Today I begged our music director to let us play this song. He said "it's the type of thing Advanced Orchestra would do at their concert for the elementary kids". But that's NEXT YEAR. And then he'll conveniently "forget" or something. So this comment will stand as a reminder that we MUST PLAY THE ONE BOW CONCERTO.
We played this earlier this week for our last concert, but our soloists didn't practice so it sounded awful. I was the only other cello but I didn't get picked. Eventually our solo cello got sick so my teacher replaced her with another violin the day before. It was awful. And I coulda done it. She could have picked me, but she didn't. I'm still salty about it.
Can we take a moment to recognize the rest of the orchestra plucking? They are pretty cool. (I'm only saying that because I'm one in my orchestra class.XD)
