here's my theory. you know how you usually forget about dreams? my theory is that deja vu comes from your forgotten dreams, basically, an event in real life was similar to a dream you once had, and it is reminding you of the dream, which is why it felt like it happened before.
This has absolutely happened to me. When I was in middle school I had such a hyper specific dream that I managed to remember it because it felt very real but definitely hadn't happened, and a week later everything in that dream finally came to be- all my furniture was moved like in the dream, something I also somehow forgot until the "deja vu" hit me, and the exact person showed up at my house with the exact toys he had in the dream. I didn't have a lot going on as a kid so this stuck as a core memory

I get deja vu very often. Its so weird i felt like 'wait..I've been through this before..it feels so similar?!' And sometimes when i have dreams,they happen later in real life which makes me go crazy thinking i was insane. Thank god Zack explained this😭🙏
The last time I got deja vu was when I was playing a new game but there's a certain pause that feels like it had been on my memories for many years. Everything in the game was very new to me and never even played something similar..

I had this happen the first time I got high. I had a dream a while before, and literally the entire night parts of that experience happened. The cat, the recliner, the PC, knowing where the bathroom was and what it looked like.. despite not ever being there. The guy's mom asked her son if he wanted anything to eat, and I knew they would decide on fish fry and ask me if I knew a place, and I'd tell them a place. So before they even answered I tried to say the name of the place but I couldn't even open my mouth until it got to that moment. There were other moments after that, but this was the first and most powerful moment. After that I ended up going to my friends place and part of the dream was that I was looking at the door with police pounding on it, and my buddy in the national guard was pointing a handgun at the door. There was a cop car by the parking lot, and I explained everything to him and his brother, and he took out his gun from his bag. Luckily, the pounding on the door never happened. But I had never seen his gun before and since I was freaking out he stopped joking around.
Happens but i think it's caused by constant deja Vu happening. Let's put it in a scenario: you wake up and go to work, you get deja vu about your entrance and you try to remember that dream but you instead remember a memory and your brain re-constructs that memory with a former dream scenario and spice it up with a prediction but when it gets wrong, it tries again but to convince you it deletes the getting it wrong part so you get amused.
The thing with the past lives is that if true it would mean we are basically connected through a cloud-like system. Not necessarily a hive mind but think of the founding titan from AOT or something.

The most non-deja vu moment I ever had was when I woke up from a dream playing in the snow with my friend, during a dark evening. 2-4 years later, we were playing in that exact place and then I suddenly remembered that I woke up from that dream, all those years back. I once had a dream that I went to my uncle's house and when I knocked his door I woke him up from his nap, and unconscious me thought it was so hilarious that I actually woke up laughing😂. That same day, a family member went to hospital, which resulted in me having to visit my uncle's house and exactly what I had dreamed happened right there and then, I knocked and woke him from his nap😂
I heard this other explanation that deja vu occurs when one of the eye sends the signal faster to the brain, thus when the other eye sends the same signal of the same picture, the brain thinks it has already seen it.

I had a dream as a kid that it snowed while I was buying my favorite boba tea in my favorite milk tea shop. It felt so real that I thought it would happen somewhere in the future. Till now it still hasn't happened, and it's impossible because I live in a Tropical country.

you know how you usually forget about dreams? my theory is that deja vu comes from your forgotten dreams, basically, an event in real life was similar to a dream you once had, and it is reminding you of the dream, which is why it felt like it happened before.

This has absolutely happened to me. When I was in middle school I had such a hyper specific dream that I managed to remember it because it felt very real but definitely hadn't happened, and a week later everything in that dream finally came to be- all my furniture was moved like in the dream, something I also somehow forgot until the "deja vu" hit me, and the exact person showed up at my house with the exact toys he had in the dream. I didn't have a lot going on as a kid so this stuck as a core memory

My verison of Deja vu was different. When I fell asleep sometimes my brain would literally straight up predict the event that would happen soon.
I had this happen the first time I got high. I had a dream a while before, and literally the entire night parts of that experience happened. The cat, the recliner, the PC, knowing where the bathroom was and what it looked like.. despite not ever being there. The guy's mom asked her son if he wanted anything to eat, and I knew they would decide on fish fry and ask me if I knew a place, and I'd tell them a place. So before they even answered I tried to say the name of the place but I couldn't even open my mouth until it got to that moment.
There were other moments after that, but this was the first and most powerful moment. After that I ended up going to my friends place and part of the dream was that I was looking at the door with police pounding on it, and my buddy in the national guard was pointing a handgun at the door. There was a cop car by the parking lot, and I explained everything to him and his brother, and he took out his gun from his bag. Luckily, the pounding on the door never happened. But I had never seen his gun before and since I was freaking out he stopped joking around.
Happens but i think it's caused by constant deja Vu happening. Let's put it in a scenario: you wake up and go to work, you get deja vu about your entrance and you try to remember that dream but you instead remember a memory and your brain re-constructs that memory with a former dream scenario and spice it up with a prediction but when it gets wrong, it tries again but to convince you it deletes the getting it wrong part so you get amused.

The most non-deja vu moment I ever had was when I woke up from a dream playing in the snow with my friend, during a dark evening. 2-4 years later, we were playing in that exact place and then I suddenly remembered that I woke up from that dream, all those years back. I was young, so I didn't even think that was deja-vu, even now it's weird to think of it as such. I remembered sooo vividly,, WAKING UP from having that dream..
Sometimes you can dream something from the future, it is possible. I once had a dream that I went to my uncle's house and when I knocked his door I woke him up from his nap, and unconscious me thought it was so hilarious that I actually woke up laughing😂. That same day, a family member went to hospital, which resulted in me having to visit my uncle's house and exactly what I had dreamed happened right there and then, I knocked and woke him from his nap😂
