Hydra is the shadow. In the story of Hercules this hero cannot kill Hydra because once a head is cut off other three grow instead. But at some point Hercules lifts the Hydra up into the light - the sun - and she dies. Meaning that once you make the unconscious conscious - the darkness within cannot survive.
I like the story of the Hydra in the sunlight. It makes perfect sense. One source says that Hercules simply cut off the other heads burnt the stumps with a torch and then finally Hercules cut off her immortal head with a sword given to him by Athena. But seriously I wasn't there so I don't really know😂 however I like the story about the sunlight and bringing things to the light of day. I have no idea if there is an official version and if there is, why this one shows up in esoteric astrology, in the 12 labors of Hercules. Hercules is a representation of the soul, because esoteric astrology is soul based astrology, so the soul fights in Scorpio for the light - it is where the battle for our soul takes place.

I have saturn and venus conjunct in aquarius blabla but suddenly something clicks in my understanding. One thing: I have learned how to enjoy la dolce vita in a ‘disciplined way’. Mainly, I love working hard because I chose the work I do on the basis of ‘does it bring me good energy’. My work has never felt like work.
