That game grumps circle does seem like self righteous people who treat people like garbage behind the scenes but are perfect seeming in front of cams and mics
It's the kind of people who immersed themselves so much in the strategic public relations type of thinking that they don't even consider people as people anymore, they are too far gone.
Yeah like when Danny made that passive aggressive dig on JohnTron never being on Game Grumps again. You can just tell a bunch of these people are snakes with fake smiles. I can get not liking John Tron but being so cowardly about it while acting so nonchalant just irks me the wrong way.
Believe it or not this isn’t the only scandal they’re on. Funny how oney the edgelord is just a way better person then one whose acting like they are.
This was pretty much confirmed when Matt Watson tried to damage control on his own personal subreddit, and painted a completely different picture from what DingDong spoke about in his stream last week. The guy just flat out spun a totally different narrative.

I was one of the few that stood up for dude in 2017 because his (oneyplays with them in it) videos helped me cope with the loss of my father due to cancer they were what made me laugh and feel free these 2 deserve so much more for what it’s worth
Edit: people in school at the time that liked game grumps and shit and we’re into edgy memes made fun of him and it saddened me to my core because why do that to someone that was about to lose their life, he may not be a doctor that cures cancer or the guy to make world peace but he is someone that makes content that helps those who need an escape and their fan base to me is a showing of how many people just wanted to go back to the days of sitting with a few friends and playing a single player game when you die you hand off the controller it brought me back to when I was a kid made me feel nice ya know

If you want to really blame them, there’s plenty of ammunition. But unlike most people, I choose to respect DingDong’s wishes and not be petty.
Major props to Julian in this whole situation.
I'm sure underneath his quiet demeanor, he's just as anxious and depressed as DD, but the fact he has stuck his neck out for his friend through and through for 5 straight years speaks leaps and bounds about his character.

Sure they didnt out him, that was likely some 4chan user, but the people who doxxed him might as well have, doxxing online is inherently malicious and encourages this sort of action
I’m torn because DD would not have wanted this video to be made he states it multiple times, he just wants to leave this behind. To some extent I can understand because all the attention and support they are getting now should have happened back then but it’s too little too late now. It would be better to help them by supporting their games. However part of me kind of wants this to blow up because what happened was disgusting and the people involved in that situation should be the ones black listed from the industry. It’s a gross injustice that shouldn’t be forgotten. Even if I disagree we should have listened to Ding dong and just let this go.

I'm glad that Ding Dong didn't commit suicide. He's a very nice guy and has a lot of friends who love him. Including Julian. I know that Ding Dong and Julian won't see this, but we as a community care about you and hope you can stop Game Grumps from being assholes.
I mean they've brought things to light. I dunno if we should push them further, it has caused them so much pain and suffering.
I hope others come forward with their receipts and either testify to similar treatment or confess and apologize.

It sucks that this whole discussion got started on stream because Matt W. donated money on stream and Ding Dong wanting to refund the amount cause he felt like Matt only did it out to save public face like “everything is fine with us”. Ding Dong said that he hated to bring it up on stream and that he wishes they could all be friends but it seems that Matt was putting his publicity/relations with game grumps first before DD & J friendship which sucks to hear

It's definitely important for people to develop independence and inner strength, but its not appropriate to suggest Ding Dong just being more responsible for his life would somehow wipe away the hurt of abuse and doxxing. These broad quotes have implications good and bad. It can make discussion difficult to have to consider what offends and what doesn't every sentence, but it's still worth learning about the impact of words because they're the most widespread tool we have to communicate, or at the very least the top 3.
You shouldn't have uploaded this in the first place if DingDong told everyone not to spend it around. Especially not on some click bait news youtube channel.

I mean, I knew nothing about this situation, but have personal experiences to sympathize with him, and know the solution is not to bury it under the rug. Makes me wonder if this whole situation was a big part of why OneyPlays separated from the GG Company. I know DD and Julien are generally still on good terms with the Oney crew, and there’s virtually no intersection between GG and OneyPlays anymore

It’s tough hearing DD say multiple times that no body stood up for them and that NO ONE would acknowledge it, leaving me to assume that Chris also felt pressured to not stand with DD and J. I assume they’re on good terms since they came back and hosted a couple Oneyplays vids but still, knowing that Matt also doesn’t care for them and isn’t their friend hurts too.

Yeah Arin tries very hard to seem like a good dude on camera but he always thinks of the business first, never the people. I'm so happy I stopped watching Game Grumps 5 years ago. I used to watch them religiously in 7th grade, but I grew tired of them after they changed up their content a bunch. I honestly wouldn't know how to react to any of the stuff they've done in recent times if I was still a fan. The situation with Arin and Sr Pelo was just goofy, the one with Dan sexting fans was icky, but I think this new situation with Ding Dong is gonna take the cake in terms of how far the Grumps have crossed the line. I've since converted to watching OneyPlays, and I actually watched that part of Ding Dong's stream beforehand. I wouldn't be surprised if they both put on the squeaky clean social justice personas they've adapted just to cover up their horrid behavior from behind closed doors. Something I find really interesting about this news is that it's coming out around the same time that I filed my own allegations against these two people who harrassed me in college. My own case shares a strong discrimination component with Ding Dong's, which is why I believe he's telling the truth. If the Grumps' past controversies didn't get them canceled before, then this is 100% gonna be the one to do it.

