13.40 to 14.20 i think i held my breath the entire time. never been so nervous. im saving up for my first proper RC car at the moment so binge watching rc videos. love this one, thank you
Nice! You should glue a pull string from a fan in the fake wench on the bumper or in the squares on the front bumper to add weight to the front of the truck. It helps the truck keep all 4 wheels on the ground.
Been going back and forth between different models gonna get the 79 Bronco. My uncle had one when I was a kid and it reminds me so much of the 80s. Spent many summers on the dunes at Pismo in that Bronco.
Excellent video. I love my Rover best of all my RC cars/trucks. Its so realistic. I have modified it though...weighted the wheels, extended the axials 4 mm each, new tires with a more sticky tread. Did strip the steering arm but will stay with the plastic arm since it will strip before it will damage the gears and break the servo. Looking forward to more videos.
Love your videos...I have been eyeing axials for a long time. I think I am sold on this. I like the low speed, high speed option, and locking diffs. Will probably get one of these first, and get a axial kit to build. I love it with the grey body.
Another idea to keep the front down is to put some alloy wheel balance weights taped inside the hood, just something I will be having a look at when my trx arrives. 😀
It's July 15, 2019 . I just joined your channel a few days ago. I get my vicarious RC thrill watching you review these RC vehicles. I like all RC but planes of all types are my fav. You are quickly becoming one of my RC favs too. So much to learn and try! Thrilled for ya! Oh yeah, Thanks! Carl The C Gul
Got this for my son at First but then took out side and decided I wanted it. Got him a drift car, the 4 Tec 2.0 instead. Merry Christmas!! I started building a crawl course as well.
I have to say, of all the RC videos I watch, I watch a ton, your videos are the most thorough and you take the time to explain everything. Keep up the great work. From one RC enthusiast who's been doing it every aspect of the hobby, I appreciate your attention to detail.
Awesome video! Scale building is absolute fun and testing your rigs and making adjustments as needed is a fun challenge and finding those tough lines to nail on the trail or rock crawling is a blast. keep us updated on it and keep the rubberside down!😎💯
Great video! I bought the Red one and this makes it my first Traxxas, have had it for about a year, been in the shed rusting for the past 5 months and was seized around the links and front diff but ive just finished rebuilding/maintenance and apart from the surface rust shes back to her old glory. These things are built pretty tough! PS: Hello to the Chooks!
Hope you are still having fun with this truck, I really enjoy my TRX4 and in the process of building a second one. As far as the Axial/Traxxas rivalry goes, for most of us, it doesn't matter in the least. If your rig puts a grin on your face, then it is the right one for you.
there are a lot of option parts for the body and kit. the servos may be a weakness on it. you may be able to replace the small servos with other micro servos
The instructions in the box say you can shift on the fly and lock or unlock diff's at any speed which I do all the time. No problems after 4 months of daily use. I love all three of my TRX4 trucks.
Also got to say that this truck fills a void I didn't know I had. Scale. I love that it's prototypical and looks and more importantly drives like the full scale. I have race trucks and 1/8 stadium trucks that go 120mph and those are fun, but none of them feel like a real car, and it's form following function. Scale is awesome because the way it drives and moves is very realistic, and it fills a need I didn't know I had. Love scale cars now and plan to build more.
Love it...I have the red one. Thanks I didn't realise there were all of the accessories. Gotta get some. I have a full size Discovery (LR4 in the US) and it is decked out to within an inch of its life.
congratulations on growing up..lol. Having been around a couple of these on the trail, absolutely did not make a mistake getting it. Sure there can be a couple issues, but what rtr or kit doesn't. Just think you will have a whole lot fewer issues with this one. So far the only problems that a friend of mine has had, stripped the servo horn, thought it was the servo gears but it was the horn. So we upgraded the servo but kept with the plastic horn just to be safe for the servo. Tires are actually pretty good all around, multiple conditions. Put some bands around the tires and seal the vents on the wheels for a small amount of negative pressure (not so much that they have flat spots) and they become even better, besides keeping the water out of the foams. If you keep the body but want to have an interior, there are plenty of products for, carefully stripping away the paint. Its slow tedious work, but can be done. I like the gray body, it has a chameleon effect when your out running and will reduce the "bored with this color". So remember it is a scale truck first, it can do some crawling. Keeping this in mind and you won't be disappointed.
