  • Tesla recently shared a video showcasing its humanoid robot, Optimus, navigating an uneven, unpaved surface with noticeable inclines and declines. In the footage, the robot walks steadily, maintaining balance while synchronizing its arm movements. This display highlights the progress Tesla has made in motor coordination and stability control.
The robot's ability to adapt to challenging terrain suggests significant improvements in its mechanical design and artificial intelligence-driven control systems. Its movements appear deliberate and stable, reflecting advancements in mobility algorithms aimed at mimicking human-like walking.
Tesla’s focus seems centered on refining Optimus’ real-world functionality, preparing it for tasks requiring adaptability and balance. While further development is likely underway, the video hints at promising steps toward making the robot more versatile and capable in dynamic environments.

When looking at the latest update video, if you skim through it, we will all comment that Optimus walks like B*den, walks like he just finished drinking, just went through a legday workout or any other bad comparison. But from the perspective of someone who has been observing Optimus continuously for a year now, we can confirm that Optimus has become much more balanced and confident in walking movements. On slippery terrain like in the video, it is inherently not easy even for a human, we can still fall. However, in this video, Tesla Bot is almost blind, it can't see anything, everything is the actual feeling from the feet and makes the decision to move. That's what we need to discuss here. If Elon has any sense it might be able to connect you to a network but it's own code would need to be absolutely secure.

The funny thing is that in this video, the robot is not seeing anything, just walking and trying to detect the environment, most robots having a hundred sensors, tesla is trying the hardest challenges first.

Now figure out new battery solutions to enable them to operate all day and recharge at night. We need probably a couple more decades of advancements before they can walk and run confidently on all terrains without looking like its drunk or taking baby steps.
