The circular walk from Hollies car park is one of my favourites in the summer. It passes by the Airman's Grave and it is a good walk to see some of the forest birds like the Dartford Warbler and linnet.
It's definitely worth going there on Remembrance Sunday, lots of walkers and horse riders gather and there is the usual Last Post and 2 minutes silence followed by wreath laying. The Nutley to Duddleswell road closes for this but parking is allowed for visitors to the "grave"
I believe my uncle was one of the men on board. My mum told me about this. His name was Wilfred Brooks. Is there anyway to verify if his name is listed? He was a navigator. Thank you, I would be his niece if he had lived long enough to have been in my life. I am 68 years old and I live in Canada.

Rest in peace to all those who died in bomber command you will never be forgotten we will remember them
