Former Detroit Deputy Mayor Anthony Adams was charged with weapons possession for bringing a loaded gun into the Detroit Metro Airport, last month.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office brought the misdemeanor charge against Adams.
Adams was arrested at the airport on Oct. 18 2012 , when the handgun was found in his laptop bag. He told police that he was rushing and forgot to remove the weapon, which he carries for protection. Police held on to the gun even though it was registered to Adams, and he had a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon.
