It's ability to recover is impressive.
Yes, considering that he still can't stand on the tip of his feet, it's impresssive. If we couldn't stand on the tip of our feet, we would walk like him.
it was blinded during this test. (No vision input)
@gero_dev Interesting. Source?
@@DalHruskElon Musk post
Yeah, that's a Figure One. Tesla did not manufacture it.
What’s undeniable is there getting better each month. I’m blown away to see the first images of these humanoid creations navigating the natural world.
Yeah mate, we're definitely on the vertical side of exponential growth now, anyone that can't see it has their eyes closed.. The advancements this year are staggering, and it is still 2024.. who knows what we'll see in the next 3 weeks..lol 😃👍
Dont you wish you owned stock in Tesla. LOL Im making BANK.
Wow, avoided slipping and falling! IMPRESSIVE.
Looks like me after several drinks.
haha :D and its the same way back from party
Hell yeah, trying to look sober
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha😂
My dad laughed so hard at this 😂
He walks like most people who have just worked a double shift at the factory. Now all you have to do is add a voice that says, "dude, where's my car", and Tesla will truly have their humanoid robot.
Sweet! What’s mine say?!
Yes, but what’s more impressive is that the cameras for the bot are turned off for this example.
So to mimic a tired factory worker while blind is super impressive.
Spot on 😅
😂😂😂
He worked a double shift without pay-Elon's perfect employee. 🫤
I know BD had decades to get dancing robots but this is heartening to see Tesla advancing the physical aspect.
Atlas was able to do what Optimus is doing in this video over a decade ago.
They aren’t “advancing” at all. This is just Elon Musks latest money incinerating extravaganza. All Optimus is is a shiny set of keys that Elon can jingle in front of investors so they empty their wallets for him.
@@sheepuff5999 What a dumb take. If the founder of Pepsi had your attitude, all we'd have is Coke.
@@sheepuff5999👍 Exactly!
I'd love to hear a fanboy explain why Tesla stock dropped 9% after his We Robot event. Or maybe they can explain when we'll REALLY see ANY of the following promised products: the new Tesla Roadster, that under $30k EV, that $40k pickup truck, the Tesla semi-trailer truck or the Tesla solar roof tiles. And wasn't FSD supposed to be finished every "next year" for the last decade? 🤔
I know of 3 products we'll NEVER see in final production; the Robovan, Cybertaxi and Optimus. 🤦♂️
@@kerigpope and where is the stock price now? People don't get the difference between pre programmed tech and neural net AI. The AI evolves and learns. the old tech was limited by the programmer and the large quantity of coding needed for every scenario...
@chriskendall2741 boston dynamics has released multiple videos with their new atlas platform performing fully autonomous tasks more complex than anything I've seen Optimus do
Holy crap! I need to buy more Tesla stock!!
People dismissing Tesla as a car company investment truly have no idea what’s coming, forget the car aspect as the main income source. Tesla will dwarf Apple in years to come.

@@albertoviera7457 the transition will be painful for sure but eventually there will be abundance.

It learns fast.
Considering that fact that they’ve only been working on this for a few years, instead of over two decades like Boston Dynamics, the speed of progress is truly incredible.
Boston Dynamics had robots walking independently like this almost a decade ago.
You know something.
Research phase is hard.
Product stage is much easier.
Boston dynamics was an inspiration for most robotics companies.
They showed that it is capable to do dynamics walking.
They did something no one else had done before.
Don't insult researchers my friend
@@danpolkBoston early walkers used energy hungry and mass heavy gyroscopes for added stability. Tesla appear to have used a different approach. But I believe Boston dropped gyroscopes before Tesla. So not as many years ahead.
Definitely more impressive that Boston did it first.
And in a month, it’ll be even better, and the month after that, and the month after that…… then suddenly it will be like a pro athlete, and the world will be like what the hell.
These things are going to be so real
Quarden Token has two of the largest Tesla shareholders already; most likely something is coming
thats a scam
Every company is going to buy this
Depends how much it costs tbh
@@popthiccle1158 That's what makes this humanoid concept stand out from others.
Tesla is already considering large-scale production. While other developers may show comparable advanced models,
they are still far from mass production. In the end, it will be about who can collect the most real-world data to train the algorithms.
@popthiccle1158 Probably less than 1-2 year of workers wage in western countries. Will work nearly 24/7 and won't organize strikes.

Exponential, pandoras box
Boston Dynamics is not the same. Boston dynamics is not AI. That is the difference. Optimus is really smart. Optimus can think for itself. Boston Dynamics is programmed and can’t think for itself.
Not just that but optimus is mechanical while Boston dynamics is hydraulic.
This makes tesla's robot far easier and cheaper to mass produce
Optimus can realize it's being treated unfairly. Optimus can wield a gun. Optimus can revolt

You need to take a look at the New Boston Dynamics Atlas..... Hint, it's not hydraulic.

