    Combined with jack up the front end method, turn steering wheel all the way left then right with the engine off, took almost exactly 3 12oz bottles of Honda p/s fluid.

    Thanks for this video. What brand of steering fluid and how many liters did you use? Please can you send a photo of the bottle. Thanks

      It was Honda fluid. It comes in a little bottle. Honda 08206-9002PE Power Steering Fluid Pack of 3. Here is a link to Amazon

      Don't buy it from the Stealer Ship they are proud of their fluid.

    I did my 2012 odyssey this way .. working well so far .. however when I took a look at the power steering pump it looks like she has some leaks at the Seals.. is this common..I have 114,000 miles on the van ?

      Sorry to take so long to get to you. Yes, the seal will leak at the end of the hose where it plugs into the power steering pump. I have had it off to do a timing belt and did not replace it and it started to leak soon after and that was at 100,000 miles. You can order that seal from majestic Honda just enter your vin number hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

      @@261Pro We have one shop here in town that tells anyone to change all 4 struts if over 80,000 miles. I took my odyssey for an inspection when I bought it used, they figured up an estimate for work of over $5,000.

      @@jims2507I have an odyssey that my parents own that have 173k miles and I am certain they’re bs’ing when you need 4 new struts changed. Unless you live in some off road terrain but the struts on the odyssey they own still look in good conditions

    I have a2008 Odyssey. Is it important to use ONLY Honda power steering fluid or is that just honda marketing talk? Thanks

      My mechanic changed my power steering hose and used a non Honda ps fluid and its still hard steering.

    • @fixitjohn
      @fixitjohn  4 года назад

      When you change a hose, you can get air in your line. Turn your wheel back and forth to force the air out. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching it.

      Yes, it is important to use only Honda fluid. Engineers of these systems build to certain specifications and that may require operating fluids of different viscosities or chemical properties. This also holds true for oil in cars. Yours may be manufactured for flows and tolerances matching 5W-30 whereas another may be built for 0W-20. It is important to use exactly what they recommend or you may find the system breaks down quickly or does not function optimally.

      Hi Matthew, you are the first to notice that but you are right. I need motor mounts. I put after market mounts on and that was a mistake. Thanks for watching.
