diggin' the videos. i rode bmx in the 70's & early 80's (i'm 52 y/o). i started mtb in 93 with a used Trek 700 series rigid, then in 94 bought (and still have) a Mongoose Rockadile SX with a suspension fork. i took it up to Tsali and had a blast. lived in fl most of my days and the local trails are sooo much better now BUT with 29'' wheels, dual suspension, better brakes, tires, etc... the trails are evolving and will continue to with ebikes (heavier and a rider can put in more laps). i notice a lot more chatter on my hardtail with the braking pumps getting bigger & bigger, log roll-overs and rock sections are so much more rowdy. with my dual suspension bike i don't feel half the "stuff" i do on the hardtails and the old Mongoose is about a once a year challenge
Thanks for the support! We have a lot of fun playing with the Retro bikes, makes you really appreciate what we have nowadays. We can’t wait to get our Retro Bike part 2 video done!
I learned that my 20+ year old bike is in desperate need of replacement :) Now if there were only suitable bikes in my area in stock... maybe next year.
I got my first MTB in 90-91'ish, which was a K-Mart special (that's all we had in SE Ohio at the time). "Mountain biking" to us, back then, was taking the bikes camping with us and riding some fire trails in WV...
Pat: "You have a friend that's telling you to buy a rigid bike? 🤨" 😂 Good video guys! There were a couple common mtb words that beginners might not understand (more "aggressive", "slacker", etc). Since this is geared towards beginners, maybe make a note of those when watching and editing and have the definition for them written on screen or a definition edited in? I dunno. Or just be mindful for the future. Just an idea! Love you guys! Otherwise, I love the chit chat relaxed Q&A sesh. And will be pointing newbies towards your vids for info too ofcourse!
