I recently got the Razer Raptor, and picked it due to its PBP mode, which I’m surprised you didn’t touch on. However in my testing I couldn’t get the Raptor’s PBP mode to fill each half of the display. Did you by chance get to test this out?
Would buy the LG but only if it was 31.5" and had 1100:1 or greater contrast. This under 1000:1 contrast on the LG panel is a big turn off.
Its slightly weaker in real use, that why in every review they mention it as no big deal. But check every other box and whats more important its seem they uped QC very high so small chance to get defect panel.
The contrast isn't as bad as it may seem on paper.
They do have 34 inches of the ulltragear just not 31.5.....but the contrast is okay its really not that noticeable. my old asus 23 has 1000:1 but i find my LG being able to push it brighter than the asus which compensates for it.
I think it's worth noting the Raptor is $700 and LG is $500. Ended up ordering a LG online (happened to be in stock at best buy website) and received it in a surprisingly fast 2 days time.
happy with my LG 27GL83A-B. Just wish it had less IPS glow
I returned mine for that reason and got a Dell S2719DGF
@@sergeysmelnik ew I'd rather the glow and turn brightness down than deal with a nasty TN panel
@@Txmj122 The dell is possibly the best tn panel right now. Look at the reviews. A lot of people say they cant even tell the difference in colors to an IPS side by side or that its very close. And guess what I see when I put on a black pic. Nothing.
@@sergeysmelnik i beg to differ www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s2719dgf
Live with it. Lg best monitor.
BenQ ex2780q please
nice review
I would like to see you guys also test the audio out jack on monitors that support it. It goes without saying that not all audio out jacks are made equal. The one on my Samsung monitor distorts at high volumes. I'm sure other monitors might have their own set of issues. A simple test for THD, noise and frequency response should be enough.
Thanks for letting us know. I've taken note of your suggestion for a future test bench.
You guys need to review the BenQ EX2780Q.
Love your channel, but this video had a curious oversight: $700 Razer monitor vs. $550 LG monitor is significant to mention.
i was going to get the razer ended up with lg will get it tomorrow
and it doesnt work.
screen died
I love this channel
I bought the 27” LG 830-B.. you said it’s pretty much better than the 850 other than the slightly lower color gamut lol
This is useful stuff
Please consider international markets (Europe) when comparing products.
The razer monitor is sooooo sexy but imma have to opt for the LG for price and performance
Awesome review.
Which of these two does a better job with regards to movie/tv watching?
We gave the slight edge in this case to the Razer Raptor due to the better contrast!
@@RTINGSdotcom Ok, brother. Thanks!
i was waiting for razer to release the raptor in europe, but i ended up buying LG 32gk850g when i found it on sale for 420€. its a VA panel, but its g-sync 165hz so i guess it makes up for it not being ips
Well I get my GL 850 tomorrow.. hope it lives up to expectation
on /10 what would u give to hte 850 after 1 month
@@MasterOfGamerZ I have one, and i can tell you its 9/10. Its extremely vibrant the colors and bright enough for all situations. You can set the black levels if its too dark. HDR is capable but it gets a bit dark due to lack of well unlike an OLED, IPS just cant do HDR well. But if i turn up the contrast a bit, it compensates for it.
Tried 4 examples of LG 27GL850-B - all of them had issues with black uniformity, light bleeding and so on....
never clicked so fast
I really like the razer's design, so I bought it
You loved the lack of VESA mounting with no rotation with no option for a desk or wall mount in the future... cuz the monitor can go up and down on the stand, and RgB lights. Great design.
@@Krystalmyth I dont need VESA mounting, and no rotation means the panel will always be level.
How do you like the monitor so far? I plan on picking one up with my tax returns. Any noticeable panel issues?
@@ZekeTrailblazer Everything works well for me so far
Lmao I think wat u meant to say was “I’m a razer fan boi and don’t care if there’s much better and cheaper monitors available RAZER 4 LYFE”
best reviewer ever
