not sure why i'm here as a second year student at rhul but this was a really informative video that i'm sure prospective students will really appreciate hehe x
Your videos are so helpful!! Idk if it’s just me but I’m finding it hard to find lots of info about RHUL online other than the website or stuff! I’m coming in September for Drama and I’m super excited :))
Awww thank my love! Honestly I completely get it, because I was in the EXACT same position and couldn't find anything I related to. But yessss we love that! Drama seems like a really exciting course and I hope you enjoy it✨
@@VenusAshu you have the BEST vibe I love it! I’m just struggling on accommodation really because I wanted to go founders but I’m vegetarian and scared of catered 😂💖
@@evamae6063 That's completely understandable! My neighbor was a vegan and she struggled to eat in founders and have meals that were for her because the options were limitedddd
Btw i just had an offer to study computer science from holloway university last week and I'm really thinking to go there but i need to find a cheap accommodation because the country I'm coming from is so poor , paying for 4,500 pounds per year is like a fortune in our currency
I’m going to rhul this September and I’m actually so excited!!!! I’m going to apply for Founder’s because I was sold from the start! Is there anything else to know about founders? Is the food good at the catered hall? I wanna know everything about it!!! 💜
Omg amazing! I wish you the very best!!!! I'll be dropping a ranking of rhul accoms this weekend where I go into more depth, so definitely check that out!
I'm hella confused choosing between Royal Holloway or Queenmary. Both these unis have some amazing modules. It all comes down to living and lifestyle at this point...
Oooo that's a hard one! I will say that Queen Mary has been known to fail the vibe BUT it is perfectly located in London, and there's more diversity there.
I am confused among George Eliot, Buttler, and Reid. What is the best accommodation for me as international student? What is the difference between 38 weeks, and 30 weeks? Is the catered accommodation has the food included in the price? If I took a seld catered accommodation can I use the dining area of founders like to buy food and eat there?
Yes if you live in self catered you still would be able to buy food in catered but you wouldn't get the full discount. However this year they didn't open it up because of covid. The catered accomodation does not have the food included but the prices are quite affordable. Like a burger and chips would be around £2. The difference between 38 weeks and 30 weeks is the holidays. So if you have a 38week accom you can stay in your accom over the winter and Easter 4 week holidays. Otherwise with 30 weeks you have to move out and then move back in when term starts. Since you're an international student I HIGHLY recommend 38 weeks. And honestly there are accoms for international students anywhere, it just depends on what you're looking for. Most international students stay in GE and Butler on campus.
if you see this be honest.. how's Penrose Court accommodation??👀 I applied twice to accommodation and got Penrose twice haha so I think its fate but it definitely doesn't seem to be the prettiest accom😶
It is what you make of it to be honest. If you've seen my accom tour you'll see that I made it up quite nicely, but it is an older accommodation, even the bathrooms aren't as new as other accoms. I only put up with it because there was only 3 people in a 6 bedroom house because of covid, and most of the time it was just me by myself.
This video was great and so helpful! I'm thinking of declining my offers and switching and applying to Royal Holloway through Extras because I want to change courses. I originally applied for Anthropology and History at all my unis but, I think I really want to change to History, Politics, and International Relations at Royal Holloway. Have you heard anything about that program?
Yesss! A lot of my friends take those subjects and they love it! It is very heavy in regards to reading and assignments, but because they're passionate about it they love taking it🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

Hey! I got an offer to study law at Royal Holloway and I am pretty sure I am going to accept it. The campus drew me in, also the perceived 'quietness' of the Uni. May I ask, I am 23 years old now and are there other mature students around the campus? Or is it mostly young 18 years olds at RHUL. Also, I know it shouldn't matter too much but is it ethnically quite diverse? I am indian, I was wondering if there were many other south-asians and other POC there?
Heyaa! That's awesome, congrats🎉🎉🎉 If you like the quiet then it could deffo be for you hahaha. There are definitely mature students on campus, I knew a few last year that were 24-27 which was pretty cool. I'd suggest if you wanted to live on campus and stay away from the perky eighteen year olds then Penrose, Highfield and Gowar could be for you🙌🏿 They typically have more older or third year/master students living there.
And I've been meaning to put out a video on this, I probably will this week once I've done my essay😭 but as someone from Luton and who's lived in and out of London, no I wouldn't say the uni is diverse. I see alot of POC because I hang out with alot of POC's but in the grander scheme of it I don't think we make up more than 25% of the student body (I could be wrong so don't take my word as face value)

Oooo it really does depend. I was cater first year but I was consto getting takeaways and snacks because the food doesn't always bang😭 BUT now I'm in self catered I really only spend £100 on groceries that can last me 3-4 weeks
