  • After being a big fan of Spoon Sports and Type One from the ownership of my very first car, I finally visit the company that started it all for me.
    Ichi-San was very kind to make time from his busy schedule to briefly meet me at Type One. A message was left on their wall as a reminder of our visit.
    The workshop was super clean and organised with many parts and cars on display. Seeing their actual race cars were simply awesome.
    I will never forget this experience and will always be a fan! Thank you Spoon Sports!

    Went back to Japan last month for 3 weeks. End of my trip decided to buy the spoon calipers for my DC5 and as soon as I approached the sliding door entrance I see Ichishima-san pushing a crate from the elevator on the left that is visible as soon as you enter the office. He was a in a full Type One mechanics jump suit. I was in awe haha. He actually WORKS and not just wears fancy clothes all the time and has his employees do everything. I walked in and asked about buying parts and he asked what I was looking for. I didn't straight up greet him right away and ask for picture though haha. He was very helpful and pointed me to one of the office folks to get the items I wanted. He delivered parts to Type One. After buying the calipers I went to Type One and greeted him there introduced myself and thanked him. Took a pic in front of a DC5 and that was it. But the best part was when he gave me a ride personally to Ogikubo JR station since the caliper box was a little heavy. Had a nice chat on the way. Best experience ever! Proof on my Instagram @athfdrizzle! haha. Thanks Ichishima-san

      No problem, thank you for your comment 😊 I like the Mugen one too but I don't think it would suit my Spoon kitted S2000. Only the Spoon hardtop compliments the kit. Mugen hardtop is super expensive too.

    Very, very cool! so neat seeing the change that has happened within the last month since I was there haha. Also that yellow s800 is beautiful... my friend that I travelled with was actually the one that just purchased it from Type One :). Keep up the good videos! love them all!

    • @PerformanceCarsChannel
      @PerformanceCarsChannel  7 лет назад

      Oh wow, I didn't know that the S800 was for sale. I thought it was a restoration project and for show purposes. What was on show when you visited a month ago? Are you living in Japan?

    • @DJMAS2006
      @DJMAS2006 7 лет назад +1

      Ya it just went on forsale after we came home and my friend had been looking for a clean example... who better to buy from then Spoon! A month ago they had the Spoon EA Race car in the place of the Race NSX you showed and next to that was their Spoon Race car that is for sale and next to that was the s800. Looks like they just swapped some stuff from their lift to the floor. I am actually from Ontario, Canada and not Japan but I visited for 3 weeks and met with a few shop owners while there. Hope to come back again fall of this year.

    • @PerformanceCarsChannel
      @PerformanceCarsChannel  7 лет назад +1

      Oh wow, the S800 must've cost a lot not only to buy but to ship to Canada too. Does Canada have a good car scene too? I may be looking into a trip there sometime in the future.
      Glad to hear that the workflow/showroom is always changing as it means they are constantly working.

    • @DJMAS2006
      @DJMAS2006 7 лет назад

      Not sure how much he paid but I'm sure it was not cheap haha. Canada's car scene is pretty good... unfortunately where I live in Ontario it is not really the best and I and my friend have a small group of 10 guys who usually get together and have BBQs... that's good enough for us! You should totally visit Canada! it's a really nice place.
      Yes I agree! it is nice to see a constant changing showroom at Spoon! Also nice to see that Ichishima was there while you were there as well! very, very friendly guy.

    • @PerformanceCarsChannel
      @PerformanceCarsChannel  7 лет назад

      Many thanks 👍
      Why would you want a JDM S2000 over a UK one may I ask? I'm curious and would like to know your thoughts.

    • @MrStamford78
      @MrStamford78 7 лет назад +1

      PerformanceCars. It has around 10 bhp more than the Ukdm model, plus it's compression ratio is higher at 11.7.1 compared to 11.0.1.
      I know 10bhp is easily obtainable but there is something special about Jdm Honda's, and the fact it came straight out the factory that way also.
      I have seen lots of Jdm Ep3's, Fd2,s, Tegs etc down at Tgm sport but have never seen a Jdm S2000!
      If Torque Gt could get hold of one then I would be genuinely interested.
      Keep up the good work, just subscribed.

    • @PerformanceCarsChannel
      @PerformanceCarsChannel  7 лет назад

      Ah I see. Reason why I asked is because I have 2 JDM S2000's myself and people always ask me what's the point in getting the JDM version when the UK one is just as good.
      Apart from the 10bhp, mine also has the DVD screen in the middle of the dash and the JDM rear bumper. I may be looking to sell one of them before summer but haven't made a decision yet.

    Tell me one thing, the preparers: Spoon, Feel's, Seeker, Arvou among others, they provide preparation healings of both the honda and other brands?. I'm sorry if my question seems a bit of a no-show, it's my dream to go to Japan just to go to the preparers' stores, I'm from Brazil but every day I watch videos of yours that are geniuses in this case, I'm a big fan of these teams and my Dream is to enter these stores and get into a Honda, because in my country does not have it and it is only through your vídeos that I kill my will to be there...=... Your videos are a maximum. Hōyō

      Hey Fernando, thank you for the comment. Spoon, Feel's, Seeker and Arvou specialise in Honda's. They do carry out some maintenance on other brands which I saw while I was over there like Toyota. I'm sure when you visit Japan, you will love it 👍
