    This was hilarious for the back 'n' forth on so many paths, "....this isn't important." 5 secs later, "...oh and this one you MUST have." Loved it so much I watched to the end just for the humour of it. Sounds like you snorted a big fat rail then hit the record button. Subscribed!

    You forgot one very important unlock very early game: the market. This will give you both a reduced food requirement for your dwellings, and allows you to acquire more resources like stone and iron. I unlocked it myself very early on and especially on the "build a large colony before a big wave" missions I used it constantly to buy wood and stone to accelerate colony development.
    All else I more or less agree with you. I personally would skip ballista early on and unlock both the soldier and hunting weapons as the first 2 techs. Hunting weapons will actually allow you to do the very early meadows mission without farms. Skipping the ballista will mean that on some maps with very early waves you'll need to rush to get a shocking tower up.
    So basically: assault rifle>hunting weapons>expert workshops>farms>reinforced projectiles>commerce>advanced construction>tesla coils>plasma spheres>chemistry>automated weapons>concrete>currency. From there you can choose more freely.

      Not bad, I was following this exact path oddly enough, ALTHOUGH.. I ended up getting the mercenaries 1 AND 2 after the soldiers and didn't realize how annoying meadows would be lol.

      Warehouses are also needed as soon as you want to start using Lucifers and Titans in the normal maps as you need a higher gold cap to start making those. Them boosting resource production is just a nice bonus.

    Some advices for the players:
    1) Don’t waste points on the balista or the great turret, you can have a better result unlocking snipers and stone towers (and possibly the technologies which increase their resistance/health and the sniper’s range)
    2) Keep upgrading the convoy to get stone and iron asap , this will give you more resources and will allow you to build the barracks earlier
    3) Absolutely avoid to purchase the Mutant! It’s not worthy to cost 400 research points. Use them to unlock the titan and his bonus damage of 25% instead!
    4) Avoid unlocking the technologies wich rembourses you 30% of the cost of a building when you dismantle it or those which grants you 1 money for each infected you kill, is a total waste of precious research points!
    Unlocking the market (which sells automatically the resources in excess) and the bank (which will boost your mansion’s outcome of 30%) will grant you more money!
    5) The best automatic defense you can unlock is the Shock Tower and all its upgrades!
    Unlock them asap to kill the swarms easily when your walls are sourrounded!
    6) Don’t forget to unlock the warehouse to increase the stock of your supplies!

    This is from early to mid game how I went with, the order is a bit different but it's basically the same on how you said it, didn't include the late game, cause it's quite viable from here on out on what you go on, but I think that the ones you said are most important to get before the late game. On that note, have you tried the Wasp rush?

    First play through I got stuck on Cape of Storms without AOE. The final wave was unstoppable so had to restart and grab ballistae which got me through. I also went up to advanced farms, reduced energy costs, sniper range increase, then engineering for Thanatos. Snipers, Thanatos and Shock towers laugh at almost anything.
    I also went bank, warehouse and market so that I could develop a tightly knit town of stone houses fully enhanced and avoid having to build too many tents.
    Works a charm, but I don’t have any train shipments so I have to capture resources ASAP in preparation for the first swarm.

      you can hold off on balistas, mass soldier spam is sufficient for cape storm. Cram them in between two lines of double walls, 4 spaces deep right across the bridge, pack em in and they'll lose a few but will hold the horde.
      Balistas are important for the sim city levels imo, you dont need to waste food on as many soldiers.

    I am not sure about this guide. I am playing first time (i mean i didn't finish campain yet), playing on 800% (never tried lower difficulty but i think this game is designed for this difficulty, otherwise i don't know what to do there). I agree we need to rush plasma spheres ( that is what i didnt do and stuck) but i am not sure its useful without shop or train point since it cost 30 stone so if i have wave on 12 day i will be able to build about 3-4 towers till that day and I won't have any army (only 4 rangers). I will try to do it, but i am not sure it will work.
    Spikes were essential for campain. Took me 17 attempts to kill 1600 fast zombies with 40 soldiers (couldnt hire more because of imperial army limitation). Then i researched spikes and needed only 24 soldiers (but it doesn't really work if we have more than 3000 zombies, only help a little).
    Tried ballista. Shitty tower, 4 rows of spikes are cheaper and work much better (defended horde with 12 rangers, 1 tile sick wall and 5 rows of spikes, however it was close call)
    I recommend rushing train until it brings stone. Nothing else really needed for first 25% of campain (except efficiency in building and expanding.), i did research soldier but don't use it (except missions where you need to use imperial point). Had to start campain from beginning because i didn't have stone train, so i couldn't build hire fast enough

    I would rec Thanatos over titans, titans are simply too expensive for what you get. A bunch of soldiers can serve the same purpose, and oil is limited. In comparison, Thanatos is a crazy good aoe unit.
    Going thanatos-snipers is generally considered the strongest late-game composition, snipers for when there are more specials.

    • @MrJasonkanis1
      @MrJasonkanis1 5 лет назад +4

      Have you played the campaign? This isn’t survival and you won’t need/use snipers until you get to the 5 star difficulty stuff when you get a lot of giants. Oil is also very abundant in the campaign. Both are viable but Titans definitely better especially on 500% settings. And you’ll use soldiers over snipers until you get to large number giants.

    • @Shad3less
      @Shad3less  5 лет назад +7

      That's where I disagree, titans are mobile force that you can move around very quickly. They are also great for micro and have a much higher dps when micro'd compared to thanatos. Think of it this way. 3 titan focus fire with splash can take out a very sticky situation very quickly that would otherwise end with your death if you use thanatos who fire very slowly. :)

    • @truefeelke
      @truefeelke 5 лет назад +3

      @@Shad3less Sticky situations that late in the game usually can only mean one thing: being overrun by swarms. And that is where the Thanatos is simply better: it is an awesome crowd control unit, able to keep zombies off your walls. Titans do less of a job in that regard as even though they have splash damage, the AOE is way less.
      Usually I just clear the map with soldiers. By the time I even get to the engineering centre, I have around 80+ soldiers able to do the job. The difficulty of the later missions lies in the swarms (not the swarm missions, which is a different beast altogether) which requires a good composition of defences. Titans do too much concentrated damage and are much more prone to do overkill, and while thanatos are slow, you have basically a make or break point: it's not likely to survive a defense line that gets overwhelmed, even if you have titans to move around.
      I'm sure you can do it either way. Defences that late game need a strong mix of heavy duty hitters for special infected as well as a lot of splash damage to deal with the huge amount of runner zombies. Cost effective wise though, a combination of snipers and thanatos is better.

    Soldiers are very much meh. Again, half of the campaign without them.
    Ballista, on the other hand, is very much needed. Several missions have very little space to expand and ballista helps to clear stuff around the base. Their main advantage in later missions is not requiring stone or iron to build. Cheap way to block map entrances against minor hordes.
