  • David Pawson looks at the narrative part of numbers which turns from the divine word to the human deeds, from what the Hebrews should do to what they actually did do. Israel did not pass the test of the difficulties of the wilderness. After Sinai they are in a covenant relationship with God and there are now punishments for their sins. They made a promise to obey Him. Obedience would bring blessing; disobedience, curse. God’s law showed them what is right; the limitation is that they can’t do it and the law can’t help them to live right. Without supernatural help we are unable to live right which is why the Spirit was given later at Pentecost. Moses got impatient with the people and didn’t listen carefully to what God told him to do. For this reason, God said Moses would not enter the Promised Land. All 3 leaders failed. Leadership of God’s people is a big responsibility, do it God’s way. The major failure of the people was they grumbled - about lack of water and lack of variety in food. The first huge crisis and the worst was when the people sent 12 spies to check out the land God was going to give them and 10 came back saying, we can’t do it, there are giants living there. So the people decided not to trust God and for that God made them wander the wilderness for 40 years.

No human being on earth has helped me to completely understand GOD ALMIGHTY like the late Mr David Pawson.i used to get put off by the bible and verse way of approaching the bible and could not understand why we just didn't read it in full to get the context. I came across Mr pawson's way of teaching and narrating the bible and I was hooked forever,it spoke to me and I understood. His very British sense of humour made listening to him so inspiring. My dream was to one day meet him and thank him for his teachings that have totally transformed my life and the way I relate to God. It also helped me to see life in a whole different way.

Really love David Pawson (missed but lovingly remembered). His own personal observations of life as a Pastor/ Bible teacher really touched my heart as he would guide you though the Bible and include these in his talks. He spoke about how he lost his daughter. He also spoke about his wife who had cancer. He was a very personal man and had many personal experiences that anyone could relate to. Yes, he was firm, but it was always from a place of love. His "Unlocking the Bible" series was great for me as a new believer, I even bought his book which was a really thick book for only £12:99 (has a lot of his useful diagrams in it that you see in the videos as well as the stuff he does on his clip board- well worth it). After listening to him I simply wanted to go back to the Bible time and time again to read it for myself, this has to be a good outcome surely?, indeed David would say: "you must read the Bible for yourselves, I'm simply unlocking the Bible for you, giving you the key" - meaning an overview. What I really loved about David Pawson was when he would pray at the end and say "If I have spoken out of terms Lord, please blot it from our minds". A firm yet humble man. I loved his teachings and would have no hesitation in recommending this channel or his books, or any other material he has produced to others. I miss him. He was a blessing. Thank you Jesus

These are so powerful and humbling. We are so ugly, and yet so loved by the one who created us. I hate that I fail him daily. But I cannot express how transforming it is to know that he administers His Grace.
