Famous for a reason. That sums it up. The S400 has brought so many people to the world of air gunning. Incredible accuracy at an affordable price. Add a £100 scope and your sorted. Great review. 👍
They're an icon and deserve to be. Lasers. As you know, I recently got an FX Dreamline tac-compact all bells and whistles and I'm not sure it'll ever live with my S400. Bizarrely, I get approx 100 lovely shots in .177 from a fill, almost like it's regulated but its not. And its putting out 11.3-11.5 ft/lbs 🤔🥳 Epic group at 60m mate! 👍👏👏
I have owned my s400 for about 5 years, it was second hand when I bought it. The true sweet spot is 155 to 115. At that presher the rifle is the most consistent and powerful. Mines an early one, not that will make any difference. It's incredibly accurate! Not pellet fussy either. Especially loves air arms express 7.87 grains, accupel, and barracuda hunter extremes at 9.57. sub 12. 177 the calibre to go for in my opinion.
Excellent rifle , got the TDR version , aint gonna write too much , wrote a review on my ultimate sporter the other day , chrono info , accuracy the lot , because you wondered what a regulated version of the S510 was like , put it up ( and this time I didnt mess up ) and now its disappeared somehow .. took me best part of quarter of an hour to write ... tell ya , im right p*****d off ... On a brighter note , id buy that S400 even though its single shot ,
Nice looking rifle. I had a 410 a while ago and it was very accurate and good looking. Trouble is, that very thin barrel is very prone to getting knocked off target, even just getting it out of the bag. They may have cured that now. A plus for the 400 is that it’s not having to index a magazine as the 410 does so the cocking won’t be notchy.
@@dudus9287 don't worry about that. Start with a non regulated gun and enjoy! It's something that you can do at a later date if you want to.... But really I wouldn't worry about this upgrade. I certainly wouldn't bother knowing what I do now.
Hi SWS... New to air rifles... One thing I wondered about, is, say you charged up your gun, then for some reason, had to cancel your shoot... Can you leave a gun fully charged for, maybe a week before you can get out and shoot again? Or, is it advantageous to discharge your air rifle until you are ready to recharge it the next time you are ready to shoot? Would it do any harm to your rifle leaving it fully charged? Any advice on this, I would be pleased to here from SWS... or you chaps in the chat!... Thanks... Frank...
Dear Frank. There is no harm in leaving air in the cylinder of an air rifle. Obviously there are going to be limits to this, but as a general rule of thumb, its fine. Never leave or store an air rifle that has been primed to shoot, that's not good, even if there isn't a pellet in the gun.
@@southwestshooters Ah ok, and thx for the info... I just thought that there maybe a little moisture within the air cylinder, that could be harmful, and any high air pressure on the seals! But, great info ... thx very much! Oh, and I really liked that S400 as a starter air rifle, not sure yet, but hope to go to the British shooting show in feb! Frank...

Mark I don't know if it would be worth typing out stuff in a word document first? It's a shame when things get lost!

@@southwestshooters Thanks! Do you think that I should add regulator to it, or is it perfectly fine without it?
