your hamster is 100% like the rodent Pope or something
If you can't provide for your kids, they'll provide for you
😂😂😂
Scientists also found out that it could be a lack of vitamin B3
Yeah we saw that with our hampsters when we were kids. The one that finally got us to decide we didn't want hampsters anymore was when the female ate off the male's head. Literally. 😳
Holy crap! That's kinda metal and really gross at the same time.
Yea ideally don't keep hamsters together cause that does happen aha
Yeah hamsters, especially Syrian hamsters, living with other hamsters in a cage will always end up fighting to the death and the winner will eat the loser. Pet stores just pass a very wrong idea when they are selling hamsters all together in the same cage, but that’s because then they’re still young and not yet too dominant over territory
@@luVsucksxAnngelis this the reason the pet store has a sign telling you which ones are solitary and which ones can live in groups?
@@lovelasnow yeah I suppose so. There are a few species of hamsters that can do well living together as long as the enclosure is big enough but territorial fighting might still happen and it’s something that only experienced owners should try. With other species like Syrian hamsters it’s a big no, they will fight to the death and cannibalise at some point. And then you have mice and rats, they’re social animals and these definitely should be kept in pairs/groups (but not male/male) so it’s important for people to know the difference in pet stores
I mean “It’s free real estate”
Yeah, hamsters dont just do this to their young, they do it to full grown hamsters too.
Kinda crappy animals tbh
It's why you're supposed to keep them alone. They're not like other rodents that need a companion since they tend to be pretty territorial.
But they're so cute 😍
Mom made the babies fall off the wheel I bust out laughing 🤣😭
😂😂😂😂
"It's a tough life, kid. Run or get eaten."
Btw I’ve found somewhere:
researchers were not able to successfully breed and domesticate hamsters until 1939.
So they are relatively new home pets q
Talk about childhood trauma😂 trauma 28 years ago being excited my hamster had babies the night before.. woke up and ran to open the cage only to see them without heads and momma chomping with blood around her face😢
So rabbits do the same thing, but if you feed them some other meat after birth, they won't eat any babies. It's thought to be a nutrient deficiency that causes this behavior (at least in rabbits. I don't have experience with hamsters)
She just chews her baby alive, like snacks.
As a child, I saw our pet rodent eat her babies and I have never been the same.
I used to have one. RIP Sniffi… but that’s cruel 😢
Oh no, that poor babies on a wheel 🙈
At least it wasn't getting eaten.
This is why mice can breed like crazy.
Mice moms live with other females and will collectively care for the babies.
They still do eat their young, but not as readily. (Personal experience)
Oh Wow i did not know that hamsters are killers 😳 😢
They are not
Yep. When I was little me and my sister had hamsters and hers ended up eating the head of mine and shortly after hers died too.
Cannibalism is not uncommon in the animal kingdom.
So... make sure your pregnant hamster has more food than she knows what to do with, and plenty of room for a big family?
To be honest ever since I saw how they yawned I started to disgust this creatures 💀
So, we can separate the babies and feed them by dropper?
i´ve had thad happen, I didn´t have hamsters after that, only with the beige fluffy ones, never had problems with the two coloured(natural?) hamsters. The guineapigs are simply Perfect, they only have a few, and they are little adults when they are born. My hamsters Always had plenty food/water and peace+ a secure place within their cage, but she ate them anyways.
Guinea pigs are ace.
@@Chris-dm1jeYes. So few problems, and always sweet, hamsters break loose, eat their offspring, sometimes for no reason. Also guineapigs call so cute when you open the fridge
I had a guinea pig when I was six and loved him to bits. He was fantastic. When he died I was devastated.
I looked after a hamster for a weekend when I was about ten. I've despised the species ever since.
Pet hamster don't have to fight for resources like in the wild ... But them still doing it means this is probably a stress reaction
I think many rodents do this, especially Rabbits
I had pet rabbits before.
And the female bunny gave birth, only to find out that the litter had gone down by half the following morning.
No need to explain what had happened.
Another person in comment section said same thing about her rabbit! She said if you feed your rabbit meat right after they give birth they are far less likely to eat their babies. I know nothing about rabbits or hamsters but that’s what she said.🙅🏼♀️
I’ll never look at hamsters the same way again!! 😢🤢
Too bad the fathers don't pick up the slack, leave it to the already stressed out mothers, just like for humans
Nahh this is too cruel!
It's nature.