Terra Quest RC all great points! I’ll do the tire tip you suggested to have some negative pressure. Heard from a few people about the servo horn issues. You recommend just upgrading the servo instead of getting an aluminum horn? Since I’ll have two bodies, I might try the window paint removal!
exactly, just a servo upgrade, you'll appreciate it. Protect the costly components by having some weak links that are easy to replace in the chain, unless they just strip out or break too often. That goes for the steering as well as the drivetrain. Another point and one I have seen mentioned before, have a small amount of vehicle roll without throttle if you can (coasting) when operating the differential locks, even the transmission, but mostly important for the differentials. The sub-micro servo's are plastic geared, very delicate and the gears will shear off in the servo if binding occurs while activating or deactivating. Had this happen with my Summit and believe me, you don't want to try and replace the gear set.
I have become a bit biased towards the Savox SW-1210SG for my steering needs. Have been putting them in all my rigs and not one has let me down (5 so far in my rigs and then the one in my friends TRX). Steel Gears vs Metal Gear ( means you may have brass and aluminum in there), waterproof and more than enough torque without worrying about having to get an external BEC. Which ever you may decide to change to if you have to, watch the length of the lead on the new servo, you may need an extension. You don't want a long lead from the receiver to the servo, so about a 9" extension should cover it, used a 12 and just bundled the excess.
Excellent review of the Traxxas TRX-4 Hopefully your channel can be an inspiration for more women and girls to experience radio control. Thank you for sharing your videos and happy new year !
How my friend hope you are you doing ok for now , so i upgraded my defender to the savox servo motor and i've ran into a little issue while turning but nothing too serious, keep the vids coming and see you next time.
Nicely presented video all around! My suggestions for it would be metal beadlock alloy wheels and/or possibly a metal bumper with a working winch. The metal down low helps immensely with center of gravity which helps all around, and then the bumper will save some cosmetic damage coming down from sharp drops or when you make a mistake, as well as possibly offset some weight if one wanted to keep the spare tire on, cause its cool as shit and no one in their right mind would go hardcore wheeling without a spare. But again nice video hope to see more in the future!
Hi RC Girl. I’ve just subscribed because I also like Defenders. Now, although the idea is from an earlier era , you could always take the spare wheel off the back and fasten it to the bonnet! If you look at the older “Series “ Land Rovers, a lot of them had this. Mine did! You’d have to check how well the body fits, and how the C.O.G. Is affected, but you would certainly have more weight up front. It’s just an idea. Like you said, it’s your money, you bought it ! Keep safe.
Great job, great content! I run most of my cars in the 70/30 trim. Great for easing into the throttle. Make sure you program first don't try to switch while car is on, it will take off! Lol
Nice to see you unbox a more serious r.c. Looks like fun. Congratulations. Might be fun in the snow. Saw L.A. In Chicago luckily we won the game but ultimately lost the series. Sweet looking rig. Interesting to see how that motor holds up and some of the after run maintenance post water runs. How can it be waterproof with holes in the tires? Even though I never owned a Traxxas love their color manuals. You blew my mind with the accessories.
Here is a tip if you get the WiFi module for the transmitter, order it directly from Traxxas, because the software has changed and is not compatible with most devices.
Does this model break easily? I was playing with a cheap rc truck with my gurlfriend and we had alot of fun but the thing is it doesnt have enough powere to climb rocky trails. Im thinking of getting an rc rather than a computer console. I just want a suggestion of a truck that i can buy that looks good and can climb rocky trails and cheap . . thanks for the reply . . have a good day to you
Great on boxing, good job and I described your channel. I wouldn't know which color of body to tell you as I love them both . And a happy new year to you I'll be watching more are your videos thank you for sharing
Again, I’ve told you I recently Sub’d to your channel. So today I’m binge watching your TRX4....Series? Yes, 3 yrs later, but I’m watching to get up to date. Your videos are very great & I don’t want to miss anything. And it plays back to back automatically, which is fun. So here we go, it’s The RC Girl show... Stay Safe and keep doing what you like.😀