I was aware of the basic gist of why DingDong and Julien left. That DingDong was doxxed and Game Grumps as a company were behind it.
But after finding a compilation of the abuse on RUclips on my home page. It shocked me. Especially as a supermega fan. Learning Matt is not really a good friend. The death threats that were received. And someone on the team doxxing DingDong it hurt.
I’m glad though that both DingDong and Julien are together with each other and there for one another.

Even when Game Grumps started, Arin always struck me as two-faced and like he was putting up a front of friendliness and kindness. I watched rarely for JonTron, and stopped when he left.
To see that the entire workplace was like that... if Arin isn't involved, I'll be genuinely surprised, but all the same I hope for the best for DD and Julian, and pray that GG reaps what they sow.

As someone who’s off and on watched Oney Plays and Supermega since 2016, Game Grumps being terrible/fake is not that surprising given their actions since 2017. But Matt Watson’s role in this is shocking to me and he needs to address this (even though I’m sure he won’t). He’s consistently stated on podcasts that he loves ding dong and that they are friends. Knowing that he has a big role in this drama from 2017 and has been a fake friend only weirdly acknowledges ding dong online when convenient is very strange and I get DD not wanting to be his friend.

I'm very glad, hearing about all of this, that he did unload like this. It's clear that Ding Dong had pre-existing issues that they've been struggling with prior to being treated like this that caused them to crumple under the pressure. The suicide attempt in particular, the way they talk about their justification, it sounds very familiar to me and for most of my life I've felt like all of my trauma is my fault and my response to being abused has always been to ignore the possibility that I could change anything or that it was even possible for others to be in the wrong because of their actions. It's similar for a lot of people who live through abusive relationships of all kinds, you tolerate things you never should have for way to long because you internalize yourself as being the only common denominator, so when you see a pattern of abuse, the only sensible conclusion to make is that you're the problem. Whether that's out of fear, or gaslighting, or love, when people who are suffering feel like that it creates a feedback loop that can last potentially forever because until something in the cycle breaks and you realize this isn't normal you just no longer have an outside perspective and your whole world looks like pain.
To get up on a public platform like this, on his own stream, his own space, supported by Julian, and pull no punches, to be completely honest about his experiences, to be loud, to react appropriately, to be this blunt about things so personal, to do everything he was conditioned to never do for years of his life, it's not only brave, not only, I imagine, cathartic, but this is exactly the kind of shit people who have been in these situations need to do to reclaim their lives and sanity. Ding Dong is right about all of this, it's fucked up and it's not okay, and he's absolutely allowed to call out this horseshit.
That's what's really important. Abusers prosper when their victims don't fight back. Now it doesn't matter what these cretins do, because Ding Dong is not only willing to defend himself if pushed, but he's capable of doing it too. The actual "drama" or what any of his abusers do from here doesn't matter, what matters is that Ding Dong is done playing the punching bag for these assholes and is going to live his life now the way he wants. And that's awesome. That's what makes him a true bad ass.

I appreciate Dingdong and Julian, because they do really understand how things are. Some of the most down to earth people on the platform. Or at the very least super self aware. Why is this line of thinking so popular? You can do a good action while still benefitting yourself. He doesn't have to cop out payment in one of his videos for that video to still have a positive effect.

because if someone made a video abt bowblax calling him a grubby, slimy, selfish, attention grabbing parasite in the sea of other channels mindlessly talking abt drama regardless of the feelings of the people involved,

@@oluglyrass Putting GG under a microscope and giving others a chance to share their stories about GG is a good thing, I don’t know why you ignorant people find this concept foreign. And self serving? How? Are people just not allowed to talk about situations that don’t relate to them? If anything, this whole video has been a detriment to Bowblax, with how much flack he’s been receiving from DingDong watchers.
People now know this happened, and people also know that GG is refusing to talk about it. That is a good thing. I’d go so far as to say requesting that this information isn’t spread is actually a bad thing. Yeah, it’s in the past, but what happened to DingDong is completely unacceptable. Who knows what else GG does behind the scenes.

Also, game grumps has other things to look “under the microscope” and these are two people who have explicitly said to leave them out of it
so if you want to use two people’s traumatic experiences who were manipulated for other people’s gain as another “haha gotcha!” for game grumps (without their consent), cool 👍🏾

i really do feel like this shouldve been left alone- just send everyone the dingdongvg stream where he comes out about everything because videos like these just feel like ammunition for people to use to attack people. and dingdong wants to be done with all of it.