Well most reasonable reason is beacuse hamsters give birth to more babies in single litter than number of their nipples, and so they eat some of their babies but they don't eat them all, they just leave healthy ones and feed them
Exactly.
If they have only 2 -4 in a litter there is little to no stress.
Apparently, if you put two adult hamsters together, one will eat the other, usually head first.
🤢🤮
I got two hamsters when i was 12. The store said they were both girls. One day i saw them having sex. I told my dad and he said "they were just playing they're both girls". Well, a few weeks later we had hamster babies! I had to separate the dad because he did eat a baby. The mother didn't though. So the dad got his own cage and i had two cages connected with tubes for the others. Then they had more babies. And more babies. Soon i had over 20 hamsters. Besides the original Dad though, none others were eaten and they were all together. We had them on a twelve foot long table, had so many cages, and tubes connecting them all!
HM, "Ugh, I am exhausted!"
Hamy babies, 😳😢😭
Yeah my hamsters do. Some hamsters just have it in their uhh... nature? Personality?. I separated the father and put them in a dark quiet place with a largw bin cage with lots of food and bedding unfisturbed, and some still eat their young, meanwhile some of my other hamsters are a good mother and will actually take care of the babues

Damn. Post birth abortion is chill in the animal kingdom I guess 😂
I work at a pet store and one of our hamsters came in pregnant luckily she was a very good momma and all 10 babies survived and are a little over month old now. I even took one home. His name is Casper. This is the only time since I’ve worked here this has happened and hopefully the last bc it’s not supposed to happen 😅 and having 10 extra hamsters to care for on top of all the other pets is a lot of extra cleaning lol😮💨 but it was a fun experience watching them grow and I’m glad it went well and everyone is healthy
That is some messed up animal. Not sure why people decide to keep it like a pet.
I'm not expert on the domain and I dint want to debunk but i see somewhere that this behavior was due to lackings un the mother nutrition. My advice is if you have a hamster expecting inform yourself and provide it a well suited diet (vitamin B3 in particular i think) and a stress free environnement.
I used to have two pet hamsters but they got taken away from our aunties, then another two then we gave to our friend but they're gone.
But...
My hamster have 6 baby's she's taking good care of them
But
If your hamster is eating there baby just you take care of them
Plese do it if your hamster is eating there baby's plese
Try it if your adult ok ❤❤
True definition of "I brought you in this world I'll take you out ''
Don’t forget that hamsters somehow die in weird and unusual ways
So what do we.do with the extra babies?
Its true my friend hamster ate 2 of her babies i was sad 😔
Postpartum depression
Yeah and they really like to eat the brains, I guess it's high in protein I don't know but that's what mine did to hers. And before you say anything negative, I thought I had 2 females, I wasn't breeding them
“Do not touch the babies, if you do, the mother will eat them”
Hamster : Who are you calling Cute
Mine hamster didn't eat her children. My mother threw them in toilet.
Another reason: The owner would try to touch one of the newborn hamsters and then the mom would eat it. They possibly feast on human also.
Subhanallah!
Should I move my baby hammers in a different cage away from the mother?
Wow a warning would have been nice 😒
Bunnies too
So if a hamster gives birth put the babies in a separate container
They're the best parents in the animal Kingdom
True. I've witnessed that once.
She sees this as the best alternative for them, obviously. And maybe it is.
Where did the hamster go at the end😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤😨😰 and i’m takeing care of a hamster
I guess thats why they only have female hamsters at PetSmart
That’s so sad and unfair to the babies 😔
I’m convinced there are very few parents (human or otherwise) who are particularly good at parenting. That anything eats it’s offspring does not surprise me.
Also sad for the mother. The only one that gets away Scot free is the father (as usual)
Yeah same as the aborted babies by those pro choice mom
what is the hamster doing with the metal stick 🤨
All I’m thinking about is the famous hamster named Ad. ❤
Hamsters would be pro choice
Ayo what was that hamster doing to that metal thing?!? 😂
So, life totally blows, right?
We had one that lived a long 4 years!
She was the best girl
Outrageous
I thought they did that because some babies are too week?
oh no
Cannibalism is not uncommon in the animal kingdom.
My hamster is
😂😂😂😂
😂 Lư êm
Surte falte vitamine B12
I think it’s hilarious, have no idea how they made it this far in evolution
That's why I hate Hamsters.

Fucked up but kind of funny ngl. Interesting how some animals under stress eat their babies like fruit snacks for self preservation. What if humans did that😅
It’s called abortion
I hate this and everything about it. If I ever get a hampster it will be a male one for sure.
