AKA some gifts can be expensive, but show such little thought that it is almost worse than getting nothing, because it just shows how little the person knows/cares about your interests. And other gifts might not cost much at all, but REALLY show how much a friend or family member gets you. Case in point: Giving a vegan an expensive cheese and meat gift basket (yup, it happened) vs a good friend giving me a homemade coupon to take me to my favorite farmer's market.
For a wedding gift from my best friend & her husband, they gave my husband & I a $17.89 bed bath & beyond gift card!?! I was a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding the year before I got married & spent so much to be in her wedding & all the festivities surrounding it & their multiple gifts (over $500). We had a very small wedding, so all of the traditional stuff somebody else would have to spend money on they didn't have to for ours, literally all they had to do was get us a gift & show up on the day as guests. My best friend didn't have time to shop for a gift for us so she told her husband to do it. He bought a $20.00 gift card, then paid for our card with the gift card & gave us the remaining balance!?!
As someone who's sitting here hungry & poor; the meat 🥩 gift would have been my most appreciated gift I could have EVERY received.. that would keep my freezer & fridge stocked for quite awhile, making MANY different dishes from the meat.

This is so subjective. What we need is real life examples after and see if the actual gift receiver thought it was a good gift. For example if the new home owner had always said that as soon as they got a house he/she could get a bird then if would have been a good gift.
