Some good gear advice, have seen many a diver turn up with all sorts of gadgets that weigh them down, forget the light and craynoose, bottom time is better than messign about with gadgets, you need to be comfortable in the water. IMO the best way to learn spearfishing is shorediving, sure it can be involve some more swimming and walking, however, its budget friendly and can often be turned around faster then a boat dive. Find your closest spots from home, then Swim, swim far, get your dive fitness up, build an underwater 3d map in your head of a stretch of coast, dive it regularly until you know every cray hole or overhang that holds crays, find the pressure point that holds fish. You dont always have a boat, but you nearly always have a car to get to a shore spot, recognize the weather patterns so you can prepare for a dive day in advance. The day you get a boat or mates get a boat, you will have the dive fitness and terrain awareness to be be productive and relaxed in the water
Got bloody two children a wife and three boats at home and I get to go out once or twice a month on someone else’s boat, guess I am managing it pretty well 😂😂😂
