Best fishing vid yet…and there’s been some good ones. The viewer can easily see that you know exactly what you’re doing and how to do it with a minimum of fuss. Really enjoyable.
gday mate another great video showing the types offish nth queensland has a good range and some mighty good barra and they are only bait when you put them on the hook take care .
I'm sure a lot of preparation and planning goes into each of your videos, but you just make it look so effortless. Really nice adventure, keep them coming. 👍
Especially with 5 fishing gear setup, beverage cooler jug, Rainproof clothing, Lifejacket, pack of spices , A pair of Big Knife and a Machete, Insect repellent and a Nice comfort camping tent while leave your vehicle on the other side Overnight and Realized it got towed down to town at the next morning.
I really love your no nonsense get in and get it done efforts. Really great videos that I just can't wait to watch. I'm binge watching your stuff at the moment but will keep waiting eagerly for each new one that comes out. Thanks so much for your great work!
A great session & some quality fish, thanks for the vid. Monster Bullrout, have caught many dozens of them prawning in Lake Macquarie NSW but none over 7 cm. We can prawn with a 20 foot wide hand haul net but is illegal to use a cast net, go figure. My old man was stung once worst thing ever he reckoned.
I certainly think there is nothing wrong with going fishing and bringing a few home if abiding by state and territory rules. Anyone who fishes also knows the feeling of coming home empty handed. The environment will decide when we have successful days! Glad you enjoyed watching!👍
I will definitely leave a fish or two for you to catch! Make sure you watch the next episode where I catch and release some monster barramundi! Thanks for your support!👍
Another enjoyable video. Who cares if you eat the bait...it's all so fresh! Have you ever tried eating bullrout which apparently are edible but just bone ugly? I've seen stonefish being prepared (carefully) in Asian markets, but it's just so unappealing!
Too true, bullrout are a very ugly fish and I didn’t realise they were edible! Definitely beyond my skill level to prepare a stonefish for eating (safely)! Thanks for your comment!👍
Nice fishing session indeed...Quick correction your fish at 6:02 is not a Bullrout it's actually a Three Spined Frogfish Batrachomoeus trispinosus....its a common mistake that a lot of people make!
I will definitely have a closer look next time I catch one! Thanks heaps for your feedback and taking the time to comment it greatly appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers!
The frogfish are ugly buggers thats for sure, we get them up here in the Russell/Mulgrave system and when I first caught one it had me stumped! @@returnoutdoors2210
I am located in the Townsville region and we certainly host some exceptional fishing. We do get flathead and they can be caught in good numbers by angler’s targeting the them. Thanks for your comment!👍
Great vid man, last time i made a burger in nature, big kookaburra swooped down from behind me and took off with it. Moral of the story, keep your eyes on your fries.😅
That was an impressive catch. I sometime catch a fish that looks like a smaller version of that Bullrout, Oniogose or devil stinger, I sometimes deep fry them. Not bad eating, Don`t know about the bull rout though.
The cast net is custom made and unfortunately no longer available. It is a brilliant net and will be hard to replace with something similar. Glad you enjoyed the video!👍
Now you're getting the hang of commentary, it's an art that doesn't come easily , but I can see a marked improvement in your commentary. Two thumbs up and keep up the good work, by the way I've never heard of Bullrout, but it looks like a very nasty fish.
Once I start talking I don’t stop and the viewer will miss out on the sounds of being outdoors. 😀 Bullrout are definitely not a pretty fish! Thanks for your comment.
Who said you have to go remote to catch quality fish. So lucky living up here in Townsville so close to quality creeks. You might have to get a bigger landing net mate. 😂😂😂
Very fortunate to live in Townsville, North Queensland. The brilliant fishing, beautiful scenery and plenty of sunny days spoil all who visit the region. Make sure you watch the next episode as I find a solution to the landing net being too small! 👍
In this video I was using 15kg braid with a 60lb leader. I was fishing a snag on the edge of a drop off. Thanks for your questions. Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍
@@returnoutdoors2210 cheers mate I’ve been using these half octopus/ half circle 6/0s and found the hook up rate to be pretty insane, do you have to let the baz load up with the wide gaps
That’s a successful days hunting. How do those blue salmon go on the plate? I’ve read they can have worms in their belly quite often. Another top vid ✌️👍
Blue salmon occasionally do have a worm that is through the flesh of the fish. From my experience if one fish from a school has worms then the all usually carry it. This particular fish was clean. The worm is harmless to eat once the fish is cooked. A lot of the fish are prepared and cooked with the worm going unnoticed! Eaten fresh I think Blue Salmon are quite good eating. Thanks for your comment!
What an amazing life you have, fantastic videos and the cook ups look excellent. Thank you for the amazing streams.
I genuinely appreciate your feedback! Glad you enjoyed watching!👍

Definitely a diversity of fishing options in North Queensland. I know why the barra love those prawns, very tasty. Glad you enjoyed!👍

Great video, love the way you keep the deck clean and clear. Great fish too!
From a safety and practical perspective I like to make sure everything ‘usually’ has a spot to be kept. Glad you enjoyed the video!👍

Thanks for the great video .Did you catch all fish on mullet?
Yes, I did catch them all on mullet this trip! I tried a couple of prawns but caught small fish. Thanks for your question!👍
Fishing one of the local creeks around Townsville 😂😂😂
We are very fortunate to have such great fishing close to Townsville!👍
Gee's you doing it hard lol😂
Someone has to step up!😁 Thanks for your comment!
Excellent a-z fishing the NT....do you get Flathead up there at all?

Hahaha very unfortunate for you but a memorable burger thanks to the Kookaburra.
Glad you enjoyed the video!👍
Great barra just wondering what do you prefer mullet or prawns
I don't really have a preference, both great bait for Barramundi. Thanks for your question. Cheers!👍
That was an impressive catch. I sometime catch a fish that looks like a smaller version of that Bullrout, Oniogose or devil stinger, I sometimes deep fry them. Not bad eating, Don`t know about the bull rout though.
I have never eaten Bullrout but I sure hope it would taste better than it looks! Thanks for your comment.👍
Im waiting bara to cook. Make more video like this instead of crabing
I have a great fishing video coming up this weekend! Thanks for your feedback! 👍
Hey mate great video, what brand of castnet is that?
The cast net is custom made and unfortunately no longer available. It is a brilliant net and will be hard to replace with something similar. Glad you enjoyed the video!👍

I notice you use a sinker even when using live bait, do you let it hit the bottom or is it just a light one to keep the bait under?
Many of the fish I am trying to catch are demersal or bottom feeders. I use the sinker to keeps the bait on the bottom. Thanks for your question!👍
Good work! What line and leader are you using? Are you fishing a snag or a hole? Looks like no man’s land? Cheers
In this video I was using 15kg braid with a 60lb leader. I was fishing a snag on the edge of a drop off. Thanks for your questions. Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍
Brother what hooks you running?
In this video I am using a Mustard wide gap 5/0. Thanks for your question!👍

Hey brother what part of fnq are you?
I do most of my fishing between Airlie Beach and Mission Beach! Cheers!👍

I always bleed my fish! I just don’t always show it in the videos! Thanks for your question!👍
