Missing you here at NAMM Henning! Great video as always! The new Binson Echorec... cool pedal, man... you've got to get one! Met Avi at Shabat Guitars... great guy! 🎸😎🤘
Have - and love - the Golden for acoustic guitar. Bought the Del immediately after the first vids came out. 🤗 Why, since I already have the Golden? Because the Del‘s concept is more useful to me, also for saving space and STILL have a DMM on board for Crowded House & Co. 😎 Now have to decide which of the two pedals goes on my electric pedalboard, and which for acoustic…
With no presets I think what will happen is it will be a pedal for people who just want great quality tones, but would rather make a "set it and forget it" and really don't need several different tones on tap as much.
It would be so awesome if you could assign the delay on let’s say the left side or channel and the reverb on the right and then have them routed like that into your daw and use them as aux effects sends and returns separately for mixing purposes.
Has the update that you mention at 9:06 with tap tempo enabled, delay switchable and reverb always been rolled out yet? I can't find anything about it but it would make me buy it instanly. Tnx
I managed to snag a Starlight at pretty much half price yesterday! Maybe because of the del-verb now being released I don’t know but I’m very happy with it!?! I was considering this but I wanted the Cooper Time Cube delay 😊
How do you like the Starlight? I’m ordering the Del-Verb soon as I’m in the process of building a board. Really two different pedals. I was sold on the Starlight and the Verberator. But, my Sweetwater tech told be about the Del-Verb and basically said it’s the best of the tow in one and much cheaper than buying two.
@@kirkwilliams2127being completely honest… I sold it. The tape was probably the best I’ve heard but it was just the lack of midi that made it harder to add to my setup. I traded it in with a few other pedals for a jcm800 which was pretty cool! If it had midi then I would still have it now. I bought a Strymon Volante in its place and am very happy 👍
I like the sounds, but I find the user interface of the collider much better. And the sounds are equally good although different. So UA really didn’t get me with this pedal.
Same. I'm really bummed, tbh. My whole studio is UA based, and I really want to like these pedals, but no way am I willing to use an app in a live environment, and in the studio, I want recall! The ability to change the order of the effects and midi make the Collider a winner, and I really don't want that to be the case.
It seems to me this pedal would really shine as an easy seti-it-and-forget-it delay/reverb. So if you mean you want something easy to turn on and dial in basic delays and reberbs as opposed to complex ambient sounds, this would be great for that. I'm the sane way. I don't do crazy soundscape stuff. I just want really good sounding reverb and a few delay options. I likely wouldn't use the app.
@@EytschPi42 well...but it is some kind of secured connection via password or something? Because otherwise I could imagine there might be trouble with some a-hole on live shows or something like that?
I’m sure they are just waiting for an MKII of these pedals to introduce presets and MIDI with little or without any development in terms of software and hardware. This way they will milk the same cow multiple times.
Be very careful before you buy a UAFX pedal. I updated my Del-Verb’s firmware hoping to solve poor bluetooth connectivity, and the firmware update ruined my pedal - it doesn’t work at all now. But the worst part was UA’s lack of a decent warranty and customer support. So now I have a useless, non-functioning pedal, and my only option for UA to fix it is to spend almost as much as the cost of a brand new Del-Verb. According to Google, I’m not the only one who has a UAFX horror story like this. I only wish I’d known this about UA before I bought the pedal. I’ll personally avoid UAFX at all costs in future, especially when there are alternatives from companies like Source Audio, Strymon, Meris, Walrus Audio and even Boss who take great care of their customers, by contrast.
@pacificfirewood I just talked to my contact at UA and he feels this is odd and should not have happened. Can you please write me an eMail so I can get you in touch with him directly? henning at henningpauly dot com
They finally added unlimited preset functionality to the Golden/Starlight via using the mobile app.. I'm blown away they didn't do the same for these newer pedals though.. I'd have sold my Golden, and my current delay pedal in favor of this if presets were available..
@@adamizer85 4 or maybe 6 presets in the pedal would be enough. I can't play guitar AND use the smartphone. Never give the customer what he wants - he could be stop to buy new products? 😅
It’s not perfect…close to perfect…presets an expression and pre delay on the reverb and it would be perfect but man it sounds amazing!! Technically you have presets if you switch in mobile app during a show… Can make and save your own combos
Great sounding pedal with the stupidest possible implementation for a digital pedal. UA's refusal to address the same issues for 3rd year in the row just plain sucks.
Unfortunately the sounds in this video would NOT convince me to make a purchase. I would advise that the app functionality should have been ascertained beforehand and that the Reverb and Delay sides should have been played independently then mixed together in a balanced way. It was all very haphazard and sounded awful. This demonstration was a real mess which is unfortunate as the pedal may be a lot better than what you demonstrated. Sorry Henning but true.
@@EytschPi42 Yes... I would advise that people watch as many videos as possible for any pedal before purchasing any new pedal product. It's great to have that choice these days.

There are a ton of settings to fiddle with via the app.

Holy sh!t! Stereo top mounted jacks! It's like these designers understand my OCD perfectly. Death to sidemounted jacks!
Nice language.

Great demo, but what delay pedal is your personal favorite go-to pedal? Also is there a quick way to do dotted 8th notes on the UA? Thanks!

Sounds great, but I don’t think that it’s so much better than what I get in the Hx stomp… plus presets, routing, more variety, etc.
such a convenient pedal... damn UA got me again
I just have one question, what is a "courser"?
that's definitely funny live - anyone with the app can change your sounds😎

Why doesn’t Vanessa just set each the 2x3 sounds up for each band before the show or rehearsal? No fiddling.

how many Strymon Flint pedals are now worried?
None. The flint has midi, presets, and tremolo (not delay). They could not be more different and so they will have completely different users.
