I have the same hammer and it works with the hammer block, just an fyi. BTW, I also run it with the Wolff rebound spring and ribbed hammer spring. Very smooth action

Once you've done it a couple times there's nothing to it.

The 986 comes from the "Performance Centre" with a Wolff mainspring anyway, no need to change. Brownells own springs are also Wolff in Brownells packets. You can tell by the rib. Same with my Competitor. Good installation vid though.

Nice video. Thanks for posting. A couple of suggestions:
    1. Clean your work bench off. It looks too much like mine. 😂😂
    2. It would’ve been nice to see a more zoomed in image of the gun. Kinda hard to see what’s going on with the smaller parts.

All my work benches are cluttered lol. If it was clean I probably wouldn't know where any thing was. Lol

I used this video to install the Apex kit on my Model 69. Everything functions wonderfully, but as I intend to use this pistol as my EDC, I can't shake the nagging concern that an AD will occur without the hammer block. Am I being paranoid?

I think so. Unlike a strike fired gun this gun has no chance of going off without the trigger being pulled. The hammer has nothing to snag on so it can't cock to have a partial hammer drop on a live round. If you feel concerned leave an empty chamber under the hammer
