I finally figured it out. A few things. One has to be logged into the Server, as Administrator. I was logged into the Server, with an account I'd created for myself, albeit, it was part of the Admin group. Also, I had to run CMD as Admin, and then enter "net user Administrator /passwordreq:yes". After doing so, I was able to proceed with the DC Promo. That took forever (lots of Googling), to figure it out. Again, thanks for taking the time to create this video. I've learned lots in the interim.

Hello, you didn't touch on the ipv6 protocol and if we should leave this as dynamic, change to static, or disable. I have my ipv4 set to static but have not touched the ipv6. thanks
when i join a windows 10 PC to the Domain , reboot , the user (ie Anna Paterson) gets the error message "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust." , can't log in with this account, I have tried to remove and add again the PC to the Domain/ Workgroup. You have any idea how to continue ?
AD so you can all share the computers and all have the same use names, also its good at educating you for the future, like if you want to be a technician in a small primary school.

Hi Whoami, most probably the machines are not able to see each other. Try and see if you have ping to the two machines. Your client needs to have the Domain Controller as a DNS.

Hi d kyosk, I do not recommend installing SQL Server on a Domain Controller. Hi Sumari, you can check this video - ruclips.net/video/MKM1ysPWuus/видео.html , it should be pretty much the same for 2016. Make sure you create a plan prior to the actual migration and to make a backup.

Hi MetalInsanity, the already present Users folder is called a Container. It is a built in part of the Active Directory structure. The other one I've created is a Organizational Unit. I suggest for you to check the difference between Active Directory containers and organizational units.

Hi Mohsin, first I noticed you do not have a default gateway. In order to provide access to your server to the Internet you need to configure the gateway for it.
i work on lab with 35 machines using windos 10 x64, i want to configure a standard user and block some features like settings install, right click etc, i did that using mmc snap group and policy, i export the settings to import on others machines, but when i try to import i got a error, like permission, is there way to do that more easy ??
Hi Marcelo, do you have the machines in a domain? Domain Group Policy can configure all the settings for you if they are. Using the local group policy on each machine is tricky but can be achieved. But what will happen if you change a single setting on a machine? You will have to re-produce it on all the machines which is not really admin friendly. If they are not in a domain, you can use - PowerShell scripting or Desired State Configuration.

Hi Phantasm, still here. In most cases you will have a range of private IP addresses to use and it really depends on the scale of your organization. Below are the private IP address ranges you can choose from: 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

Hi Levi, there are no dumb questions, so do not worry. The best use would be a file server for storing information and pictures.
Lots of things, including group management, network optimization, and general education for your future.

Hi Yelkal, go straight for 70-740, it will cover all aspects of 70-410 + Server 2016.

Hi Urh, thank you. What do you want to achieve? Making your internal domain accessible on the internet is huge vunerability and I cannot recommend it.
