I live close enough to go to Tulsa every time if I want. It's an exhausting day for sure. If you push-and I mean push- you can at least walk it all in one day. You will miss a LOT though. You will see things that are usually only visible in museums, or extremely advanced collections. One time I saw not one, not two, but three engraved Henry rifles. You can see literally every firearm type from matchlocks to the most modern sporting rifles. You will see every type of militaria imaginable from at least the early 20th century forward. It's truly an experience. It can also be ruinously expensive. If you go, buy one of the programs they sell. It has a map in it. You can mark something you plan on going back for. Trust me, if you don't, you'll NEVER find it again. A small backpack is an essential-you're likely going to pick up numerous small items-magazines, ammo, random bits and bobs-and packing a plastic sack around gets old fast. Above all else, wear good, comfortable shoes. Bring water with you-it's a hike to anywhere in there. Go to the bathroom BEFORE it becomes urgent, there's gonna be a line like a rock concert. Most of all, have fun. Oh, also: cell reception in the building is pretty bad overall. It's a giant metal box and not great for line of sight radio.

Thanks Tom and Mitch for taking the time out of your day during the show to inspect an SVT-40 and educate me about it. I ended up cashing out on it and I love it. I’m 25 now & I’ve been working at the wanenmacher show for 13 years and within the last year or two I started to research ww2 military history in depth and it makes me wonder about all sorts of cool military stuff has been bought/sold at the show throughout all the decades of it being around.

My buddy who served in Germany had a VIZ. He’s gone now but showed me a plated VIZ that he said flew out of the hands of German cut done by half track he was on. He said that you see post war plated ones but he assured me over and over that was way it was when it saw it fly through the air. He was such a good friend and fellow lawyer he had willed me his war items.i have his complete records, photos etc. Have you ever heard of this? He did not have it done himself clearing up that issue. God Bless you Bill you were one tough SOB! Made it through war only to be taken out by heart attack doing the nasty with his secretary-he deserved that 😊

Radom is the name of the firearms manufacturing plant Vis-35 , be like calling all lugers mausers , or P-38's all Walther

Legacy, also provides a gunshow online that our disabled veterans can resource and buy guns. So many are beyond even useing a scooter but like to collect guns. No, Tom didn't give me a waffel for saying this.

Great video Tom. Regarding the Vis35, from studying German armoured vehicle production during the war, I've seen similar things. When a change, usually a simplification, is implemented, you can have weeks of "transitional production". Essentially you're getting rid of vehicles/guns that have already been started in the now-obsolete configuration, and you also have to get rid of the leftover spare parts such as those third (takedown) levers on the Vis35. So similar to how you described, some workstations will continue to produce the old configuration to use up those parts.
"First in, last out" production was also used, so older parts were sometimes buried in the back of part storage rooms. That can lead to batches of the older style appearing in groups a few months after the new style, when a sub-contractor gets bombed and the main assembly/finishing plant starts getting close to the end of their stored parts on-site; they get to the back of the stash and thats where the older parts are hiding. Hopefully that makes sense. I love your videos, Tom.

The Tulsa Show April 2024 was one of the best gun shows i have been to in years. Vendors actually had decent prices in comparison to a couple of years ago. While SOS Louisville is a grear show, having it in February is the absolute worst month of the year. I cant tell you how many times sudden ice and snow storms arise making travel dangerous.

Nobody in Poland would call Wz.35 "Radom " , everybody knows the pistol as Vis which means " power/strength in Latin - interestingly the pistol was originally named " WiS" from first letters of designers last names: Wilniewczyc i Skrzypinski ( Polish "i" translates to English " and " ) but on request of the military it was changed to Vis , both " WiS" and " Vis" are pronounced identically in Polish, so you've got Latin " strength " as it's written and designers names the way it's pronounced
