I’m loving the bear and bee puns. “Bumble”. “A bear hug”. “The Bee-et-Kong”. “Your Honey or your life”. “J-Bee”. “We’re both bears… in a gay bar”. I don’t think you could play this without the puns.
Mystery Quest is really turning out to be some of the best stuff to sit down and watch at the start or end of the day. Can't wait for the next adventure lol
Simon has just discovered the cheat code to win at all TTRPG's. I would be legitimately shocked if he doesn't try this again at some point. And Tom will be prepared.
@@OrangeDog20 Blades in the Dark has a flashback system. It doesn't let you change something already established in the fiction of the game but it does let you recontextualize it and everything else is fair game. It's a really powerful and interesting system.
I am impressed by how well Tom ran this game. The scarcity of detail would leave me at a loss as to what to do and where to go, but he keeps it moving. Kudos to the whole team as well for much the same reason.
You wake up. Completely unmotivated. After 100 or so loops, you don’t know what there’s even left to try. No matter what you do, nothing breaks it. You go about your day as normal. Walk the same monotonous route to work, sit down at your same desk and continue the monotonous work. Although I suppose it was monotonous even before the time loop. You don’t think anything can surprise you, after all, you’ve experienced this day 100 times. But when an email comes through, you can’t help but stare. This shouldn’t be possible. This didn’t happen during any other loop. “No turning back”, was in the subject field. You look around, everyone was acting normal. Do you open the strange cryptic email?… or are you on… *A MYSTERY QUEST!*
Said it before but I really love how these gaming sessions show a different side of everyone involved. No pandering to the whims of chat, no focusing on the game, just playing for the fun of it. It's genuinely nice to see everyone relaxed and enjoying themselves. Also love Pyrion's reluctant yet wholehearted dive into bear/honey puns.
Dammit Lydia! I knew it! I knew it was too good for a Jeremy like me :( Sad part is, my eyes ARE probably bad enough that I wouldn't recognize a bear in a dress until I was within arm's reach.
Pyrion is so much fun in these tabletop things. The combination of the voice and the body language he puts in when he uses it is so good. I swear, there's one particular moment in each and every one of these games that has me bawling with laughter, and this was the one.
super fun goofy game that rewards the obscure creativity of the yogs! in terms of what I'd like to see more of, would love to see more spooky horror like the call of cthulu runs! Learning mysteries along with the players is so enjoyable and by the end it's an experience that really sticks with you.

As always, love this channel. Regarding systems, I think Blades in the Dark uses a similar (but limited) flashback system so a more serious heist one-shot could be fun (also would love to see Fabula Ultima and/or Ryuutama)
If you really liked this system or found it interesting for those watching, I recommend "Blades in the Dark" a similar heist style theme but more serious. Kind of a Victorian grim dark like dishonored or blood borne. It has the esteemed flash back mechanic. Check it out Tom I think it would make a great vid.
You should try blades in the dark, it also has a flashback mechanic. Basically everyone is scoundrels and you do oceans 11 style jobs or peaky blinders style gang warfare. Also there are ghosts
A great horror game worth checking out, is Vaesen. It's themed around dark Scandinavian folkore. Mysteries to be solved and usually deadly and maddening encounters. Really different mechanics as well. The gorgeous artwork in the book doesn't hurt either. Tha is, if you're still looking for input. Anyhow, fun episode. Really silly game, but I do love the flashback mechanic.
I remember hearing that artificial... banana flavour I think it was that aggroes bees? One of the artificial fruit flavours, at least, has a main component that is the same as bees' "sortieing on this target, requesting backup" pheromone. So you could _totally_ buy a big jug of it online and soak someone's uniform in it to make bees hate them, but it would also make the guards banana flavoured -- and they'd probably smell it ("Huh, must be banana-scented laundry soap today. Boy that stuff is strong!". Then again, making the guards banana flavoured would probably be a plus with this crew.
Another vote for Cy_Borg! Also a new game called Perils and Princesses came out recently and is really fun, fairy tale themed RPG, everyone plays a fairy tale princess-who all have their own Fairy Godmothers and powers-it’s very cool
