    Class act from both gentlemen of course and very pleasant to watch.
    Cesar, you've virtually invented a new kind of pool. Your edits are smooth, the replays are appreciated and your well placed notes both about the game at hand and the notes about where the players went on from there are good to have.
    You, Sir, are a class act of your own. May your subscriptions multiply like hyperactive rabbits. You definitely deserve them.
    Cheers from Ottawa, Ontario!

    I think the angle at 11:40 was a bit too obtuse to cannon the pink; but it might be camera. With your line drawing on the table it seems like it's fine, and yet without it my brain keeps telling me it won't work. :P
    EDIT: On second thought, the angle was actually perfect - Burden just elected not to play the cannon. If you look at the white's trajectory immediately after it contacts the blue, a screw shot would've put it on the exact line.

    • @egroegartfart
      @egroegartfart Год назад +1

      Yes. He didn't even try to canon it. I wonder why? If you have a little angle which he did it should have been enough I would think. Maybe I'm wrong though.

    • @ramanometh5840
      @ramanometh5840 Год назад +3

      Definitely he could've played the cannon to pink. The blue was off its spot and on the low side of left center pocket, cue ball was high. He could've, and should've played the cannon to pink.

    Can someone help me understand how this particular match works? I mean, 2-1 isn't a win yet. Is 2-2 a win? 2-3? 3-3? What does that (4) mean?
    When does the match end and the winner is announced? I'm not asking how to play snooker btw.

    • @AndyPanda9
      @AndyPanda9 Год назад

      I'm a total newb (been watching this channel about a week and figuring it out by watching) so I hope I am not giving you incorrect info. The (4) means there are only 4 frames in the match and 2-2 would be a draw. For example Alfie and Farakh Ajaib had a 2-2 draw in this same group-1. Everything gets added up later to get the rankings.

He is incredibly knowledgeable about snooker, but his commentary is incredibly superficial. I would prefer some of the player commentators: Hendry, McManus, Foulds (I'd guess they get paid a lot more fwiw)

    So one thing I don't understand about snooker is the salary. There is no salary. To me that doesn't make sense. So do most snooker players have a second job? I've done a little research and found that most snooker players make under the national average of 56,000 per year. And a-lot make under minimum wage. I really don't understand that. The average NBA salary is 7.4 million per year. What? And most snooker players are making below minimum wage? I just looked up Alfie's stats and income over the last 29 years. He has made an average of $18,000 per year. Which is just horrible for a professional in a sport to me. They have to pay for their own travel and food and hotels. Unless they have sponsors. Which maybe a lot might. I have no idea but that income is terrible. How do you expect these players to concentrate on their game and practice when they probably have to have another job which takes up at least 40 hours a week which greatly diminishes their time to practice. And if any sport in the world requires dedicated practice pretty much everyday or 5 days a week minimum......it's snooker. Eventhough I'm from the U.S. where snooker is barely known..I have played the game and it is frickin hard. I can run table after table of 8 and 9 ball. But can barely put together a run of 15 or 20 on a snooker table regularly. It is so so so much harder than pool. Yet players are not compensated well at all. I believe there should be a salary that they make. Minimum so that they don't have to have another job if they don't want and so that they can concentrate on just snooker. Pro athletes in most every other sport concentrate fully on their sport and don't have to worry about where their next meal is coming from and not being able to practice enough because they have to work at another job. It just is so ridiculous to me. For a great player like Alfie is to only make $18,000 per year. And he is not even at the low end. There's players making zero dollars per year and negative dollars per year because they don't have sponsors so they are paying all their travel, food and room and board but haven't won a tournament or any money in placings. It's terrible in my opinion. And in my opinion that is the owner and leagues fault. Take care of your players. The people that are entertaining millions of people each week and wearing that nice vest and suit and pants yet they can't even afford it and are scraping by to survive. But anyway this whole subject just fires me up. Something Ronnie said last year I'll never forget that the young players coming up are not good for the most part. A lot of people had issue with that statement but if you think about it it is true. And definitely was true then. But these players cannot put in all the time they should practicing because they are working another job. And they are great young players. But imagine if they were actually practicing 4 to 8 hours a day how good they would be. But they can't and that in my opinion is because snooker is not taking care of their players. Sorry about my long rant. Lol. It just really pisses me off when I think about it. Hey thanks for the video Cesar. Good to see you again.

      The UK doesn't want to take care of its people in general. They'd rather replace them with "refugees".

    • @egroegartfart
      @egroegartfart Год назад +1

      @@argylemanni280 same here in the U.S. Anno. And the non citizens here have more rights than the citizens do. They get free insurance. And so much help from the state for food and rent and just about anything they need. It's sad. But why can't snooker take care of it's players? That just baffles me. It's harder than any other sport ichave ever played so to be a professional there is just a very small amount of people that are just naturally that good at it. But they still need practice. And to stay good I think it takes more practice than any sport in the world. There's no snooker tables within 6 hours of me so I rarely ever get to play but I love to play. But I will tell you that my head actually hurts when I get done playing. It takes so much concentration. And thinking. The game is just so hard. But I love it because it's a challenge. But it just appalls me that they make such little money and that there is not even just a minimum salary that they should receive. Does anyone ever bring this up? Or complain about it? Unless they are already wealthy they would almost have to have another job or maybe their spouse works and makes a good income to support them so they can practice and only concentrate on snooker. It's sad in my opinion. Very sad.

      Unfortunately snooker isn't as popular as other major sports and therefore has a much smaller prize pool, only the top 8 make a decent living and still were not talking mega money, maybe 200-300k on average.
      I play snooker in a local league and it's such a tough game, I appreciate how good these top players are but for their talents they are not rewarded.
      It does make you sick when you see the likes of Phil Jones or other poor football players making more money per year than the living legend ROS.

    • @castleanthrax1833
      @castleanthrax1833 Год назад +1

      I don't live in England but I think some of the players supplement their tournament incomes by playing "exhibition" matches. They travel around and people will pay to come see them either play matches between each other (which aren't tournaments) or "trickshot" type events too, but as I said, I don't live in the UK, it's just something I've picked up on. I've heard the commentators mentioning matches between ROS and Jimmy White that were exhibition types. I'm just assuming. I've heard Ronnie say he wouldn't encourage his kids to pursue a career in snooker due to the amount of time needed to put in, compared to the return, and as you already pointed out, very few earn a decent living compared to other sports people who are at the top.

      They sacrifice salary for doing what they love. It’s probably a good sacrifice. There’s not enough fans and therefore money for it to ever be much bigger than it currently is. They are fortunate to make what they do. Rather that, than work a shit job at £50k. They probably all hustle on the side plus a Bit of coaching