Always a pleasure watching your videos it was nice to hear you say yeah I did it as you cleared the logs. Merry Christmas hope you have a great holiday. Cheers
Got mine used off of eBay looks pretty much brand new came with minor hard to notice scratches a little dirty guy probably didn’t use it much and drove it around his yard or house all I had to do once I got it was wipe body down clean tires and use canned air motor seems in good condition I don’t think it’s been driven through puddles no signs of water damage like rusty screws only mods I plan on doing is lights and winch
Awesome unboxing and you did really well explaining some of the cool features on this rig. I would suggest upgrading to beadlock wheels and better tires proline Hyrax or whichever you prefer and also you can purchase a warn winch from Rc4wd that would give you more scale realism and I just subscribed thanks for sharing and will look forward to seeing your crawling videos.
Souledout RC yeah I’ve been thinking about beadlocks and a winch! With the winch, I’d have to get a new front bumper, so still thinking that through. Thanks for the sub!
RC Girl awesome and there are quite a few bumpers for this rig from different manufacturers such as SSD rc Rc4wd and knights customs. Have a blessed New Year in 2018 Happy trailing.
Gosh i so love your taste in rc cars and your well rounded I.Q with rc parts ,specifications etc. more please!?..I laughed when I saw the chickens all huddled in one place because of the rc car 😂😂😂😂chickens: what kind of hybrid chicken is that !?🤔😂😂😂😂
Nice Video, like the crawling footage and really appreciate the audio settings. Nice to have crawling footage without death metal soundtrack also..well done.
Nice unboxing! The multi function dial is for dialing in the speed for cruiscontrol. Have the truck for a few months and it its great. The stock motor is oke but i eventualy change the powersystem for a castle mamba x with the crawler combo (2280kv) for 4s lipo. Merry xmas and a happy new year!
Hi, Discovered your cool review. Just received my Bronco...looks amazing too. Love your videos... So I subscribed immediately to your channel Cheers from France!
Nice unboxing cant go wrong with the trx4. Have a few of them, I've got the best and only very easy upgrade to moving the battery forward over the motor for better weight distribution. Check it out on my channel and my trx4 crawling straight up testing prototypes of mine.
Great Video I have 2 Trx4. Broncos, 2 Vaterra Asceders love the crawlers have a few vids myself check out when you get time. Getting ready to do some more crawler vids hopefully this weekend. Thanks for Sharing
Congrats on your rig! U looked and sounded super excited, I just purchased my first crawler which I have plans to tear down, rebuild and customize. Enjoy!
RC Girl heyyyy that's great. I actually purchased the Redcat Gen7 sport. This weekend I'm going to start tearing it down to get ready for the new parts coming in and a silverado body.
Hi RC Girl, I am looking for some advice, I really like the TRX-4 and I am looking at getting my first RC in a LONG time, I have ran a few SLASHs in the past of others. I like the way it crawls but I am nervous about it not having the speed/bashing ability that I am used too from my younger years. Can you speak any words of wisdom into what I should look at buying?
Glad you like it, should keep the front down on steep inclines and still be authentic. Look forward to many more of your videos and have a rocking r/c Christmas.
Nice vid!,I have a question for you, what made you pick this rig over something like the axial scx10-2 ? I'm looking to buy a scale crawler but not sure which one to buy, your opinion would be great
no1fixer I liked the locking diffs, high/low speed transmission settings, portal axles.. however the body is on the heavier side so if you want to do some more serious crawling I'd suggest getting a different body for it. Otherwise it's an amazing trail rig. I might get an axial in the future, those are great options too, just didn't have the cool features I mentioned above
Enjoyed your vid... sub'd... and you've made me interested in buying one. Damn it! :) Plus, I am interested in the green one with lights that work... just like my full scale Defender 110. Argh, this is going to add up!
13.40 to 14.20 i think i held my breath the entire time. never been so nervous. im saving up for my first proper RC car at the moment so binge watching rc videos. love this one, thank you
It's refreshing to hear somebody say they got their RC rig because of its features as opposed to its brand name. Thank you for that.
I got mine because Traxxas
Got mine because of the 2 speed gearbox u can select from transmitter not all RC’s have low/ high gear
Nice! You should glue a pull string from a fan in the fake wench on the bumper or in the squares on the front bumper to add weight to the front of the truck. It helps the truck keep all 4 wheels on the ground.

