As a former 66 T Bird owner I would like to mention that the power door locks were vacuum. There is a rear vent that can be opened to remove stale air and the steering wheel has the ability to swing out of the way of the driver when he is getting in or out of the car. Also, the front passenger seat will swing completely back so your passenger can take a nap.
Saw a '66 Thunderbird at a car show years ago, was amazed by them and have loved them ever since. I just find the interiors so beautifully 'retro futuristic', if you know what I mean. Love to own a minter, but it'll likely remain just a dream
I had one in 1981 bought for $1,200 and sold for $1,000 6 years later with many more miles on it. OK job with the review, but you spent too much time playing with the radio (mine had AM only, no tape). You did not show: -->The rear sequential turn signals like the Mustang Shelby 500s and Mercury Cougars had, which do not sequence in emergency flasher mode as you demo'd. --> The map light under the top of the dash, turned on by the lever switch next to the antennae up/down lever -> The SWING-AWAY STEERING WHEEL for heaven's sake, which swivels to the right when in park. Did you know it does that? --> The power front driver's seat (passenger side was manual only in my car) --> The power COWL windows along with the main door windows --> The ribbon-type speedometer, which runs a red bar across the MPH scale as you accelerate, rather than a typical needle --> The trunk big enough for my road bike with wheels still mounted(!)
The “pretty cool” drinking game! Seriously though, my aunt let me drive my uncle’s 66 Bird for a while after he died. That was fun. She was wise to not let me keep it.
Dude...Show the rear Sequelial Tailights. I hope you are aware of them. You seemed fascinated at the AM radio and windshield wipers. Do you think it's pretty COOL? You didn't show the cool swing away steering wheel which swings to the right when pulling the gear shift lever toward you for easy exit. Did you know that COOL feature existed? I think that was your first time using an 8 TRACK TAPE PLAYER. Maybe there is a switch to change over from radio to tape on the T--BIRD? We used eight track tapes through the 1970's and early 1980's before switching over to COMPACT DISC. I remember in my 20's the old folks were unfamiliar with 8 TRACK TAPES now it is the young people unfamiliar with them. Life is funny.
If that's the original interior color, I suspect the exterior color has been re-painted. I don't think the factory would've combined Diamond Blue with red and white interior.

"You just put the 8-track tape in like this... and then listen to it... (no sound comes out-- just hiss) and , yeah...."
That was fuckin fantastic. 🤣
This car sells for soo little money in my country. And it's brand new.

That 8 track was the 1st year a stereo system was offered and should be restored with new pulley belt

How does it have an aux??

Seen alot of Thunderbirds for pretty affordable prices
Careful they jumped in reverse when running in park 😎
While it's possible mine has never done that yet. It's most likely due to a worn pawl in the transmission when it happens.
How much ?
very cool
The thunderBird 1983 is Grey Really
What would a car like this cost?
Trabucco0 Surprisingly I’ve found some in good condition on eBay for 4.5-6.5k.
@ZadfrackGlutz Zesozose It's rare when they go for that much. Super clean and nice ones go for under 20k all the time.
lol - 10mpg.
Probably less but I'd still keep mine over an ugly a$$ hybrid or electric car.
I get 15 miles to the gallon
Holy cow that looks sexy ☺️☺️☺️😍😍😍 like it
all this kid showed was the radio...I doubt he even drives.
Stop trying to be smooo