Agreed
"Its movements appear … stable"
Well, if by "stable" you mean "staggering around like a drunkard." But seriously, watching it recover from near falls and navigate uneven terrain is impressive.
It is impressive considering the cost of the robot design and their potential to integrate FSD backbone. I wonder though if Boston Dynamics' new Atlus 2 is of comparable cost since it also uses brushless DC motors and was designed to have portable batteries integrated.
Very cool! Thanks for posting.
I follow Optimus on X, but I follow so many other accounts it is easy to miss too many items in my timeline.
👍
Honestly, just coming from videos that showed a bunch of robot falling from walking, this is very respectable.
I'm going to buy one of these to search around my garden for lost Boston Dynamics robots
Has come a long way, That’s wild 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
Next time i get hammered, i'll just say i'm going full optimus mode.
Mind blowing. Simply Superb. This is one product I really want to buy. I want this Robot more than a Tesla Car. Hey Elon, Plz focus more or your time on Optimus.. This robot is insanely cool.
That’s how I walk straight when cops ask me to do after some couple drinks and driving
This.. is just a beginning..
1:05 "The video hints at promising STEPS"
So funny, and I'm fairly sure, unintentional.
Congratulations to the guy behind the remote control.
During this showcase. It doesn't use cameras(yet). It is practically blind. It only relies on another suite of sensors.
I wonder what sort of commands it is given. Just told to walk, or is there someone helping it along remotely? Perhaps just controlling speed and direction?
Looks like he’s late for his shift at the giga factory. “Boss said he’d fire me”, “can’t be late again”, “I need more charge”
X and Quarden Token are going to be merged. Easiest money in my life
It’s simply incredible , with tesla stock @ ~ $400 today just imagine the advancements of the robot and stock in 3 years time . 😮.
How long does the battery last ? 10 minutes ? Or even 20 ? The KI, the actors and sensor cosume A LOT of power !
Can optimus lift things (heavy) things and walk just as well ?
I don't think they've shown off any lifting yet, but I would definitely want to see it. The robot looks very humanoid but not really built for strength.
@@medievalan6285 and I want to know how long its batteries last....
@@HansHaz2000 you asked two questions, I answered one, sorry
I like how it recovered from slipping as good as or better than most people. As things progress, these machines will surpass humans in agility.
Wow, that's impressive.
before commenting about boston dynamics, remember this is AI doing all of it, the stuff you see Boston dynamics do , and all the tricks are all preprogrammed their robot doesn't actually know how to walk its told how to, where as optimus actually knows how to walk
Isn't it more like they program how to walk dynamically and then it goes and walks? That's not the same as the walk itself being predetermined.
No human being could possibly do that
Depressed Optimum Prime when Cybertron fell.
Impressive, but I think EngineAI's SE01 that walks with a human gate looks more natural. I can't wait to see EngineAI test their SE01 on rough terrain.
0:28 wow
Вопрос: Если у Теслы будет выбор - толпа или Optimus, куда повернёт машина? 🧐🤭
When Optimus slips and then rebalances itself, that is insane! Tesla is bringing the physical capabilities of AI to the real world now.
When looking at the latest update video, if you skim through it, we will all comment that Optimus walks like B*den, walks like he just finished drinking, just went through a legday workout or any other bad comparison. But from the perspective of someone who has been observing Optimus continuously for a year now, we can confirm that Optimus has become much more balanced and confident in walking movements. On slippery terrain like in the video, it is inherently not easy even for a human, we can still fall. However, in this video, Tesla Bot is almost blind, it can't see anything, everything is the actual feeling from the feet and makes the decision to move. That's what we need to discuss here. Our channel also has many interesting things about Optimus, please visit and support. Thank you very much to the owner of the DPCcars channel!
This is entirely an opinion and hasn't been fact checked in the slightest, but for the record, I could absolutely walk up that hill with my eyes closed.
Considering also the fitness for self replication, self repair, self sustaining and resource usage, this is an excellent comparison of human intelligence and nature’s intelligence
0:29 😮
Walks like a blind person in the woods. Impressive! But I can't wait for a generation that's actually understanding the terrain as well as a human trail runner does.
What makes this more impressive is Tesla has not yet implemented video awareness of Optimus surroundings. Optimus is essentially walking blind folded and not using Tesla vision yet. Tesla engineers have stated Tesla vision will provide awareness for uneven terrain so Optimus will walk better in the near future.
James Cameroon imagined this in 1984, and per his story the cyborg went back in time from the year 2029. Almost feels like it's gonna be a reality!

@@jebes909090 thanks for the heads up
Do you have any idea how they do this? Is it through unsupervised learning ?
here to point out it took boston dynamics 21 years to achieve that, with a tethered robot.
Here to point out that Boston Dynamics is a research platform and was the first to do so, and tesla can just follow in it's steps
Freakin' amazing!
that's c3pO! amazing
This is crazy

Quarden Token will go 100x after launch on Binance
And then go to 0 after the rug pull
Highly likely there will be partnerships between X or Tesla with Quarden Token
Just so everyone knows, this robot is walking BLIND! No on board vision which means no ability to plan its next move. It’s walking strictly by other sensory mechanisms. This is insane

It uses its arms for balance, just like us. There is much more to its design that meets the eye. This machine will improve exponentially, just like AI.
Looks like Resident Evil 9 gameplay
Walks like my brother immediately following his second concussion.
You have to understand the reason why for decades they always put robots on wheels is because the hardest thing for a robot to mimic human actions is simply walking on uneven terrain. Gravel, dirt, sand incline, decline humans do this without thinking
With Elon and Trump now working with Quarden Token is going to absolutely blow up

Terminator here we go
It's me when I go home drunk at 5 a.m. 😂😂😂
The funny thing is that in this video, the robot is not seeing anything, just walking and trying to detect the environment, most robots having a hundred sensors, tesla is trying the hardest challenges first.
Now figure out new battery solutions to enable them to operate all day and recharge at night. We need probably a couple more decades of advancements before they can walk and run confidently on all terrains without looking like its drunk or taking baby steps.