Right!? Who knew. I need another one ASAP.
Tool cool! I'm really enjoying your channel! All this rig needs is a 1:10 feed trailer to carry feed to the chickens. 🙂
Wish my wife had the same interest in rc as you do lol! Mind you she does join in when we take the dog for a walk 😄 so can’t complain to much haha
Love it...I have the red one. Thanks I didn't realise there were all of the accessories. Gotta get some. I have a full size Discovery (LR4 in the US) and it is decked out to within an inch of its life.

the TRX-4 is a great truck, i bought one for my daughter and she loves it
One my favor trucks and one the best in the market, I think, going to be my first truck for sure. Thanks

I say go Red! Seems like red would be you! I’m looking at getting the TRX4 Tactical Unit. I believe it is the same truck with a different body.
Always a pleasure watching your videos it was nice to hear you say yeah I did it as you cleared the logs. Merry Christmas hope you have a great holiday. Cheers
Haha! Yeah I'm new to crawling so it's a learning experience for me, and always really exciting to clear a feature. Glad you liked!

These are awesome I just got a bronco I thought it would be boring but it’s one of my favorites 👍🏻
Got mine today, super exited
Nice unboxing! The multi function dial is for dialing in the speed for cruiscontrol. Have the truck for a few months and it its great. The stock motor is oke but i eventualy change the powersystem for a castle mamba x with the crawler combo (2280kv) for 4s lipo. Merry xmas and a happy new year!
Oh interesting. 4s isn't too much power?
RC Girl ill think not with the 2280 kv motor. I find the 21turn motor a little bit slow.
Tip of the day always always Carry that little four-way ranch with you whatever you go out trailing with your rig
Liked and Subbed. Picking one of these up and cant get enough of these videos of it. Coming from the drone world into the rc car world.
Hi, Discovered your cool review. Just received my Bronco...looks amazing too. Love your videos... So I subscribed immediately to your channel Cheers from France!

Awesome vehicle, thanks for posting up the coverage.

Great job! Solid rig... traxxas stuff is almost bulletproof.. I believe it won’t be your last..
how do I get in line for the stickers?
I'll keep you posted on stickers/decals! Was thinking of printing "rc," "rc girl," "rc crawler" or really rc anything.
RC Girl .. do you collect channel stickers? I’ll send you mine. You can DM me on my IG that you just started following back.. and thanks for that !!
I like the post apocalyptic body you can get for this. I think you can buy it with it too, but that body is crazy sweet
Merci pour cette chaîne, il manquait ce point de vue féminin et ça fait plaisir, from France
Merry Christmas RC girl !!! LOL!!!!! I use my trail truck to round up our chickens too !
Haha!! They weren't super into it, but I thought it was funny ;)
super cool rig cant wait for updates
Considering this for my next RC….especially because of the Hobbywing Fusion ESC/Motor. Stay Safe.
Congrats on your rig! U looked and sounded super excited, I just purchased my first crawler which I have plans to tear down, rebuild and customize. Enjoy!
I was (and still am) super excited about it! What crawler did you get?
RC Girl heyyyy that's great. I actually purchased the Redcat Gen7 sport. This weekend I'm going to start tearing it down to get ready for the new parts coming in and a silverado body.
Such a cool looking rig. Great crawling skills also! Well done.
The is cruise control if you push one of the red buttons then the throttle control adjusts it
Purple Chocolate milk haven't used cruiser control yet!
Who doesn't love unboxing stuff?? I'm in love to this hobby! Lol..awesome video miss beautiful!
So Good!

wow its so pretty... and the DEFENDER too
Nice unboxing 👍 that thing seems pretty popular now a days!
Yeah I jumped on the bandwagon, but so far I've really liked it. Took it out in the snow today!
Love the LA shirt. Also love the crawler!

have you found the cruise control yet? I love the adjustable cruise control!
assassin_chad_23 yep it's awesome!!
Great unboxing vid...Subbed...keep up the great work and great to see a great looking lady into RCs
RCMods thanks!!
Cool video, when I get mine I will mount the spare wheel on the hood if it is possible. 👌🏻🏴😀👍🎄
Good idea
Glad you like it, should keep the front down on steep inclines and still be authentic.
Look forward to many more of your videos and have a rocking r/c Christmas.
AndyMast666 I wouldn't suggest doing that but it us possible
Nice! New logo, the video, the rig ...it's all good.
But please miss, can you buy an xmaxx next. ☺☺☺
Adam Wallace haha the xmaxx is a beast!
I'm a simple man, I seen the letters RC and the word girl and I clicked the sub button.
Subbed. Watched a few videos now and loving the content. Cheers.
Thank you very much for the insight, keep up the great videos
Enjoyed your vid... sub'd... and you've made me interested in buying one. Damn it! :) Plus, I am interested in the green one with lights that work... just like my full scale Defender 110. Argh, this is going to add up!
Siiick Truck!!!
Not into crawlers yet, but must say your videos and footage are AWESOME!!! Merry Christmas RC Girl!!! Keep up the KILLER work. 🍻🎄🎅🙋🙋😲😲😲😱😎💪👊👊
Thanks!! I still love the bashers, but scale driving takes a bit more finesse for sure.
RC Girl yeah no doubt. You've got the finesse part down I'd say. I'll have to give it a try in 2018.🍻😀
WOW you live on that much area to make your own course , you go girl , Merry Christmas
I'll try and do a video on the course build!
I got it for Christmas
